This is where your people go to die. Never send anyone to this place if you care for them at all, it is the worst facility I have ever seen or heard of. My 82 year old father was transferred here from Integris SW Medical Center (thanks a lot Integris!) for "skilled nursing" after a traumatic knee replacement surgery. What a joke! After being there about 3 hours, he pushed the call button for help because he had to use the restroom, could not reach the urinal, and could not get up and go to the restroom. No one came to help. After about an hour, he got out of bed and somehow got to the restroom, where he slid to the floor and accidentally peed on himself, then couldn't get up. He pulled the emergency cord for help but it broke off in his hand. He screamed and screamed "help!" "help!" No one came. He grabbed the leg of the potty chair and slammed the chair against the wall again and again. No one came. Finally, who knows how long he rolled and spun around on that cold wet floor after his traumatic knee surgery, but someone came and picked him up, chewing him out for getting out of bed. When I arrived, I scrubbed his blood off the bathroom walls where his bandaged wound had scraped and finished cleaning up the restroom. We were all very upset about this, of course, and my sister went to speak to the desk person and the aid to find out what happened. The desk person told her they didn't like her tone and Carlos the aid said he wasn't going to answer her questions. They told my sister not to keep his walker in the room with him, even though Integris hospital told her to keep that walker with him, it was HER fault he fell! Yeah, that's it, HER fault! LOL! Now today THEY have placed a walker in the room with him. But that's ok because they did it, right? They told us if we didn't want him to fall again, we would have to stay with him 24/7, but today, 4 days later, some other administrator told my sister we are not allowed to stay in his room with him. I don't know what we can do to keep him from falling again but obviously they don't care. He was placed in the Covid wing even though he hasn't had a covid vaccine. They gave us plastic face shields to wear over our facemasks when we visit, but we quickly realized that no one on that wing was wearing a shield except us, and most employees were not even wearing a mask! The ones that were, including my dad's aid, wore them improperly and had the mask pulled down under their noses. Nice! Dad has been there since Friday right after lunch, and today, Tuesday, is the first day he is getting one of his prescriptions because their "system wasn't talking to itself" and they didn't know, even though my sister kept asking about his meds! The "covid wing" is a different entity in their system. We know he has not been getting his proper medications. They leave him writhing in pain for hours as well, even after telling him they can supplement his pain meds if they are not effective. They won't answer our questions about his meds, they don't know, they have to get someone else, they can't get into the computer, etc. etc. It is so agonizing to hear your aged father constantly moaning in pain and you feel so helpless. He ran out of soap and paper towels in the restroom. Soap was replaced in a few hours but it took over 24 hours to get the towels refilled. We just shook the water off our hands and dried on our clothes. On our 3rd day there, the lady at the desk wouldn't let my daughter visit her grandfather because there were "too many people in the room". She did not know how many people were there, she did not go look, and there was only one visitor there, me! We are from out of state and family has flown in to be supportive. My daughter left without visiting. His first breakfast was served late, after 9 AM. The scrambled eggs, toast and sausage were not only cold, they were sickeningly ice cold. He decided to eat the corn flakes provided but had to request the milk and sugar he needed, as well as his morning coffee. There are some kind and caring people there (Connie, Vickie), but it is my observation that they are few and far between. We stayed in the room with him to attend to his needs as they are extremely neglectful, and now we are not allowed to stay and protect our father even though no one else is in that room! We are taking care of him and drastically cutting down on their call light runs but oh well. My dad is being held captive, we can't get him moved because Integris put him there (he fell at Integris too!! excellent medical care! Avoid the Integris chain at all costs!!!) and medicare won't pay for another facility. I beg of you, if you care for your loved one at all, please never send them to this dismal, bleak, dispiriting, demoralizing awful place. read more

After quite an illness, I lost use of my thighs which I've used for 15 years + to transfer from wheelchair to whatever (paraplegia for 27 years). I came here because it's about a mile and a half from our home. I'm here to sing some praises. REHAB PROS are excellent and kind. Ali, Corey, Amber, Reese and Kelly are incredible. Terrible place for your elderly loved ones. They do not take care of them the way they should be cared for. They do not listen, they don't follow through on anything and they never call you back and for that matter won't answer the phone. My mother was there a day and half before she died in their care. This place needs to be investigated. read more

My MIL has been in this facility for almost 2 years now. She is here from a fall she suffered. Her daughter had her living with her family for 6 months, but the care required was too much as she has some medical issues herself. MIL has dementia and Ranchwood was recommended by an employee who had a family member living there. Personally, I think Ranchwood has done a wonderful job with MIL. The facility is clean, doesn't have that nursing home smell. Security seems good. You must buzz in and to leave you have to know the code and punch it in on the keypad correctly. Everyone from sales people to family have a sign in book at the front desk. The desk is always staffed during the day and early evening. The dining room has tables for those who can feed themselves and a group table for those who can't with an employee feeding up to 5 residents. I have not eaten the food, but it looks pretty basic hospital type. They post the menu daily. Ranchwood also has a beauty shop and someone who comes in and does the residents nails. You make an appointment with the service you want and can pay after service is provided. MIL has fallen twice while here. Broke her hip. I cannot fault the staff as when the fall happened MIL was still pretty mobile and they had her in a wheel chair which allowed her to stand on her own. After the fall, the doctor had a different chair with a slope back which is cannot get up on her own. She's been in the chair about 9 months and it's a gem. The residents not only get 3 meals a day, but some who need the extra calories get a snack between meals. The rooms are double occupancy and one side is a bit bigger than the other, and one side may have a window and the other no window. They have Hospice in now to help care for MIL as she needs additional care that the staff needs help with. I have no complaints with the facility, management or the staff. I would recommend this as a possibility if you're looking for someplace for your loved one to be admitted. read more
