I visited Rathlin for the very first time in September this year. A few of my friends go there fairly regularly but it had taken me this long to try it for the first time!
The island is easily accessible by ferry and it took us approximately 25 minutes to get there. There are some cars on the island, but it is a small island so it is easy to get around on foot.
We stayed in a small holiday cottage for the duration of our stay and brought all the food we needed with us. There is a small shop on the island, but it has very short opening hours and I don't remember seeing it open when we were there.
On the island, there is also a visitor information centre, and a pub, called McCuaig's, which shows live sport, serves food, and has a function room. There was a party on the night we were there with live music and we all had an amazing night! read more
