I knew I needed to find a dentist and could no longer wait. Several were recommended to me by friends, but despite a half dozen calls to each, no one at either office answered. Perhaps they were still celebrating the Fourth of July. I called Dr. Rita Devore's number by accident. Her receptionist fit me in within four hours of my call. The new patient form was a normal two pages, NOT a six-page life history. I was seen promptly. They x-rayed my tooth and confirmed my suspicion. Dr. Devore pointed out the reason part of the filling came out was that it was cracked. She could also see some decay behind and under the filling. (Good thing I went in when I did.) I didn't even feel the needle when she gave me the novacane shot. She used a "wedge" to prop my mouth open, which made it easier for me. She also used a "green paste" to confirm if she had indeed removed all of the decay. That was something I hadn't seen before, but luckily, I haven't had too many fillings in the last few years. The procedure was painless. To top it off, my bill came to $168. I was expecting worse since I have no insurance. I will definitely go back and won't hesitate to refer my family and friends.
