Somehow it took them an hour, even though I was the only one there. Then they told me I failed the inspection because all my tires are bad and I shouldn't be driving on them. They also said my suspension was about to break. They added, "Since you're already here, we can fix it for you," and quoted me around $2k. I left, went down the road, and got another inspection. It took just 12 minutes and I passed. They said my tires look basically new and there was nothing wrong with my suspension.

John was super easy to work with and puts a good face forward, he never lost track of me while handling a steady flow of incoming calls and he was cheerful when I dropped off at 7:30am a couple days later. no grumps, no excuses... yea! so off I went, down the street to get some breakfast. got a call after a bit saying they couldn't complete the work because the inner tie rods and lower ball joints need attention. which sounds mostly reasonable since the ball joints are the only things that haven't been replaced in the last ten years. no pressure, just let them know if/when it gets done... so I get to do some front end work over the weekend and we'll have another go at this :-\ so all that happened today was an oil change. completely not their fault they couldn't get to the rest of it... turns out the tie rod ends are okay but the ball joints are bad enough for two or three additional parts. seriously, close to 1/4" of slop in those things, amazing that they didn't come apart on their own just sitting there... so the little white truck is back together and I can afford to have the alignment done! everyone wins!!

I just had three vehicles inspected at Lakepoint Auto. I have to say they are friendly, efficient,…read moreand honest. The third vehicle inspected had tinted front door windows that don't meet North Carolina standards. They gave me the option of taking the vehicle back and removing the tint and then bringing back, or failing the inspection, which would have costed me $30. I took the vehicle back and removed the tinting film and called Lakepoint back up and they got it in immediately for the inspection. I really appreciated their honesty and the chance the correct the problem before they moved forward. In the future, I'll be bringing my vehicles to Lakepoint Auto for service work
