This is a review of Brad Feig, owner of A & J. Beware of his bait and switch. We had an…read more"evaluation" with him yesterday at his Holbrook office. Waited almost a month for this and when we walked into his incredibly dirty, (actual dirt pile on floor in waiting room), office, he was there on a big screen instead of in person. Nobody told us this was a zoom meeting. He was cold, unfriendly and never even introduced himself. Just saw his name on the screen below his face. We were there for an evaluation to get ABA Therapy and already had 2 different cognitively disabling diagnoses for our son, none of which are Autism. Brad immediately went into diagnosing our son for Autism. I told him this was not why we were there; that our son has been with Drs his entire life since birth and he does not have autism; that he still qualifies for ABA Therapy based on his other diagnoses. Brad had us fill out these horrible, confusing and redundant questions on this really faded xerox copied papers, signed off his screen then came back on to review them. He told us again that he would be diagnosing our son with Autism. I pointed out to him that this entire time we were in there, (about an hour), he never once even said hello to our son! Never once interacted with him or even called his name to see him respond! Who makes an Autism diagnosis without even meeting the patient? His response to me was "I have cameras in there." ...It was a complete waste of time and I'm sorry I even subjected my family to that dirty office. Brad Feig said he wouldn't offer us any services without an Autism diagnosis. This was never told to us before and it was a total scam. He should be shut down for his unethical, bait and switch tactics. Unless you're looking for an Autism diagnosis, nobody should ever go here and even if you are, go somewhere that doesn't operate in filth and hides behind a big screen.

They lie about treating ADHD to get you in and then try to lie, in a wildly unprofessional manner even, to convince you that your child has autism so they can charge insurance. The guy Feig that runs the scam isnt even a good scam artist, he sort of solves for the lowest common denominator. Bottom line, STAY AWAY.

TAKE IT FROM ALFREDO (A Former Employee Who Wrote A Review…read moreIn Spanish) TRANSLATION "one of the worst organizations in which they treat the employees there like chess pieces that they use and once they no longer need them, they throw them out on the street. Like when they tell them the truth, what they do is fire them. Without acknowledging the hard work they do. It is because of these people that clients come and the number increases. And in the end they (PFY) tell them, don't worry, that's what they pay you for and someone else replaces you. It's an outrage to do it to such dedicated people to the community, instead of working together in our community. We create enemies and barriers. It disgusts me that people like them have been paid, with a lot of favoritism. In that case, they should not be part of the LGBT community working for an LGBT ORGANIZATION. That's why many friends and I will look for another group in the community where employees and customers are treated with respect. I hope someone reads this comment and tries to do something to evaluate what kind of staff they have (at PFY). But since most of them are Americans, I doubt (anyone will) let them do something." NOTE: There are other reviews online that express glowing comments about PFY. It is true that individuals can have differing experiences. But glowing reviews and a review like the one that Alfredo posted can not possibly co-exist as being accurate in both cases. The employee turnover rate at PFY is exceedingly high, even by nonprofit standards. That suggests that Alfredo's assessment is more likely to be the more accurate one.

Trying to find a balance between the needs of yourself, your children, and your soon-to-be…read moreex-spouse was the most difficult thing I've ever been through. It is emotionally draining and was (in my case) months of fear, panic, anger, and depression. As a father of three, I couldn't imagine a single day where I couldn't spend time with my kids. But the reality was that I would have to learn to live with it. Their mother and I were to have shared custody and that meant that I would only see them 50% of the time. I didn't want our family to be torn apart. I had forgiven her affairs and addictions to drugs and alcohol, but she thought her life would be better on her own. We divorced, and I began the process of trying to learn how to be a single dad and provide my kids with as much of a normal life as possible. I count myself to be very fortunate to have had the assistance of Dana and Don at Mediation and Family counseling. While the divorce has been final for a while, I use them as a resource for issues dealing with my children and their mother. Unfortunately, her substance abuse problems have not gotten better, and she continues to try to poison the relationship between my me and my children. Don and Dana's experiences in dealing with all types of family situations have given them the wisdom and background to help me with sound advice and practical methods to talk to my kids and avoid getting dragged down into the negative and vindictive world of my ex-wife. Not only would I recommend Dana and Don for anyone else needing mediation or counseling, I continue to use them to this day. They have been a lifeline for me when I thought that there was no hope. They know family law and work towards reducing conflict and alienation - especially when kids are involved. They have helped me make the best of a bad situation and helped me to understand the needs and feelings of my children and ex-wife. Their expert advice and experience, along with their practical methods for dealing with conflict, have given me and my kids a healthier and more stable life together. Andrew Winters
