While some of the reviews online seemed hit or miss, my experience was positive. I did have to call…read moremore than once, but after some back and forth we were able to set a date to have my property surveyed and the perimeter marked. The surveyors showed up at the date and time expected and did the job at the agreed upon for the price we agreed upon. I did have to follow up on the final documents and making a payment but was not a hardship considering some of the other challenges I have had with services from contractors in Fairplay.

I contacted Tom Bennett in October of 2016 as soon as I purchased my land in Park County. He told…read moreme that he was overwhelmed and that it would be at least " a few weeks" till he could get my survey done. I was OK with that so I offered my credit card number and told him that I looked forward to his work. Here is the history after the original contact, I have it all well documented: November 2016 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". December 2016 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". January 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". February 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". March 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". April 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". May 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". June 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". July 2017 - I contacted him and was told that " I will get it done in the next few weeks". August 3, 2017 - Someone else is answering the phone now. He became rude and insulting. You should know that every single time that I called them, I had to again give them the legal description of the property, my contact information, my request details etc...every time!! If you need land surveying in Park County, just pay the extra bucks to bring in a reliable Denver based company. You will save money and anxiety.

The estimate came in a lot higher than was expected. I believe that some businesses think that…read morebecause we live in an upscale neighborhood it's ok to charge more than the job is actually worth. I live in Leydon Rock so a lot of businesses just see dollar signs. I need a simple survey done in an established neighborhood where it should be easy to determine boundary lines. I don't need a new survey filed. I just need to establish where the boundary lines are. The job should cost less than a thousand dollars at the most. But I was quoted $1,500 dollars plus the cost of filing a survey report that I don't need. I have a survey report that I will hand to the surveyor for reference to find and mark clear boundaries on my property. That should not cost $1,500 dollars plus filing fees. The business owner wrote a reply so let me clarify. If I erred in stating that the $1500 included the cost of filing a survey report then that makes the estimate of $1,500 without a survey report filing even more egregious. That means that he intended for me to pay $1,500 PLUS a filing fee for an official survey report. The owner states that the estimate is based on the size of my property but he does not not know the size of my property because he didn't ask and he says he is not familiar with Leydon Rock which has thousands of homes in the neighborhood. Curious that he is unfamiliar with such a large area. The fact is that I was quoted a high estimate without asking for any real details and that in and of itself is troubling, especially when the next quote I received was $500 lower. As for my venting, well I see it as educating business regarding what is acceptable customer service and acceptable pricing for service. Pay attention and learn what customers want and what we are willing to spend our hard earned money on.

When I called them to survey my daughter's residential lot in downtown Denver they showed up on the day, at the hour and to the minute they said they would be there, completed the job in less time than expected, and while there Justin explained exactly what he was doing and why. Their drawings were precise, well organized, and understandable. Even though it's difficult to precisely estimate a job because of unanticipated circumstances, their cost was exactly the same as was quoted, and compared to other Denver surveyors, was very reasonable. They will get all my Denver business !!
