They've got a fairly nice display of kitchens and bathrooms, although these are more expensive than comparable quality ranges at Ikea. The garden centre is also not too bad but you'd really only want to buy the stuff if it was on offer. I like that this branch seems to have more than the normal share of older members of staff - better knowledge and better service normally. Decent car park, and quite easy to get to just off the Peaks Parkway. The usual infuriating idiots who park in the parent & toddler spaces, and the usual staff who are not interested in this when you report them - they're there for a reason, people!!!

The service can vary wildly; usually depending on the amount of staff available and how busy it is, but generally the staff are quite good and helpful - although on my most recent visit it appears that they have removed the customer service desk!!! The prices are reasonably low apart from the more specialised items which don't tend to be competitive because of the lack of local competition. As a major retailer they have a large range of the diy/gardeneing items that you would expect at different price points but as with some of the other major retailers it pays to pop in early morning before it gets busy to spot the bargains - some of the manager specials are fantastic but they sell out very fast. We got a fantastic deal on turf the other summer and we laid a lawn in our garden for next to nothing and the turf was high quality and hard wearing. The gardening section is not very good with a preponderance for power tools and the plants are not very well kept.

Home bargains stocks everything from shampoos and toothpaste, to children's toys and games, all at excellent prices. I have found some excellent bargains in here, and for everyday goods, such as bleach, toothpaste, toilet roll, I always come here. It is also excellent for picking up biscuits and sweets, with many of them half the price of what they are in the supermarkets. Home Bargains also have some small items of furnotusre, paintings, etc, all at around half the rrp, but these are all things you would have to pick up as you saw them, as they're not likely to be there next time you come!

Dunelm Mill stocks most things for the home that you can think of-towels, curtains, toilet seats, pots and pans, everything. I find Dunelm Mill to be an excellent value home store, and always stock up on things such as food storers/plastic containers while I'm there as I find them such good value. Dunelm has a car park, but is not very easy to get to if you don't drive. The nearest bus stop is a 10-15 minute drive away- a fair way to walk if you're laden down with bags. So if possible, grab a lift!

The shop is large and they sell a wide variety of goods, mainly soft furnishings such as bedding, curtains, towels, table linens and fabric on the roll. They also have other household goods like kitchen accessories, lighting and storage. There's a small cafe which is nice as there isn't a great deal else on the industrial estate, and they are quite reasonably priced. All in, it's a really nice shop if you're looking to furnish a home on a budget.

Screwfix is a great place to shop for everything you need be it trade or DIY…read more It is owned by the B&Q company although is actually cheaper than B&Q. Is in the style of an Argos, search through the catalogue, write down what items you want and take it to the till to pay. They always have a wide range of items in stock. Staff don't seem overly helpful when it comes to taking your order but are pleasant enough. I would definitely always go here instead of the larger DIY stores as its cheaper and saves wandering round aisle after aisle trying to locate one item.
