Ah the fond memories I have of this library ... (I'm a geek at heart) I remember being a child and winning a competition for the C.S. Lewis' 'Narnia' box set. I cried when they rang to tell me... (Geek, as I say!) I used to be so addicted to this library. They were and still are always so helpful, and passionate about keeping the local library open for those who desire it. Literacy is such an important part of the curriculum and that makes the library important for the kids as well. I'm pleased that this is a business that's moved with the times, it holds arts exhibitions, book reviews, craft workshops, a 'senior club', plus and adult & junior reading group. I love the community feel of the place. They have a great selection of books and you can order any titles in if they don't have it at that time. I read books like nobodies business and it's great being able to go here and read new stock, or reread old favourites. Ok, so this is a nostalgia trip but back in the early 80s this was one of our go to places. It opened up a whole new world to us. We learned to play chess there and met the author Terence Dicks (of Dr.Who fame). Did I mention all those lovely books ........... read more
