I went here to get my simple, plain white gold wedding band sized up. The woman who took my ring said, no problem, see you Saturday. Saturday I get a call and a woman said that they broke my wedding band! And, it will require another $120 for the extra gold to repair the ring. I drove up to the store and after being shuffled around, I was able to speak to the owner, Ryan, explaining this situation and how I expected him to repair and fix this. He agreed and said it would be ready the next day. Next day get a call from yet another employee, apparently the repair guy, and he apologized and said they don't have the ability to re-engrave the ring where it was broken. Said they had to send it out, would be another 2-3 weeks. At this point, I just came and picked up the ring. I don't think I would be as upset as I am if I was warned from the beginning that this was a possibility. It was very upsetting to see my wedding band cracked. read more

I went to Randy's to sell some jewelry a few years ago... at the time, I had been widowed for almost a year and could use some cash. I had an old class ring and some other gold jewelry I decided to sell. One of the jewelry pieces I brought to Randy's was a gold ring of my grandmother's. It was not my style and was in yellow gold (and I wear white gold). But, the ring had 5 high quality diamonds in it, so I thought I would sell the yellow gold and was hoping one of the diamonds could be moved to replace the missing stone in my engagement ring. When I arrived, Randy came to the counter to talk to me, and seemed very nice. He looked at what I had and commented on what nice diamonds were in my grandmother's gold ring. He said that he could replace the diamond in my set, but my grandmother's were the wrong size for my ring, so they wouldn't work. I said I didn't have the money to buy a replacement diamond right now. He then offered to trade one of my grandmother's diamonds for a lower quality, correctly sized diamond to replace the missing stone in my engagement ring. Since I was struggling financially, I decided to take his offer. When I picked up my ring, the one diamond he replaced looked slightly different... I thought it might be a tiny bit larger than the other diamonds in the ring and not as sparkly. But he HAD told me previously that he would be putting a lower quality diamond in the ring, so I chalked it up to that. Since I was widowed, I was probably going to start wearing it on a chain anyway.... So, I decided to just leave it alone. Many months later, I decided that I wanted to have the diamonds from my engagement ring made into a pendant. I went to Randy's again, but he wasn't there. There was a woman working behind the counter, and I told her what I was thinking about doing. She looked at my ring and said "Looks like you have a synthetic stone here," pointing at the stone Randy had replaced. I started to cry and took my ring and walked out. I have been mulling this over for quite some time, deeply hurt. I "lost" my grandmother's diamond.... a diamond I thought I was sacrificing to make another extremely sentimental piece of jewelry whole again. Ordered a watch band on 4/16/22 and was quoted a price. I have a copy of the order envelope showing what we were quoted. They called on 4/27/22 and said it was in. Go up there and was not in. Was told it was on back order although they called me and said it was in. They said if it was going to be a long time they had another company they could order from. Nowhere in that conversation was I told it would cost more. Even when they took upon themselves to go ahead and order from other company they did not even call the customer to ok the price difference. Get a call this week saying band is in. Go in and was charged more than originally quoted. When I questioned, the girl at the counter asked the manager and was told that was the price and I could wait for the other one if I wanted. This is after they already put the band on the watch that they disclose the higher price. The girl at the counter was rude and when I called up to talk to manager it was just excuses. I get it business is hard right now but you also need to do the right things and inform customers instead of taking upon yourself to order something more expensive. This is a big deal because it's for a man on a fixed income. Don't worry Randy's Jewelry I will make up the difference for my dad. But you should have be upfront and honest with the customer. I took 6 pieces of fine jewelry to Randy's Jewelry Inc at 309 S Main St, O'Fallon, MO 63366 to sell in response to their advertised desire to purchase such. My initial exchange with the woman behind the counter was very friendly and reassuring as she acknowledged I was offering jewelry featuring precious gems and not scrap to be melted down. She professed to me that no harm would be inflicted upon my property while introducing me with a graceful sweep of the hand to the metallurgist/jeweler men in the back room, who appeared to be earnestly at work, as they looked up and offered an affirming nod. I now know this is all a BS show for the perceived sucker that walked through the door and is about to get plucked clean (that would be me.) Their performances' were all a charade straight out of a Charles Dickens' novel, and all for me. What!X#? Was my response to the pittance offered as I inspected the open wounds inflicted upon my returned treasure now deposited on top the counter between us. "We had to test it" was her immediate offence in reaction to the astonished bewilderment which had devoured me. "Why hadn't you merely employed a jeweler's loupe to inspect the stones?" I pleaded, as one of the metallurgist/jeweler men in the back room jumped up to come forward to testify "a file is required to 'shave off a sufficient amount' of metal for testing." My second helping of inflicted anguish produces Randy, the owner himself, as he cries out they require $8 to repair each 'required sampling location' as his knotted quizzical face is thrust across the counter in some kind of primal display as he bellows "we don't work for free around here!" defending the $48 I need to pay them to repair my property they damaged! No kidding folks; this guy is a loon...stay away, and you'll be all the better for it. - Warn your friends. read more

This is my first review and I don't normally do them. But Randy's warranted a exception. I brought in custom designs for my husbands wedding band and all my bridesmaid gift, which were perfect and beautifully done. Admittedly I tend to run things right down to the wire which is what I did again, but they got my item back to my with time to spare, and I can't say enough about how perfect everything turned out. This isn't my first time there. I've bought watches, earring and had other custom items made, and never been anything but perfect. They have also done repairs for me. I have shopped around, so I know what other places cost and the best price are always at Randy's. The best part is last time I shopped around I was wearing a few of my items from Randy's when the people at the store I was shopping started swooning over them (earrings and rings).
