Marienplatz itself is very lively and busy, with plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops surrounding the square. We were able to sit outside at a nearby restaurant for lunch with an amazing view of the Neues Rathaus, which made the experience even better. Definitely take some time to walk around the square, see the building from different angles and watch the Glockenspiel if you're there at the right time. It's also a great area to explore on foot since so many other sights are nearby. A must-see when visiting Munich and a beautiful place for photos!
