Pastor Kurt Neely helped push through the transfer of my family's property while we were in crisis…read more He relied on a longtime neighbor pretending to be my grandmother's son -- a family imposter with zero legal authority. Even after being told my grandmother had recently been in a coma and was bedridden, he still suggested using a van with a lift to get her to the title company. The title company employee had to come out to the car to get her signature. He ignored a valid Power of Attorney, never contacted the rightful heir, and moved forward under circumstances that were alarming to anyone paying attention. If that home had been protected, my grandmother would have had a safe place to return to -- and she likely would still be alive today. Instead, my mother, a disabled single mom of seven, was shut out completely and ended up homeless on a sidewalk in Seattle with two small children. A pastor is supposed to protect the vulnerable. What happened here was a serious failure of moral responsibility.

Love my church! It's a testament to Jesus, by real people, doing life together. Life in Christ…read moreisn't perfect with a shiny bow on top. And it certainly doesn't make us perfect. As Christians, we are to be working to become more like Christ as we grow in our faith, we are to tell others about our Savior, and we are to fellowship with other believers to support each other in this goal. I love that this church is made up of genuine, God loving people who do just that. I love that there are no bells and whistles, there is not perfection, and that this is not a business. It's real life fellowship, and it's all about Jesus.

I recently began attending this church and soon after began looking on their website for various…read morein-home fellowship opportunities. There are a fair number of places to review, unfortunately, out of the 10 I found maybe two of them provided me with information about what the group was studying, what the types of individuals were being served, Etc out of those 10 maybe two provided information about what was being studied and so on. The rest only provided the location and time. When I called the church to request that they urge the leaders of each group to provide complete information so that newbies like me could know what each group was studying the response I got from Gary was "well they're just volunteers." Ugh. This is not the kind of response that I would expect from a church that is serious about discipleship or Fellowship so I won't be attending. I recommend that anyone investigating this church take note. We are not here on this planet as "volunteers." That's a really sad sad description and I was very disappointed.

The worship team recently switched and there is now a mix of traditional and contemporary music. The church is small and everyone knows everyone, for the most part. One of the nice things about a small church is the intimate way in which you get to know fellow believers; not to mention, new people are noticed and welcomed right away. For the most part the church consists of many folks who are my parents and grandparents' age and that is fine by me as all my family lives in Cali. This church has Sunday school at 9am, awana on Wednesday, youth group (can't remember which day), children's chirch and nursery during services and small groups throughout the week. I was drawn to this church and after almost a year I am positive it was the right choice for me.
