I spent the winter being trained by Brendan. I am a 55-year old who previously had some firearm experience and knowledge, along with my concealed carry, but I wanted to learn more about shooting fundamentals and safety. Brandan is one of the best teachers I have ever worked with in any field. He first spent time evaluating my skill level, and how I think when I shoot. Then, week-to-week, he taught me shooting fundamentals, proper grip, proper trigger presses (not trigger pulls), shooting drills, movement, pre-competition thought process, proper sight acquisition, etc. He always made me feel comfortable while putting me in various situations in order to move me from "being in my head" to being completely comfortable with my firearms and shooting. He is very encouraging and natural at teaching the skills needed to excel at firearms. I also took part in the monthly competitions. Before my first match, Brendan walked me through the process and made sure I was comfortable and had the right gear before I competed. The competitions are fun and safe, and everyone involved is extremely friendly and helpful. I feel the competitions are worthwhile for both new and experienced shooters alike. read more
