The course was nice and kept for sure green fairways and greens. I play a lot of golf and I personally do NOT think it's worth $150 for public. It's more of a $60-$80 course. Loved this course. Some forgiving fairways. But I wanted to say I had an early tee and wasn't picked up from the hotel like the front desk said. They made up because the Starter, I think his name is Brandon, was super cool and very attentive. The breakfast sandwich was above norm too! read more

Our family began playing Rancho Las Palmas back in the late 1970's. Usually in good to great condition in the past. We play this property often as we are local residents. We played yesterday 5-22-2024. The conditions were poor for Spring golf. Standing water in areas that were extremely muddy/saturated. Really bedraggled conditions. Standing water in some bunkers with some bunkers extremely hard you can't even see foot prints, or rake. Many areas really drying out as well. There are three 9 holes here. North, South, and West. Today the four of us played North West. Total yardage approximately 6200 from black. We finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes. $59 green fee. The North course was hilly while the West course had several water hazards plus a wash. It appeared the North was straddled by private homes whereas the South anchored by the Omni Resort. Fairways were well maintained. Lots of locals with personal golf carts playing here. All in all a nice course. read more

Played this course during a recent stay at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas thinking it would be the easiest golf option being affiliated with the resort. Unfortunately, I would definitely not recommend this course - the condition left a lot to be desired - the bunkers were horrendous, the greens were bare and the fairways were spotty. It's offensive the price they were charging for this course given the other amazing options in the desert at this price point. I would've been annoyed paying a third of the price I paid for this course. The staff were perfectly friendly and some of the holes were interesting, but just a terrible value. I came here to visit a friend to play golf. I always give you the benefit of the doubt and hate to write bad reviews but this was my experience and my observation here. The golf course was sub par and muddy...it was not maintained properly so our group decided to quit after the 3rd hole. We decided to go to the club house and grab a beer and some food. We told a Nolan Dean the situation about the golf course and how bad it was maintained. He was so rude and unprofessional. He yelled at us and we just left the clubhouse disappointed. I found out later this a**hole was the Relations Manager. Are you kidding me?? I will never come here to golf nor step foot into the clubhouse. I'll spend my money elsewhere.i dont know how he got hired here. He needs to learn to treat customers with at least courtesy. Take a class in customer service! If you got problems at home, DO NOT bring it to work. What a waste of a good weekend. read more

As a homeowner right now I am so embarrassed to take anybody there much less golf myself. I did this morning and the course is so bad. It's wet and muddy and dead stuff. The greens were oddly mushy and bumpy. We did get a lot of rain over a month ago. It should be clean by now. Also there's a lot of broken sprinklers or overly wet ones. We drove through a few puddles like huge puddles. It was not fun nor pretty. The surrounding area is pretty and I know RLP can be so much better. read more

My driver was stolen out of my bag as I was putting on the putting green. They would never let me see the video as my bag was sitting right in front of their cart barn camera. My debit card was compromised the day after I left. I've spent two weeks waiting to talk to someone in the pro shop to see if maybe my driver was recovered. Not an answer yet.. Currently on a 10+ minute hold with pro shop that they will never come back to. Worst weekend experience of my life probably. read more

This is a bad golf course. We played the North and South courses. The North course is a cow patch. Horrible. Up and down into the drainage gully. Large patches of dirt or muddy holes. No sand in the traps. I understand they have had some weather damage but they should not call this golf. The South course is in much better shape although I would rate it a 3 of 5. If you are a beginner then just play the south course if you can. Otherwise skip this one. read more

Sadly, this was the worst golf course I have ever played on. The greens were in awful condition. The maintenance, grass cutting,etc was sub par. But worst of all you were expected to play through an unmaintained ravine. There was obvious construction/repair but we were not notified of the conditions we were to face. My husband and I played here on a Friday for a tee time less than $100 for both of us. We played the south and west courses, each are 9 holes. The starter was extremely nice and let us play by ourselves since I was a bit nervous to play with a group. It did make for a slower round but we were ok with that. We teed off around 1pm. The first nine were pretty and difficult enough for us. The back nine, first few holes were in sort of a drainage area. It was interesting and hadn't ever experienced anything like that. The carts had nice GPS which helped us as first timers understand the holes. The course had geese on it and that was fun to experience. We have a lovely time and enjoyed our day. Our only complaint is the club house closes early. We were hoping to grab a shirt or hat but when we were done with our round the club house was closed. Lesson learned for us. We would play the course again. read more

First time here. We played all 27 holes. Price this time of year 5 stars Customer service 5 stars (gentleman at guard gate, starter and maintenance guys on course) Par threes not 'give mes' 4 stars. South course seemed in best condition. I'm not a fan of playing in the wash (here you get your share of that) and greens slow. Favorite hole (probably their signature hole), Hole 5 on West 9. Par four that has green right behind hotel. Just a gorgeous hole. One South unexpectedly challenging for first approach shot of the day. Good course for a hotel property but not one I'd run back to play in season. My rating is mostly based off of layout and speed of greens. Sorry, I just don't like "the wash" read more

We played yesterday with friends. Price was right but the staff there had been very rude and unprofessional. This one starter startled us loudly by yelling, "HEY!" as we tried to practice on the putting green area. His Reason-being...there had been a delay due to the frost and he wanted us off. Could have asked us nicely to wait. Never had such an unpleasant greeting(?) by a staff at a country club before. There also was one guest on premises without a mask who even got to spit all over the ground, yet not one staff would say a thing. That said guest kept on spitting as I walked by. Very unsanitary and unsightly even without the danger of COVID 19 there. Not going back anytime soon. read more

Found a deal on TeeOff.com for $79 first out on North/West Thanksgiving morning. You can definitely tell the facilities are aged and are ready for a facelift. The carts were decent but no GPS, etc and the divot mix was barely filled. The course itself is in nice shape from tee to green. You can definitely score here due to the short Par 4s but the cups were not forgiving so it's a give and take. Note: would have been nice to know that the West course was cart path only ahead of time. Overall I would say that it seems a bit over priced just slightly. read more

Solid golf outing on the South course, still needed more seed and water but for the price you can't beat it. Shankers beware it is riddled with condos on left and right almost every hole. I will have to add there is an old guy in the sixth hole that will come out of his house if you're near the right rough and tell u not to break his $7K window, some these retired folks need a better hobby than hassling golfers. This course is about a 3.75 star affair... The SOUTH course is currently in okay shape but the NORTH course is much greener and in better shape. They're re-seeding the West course so possibly the South course is due next. The GREENS on the South and North are snail slow. We adapted some as we went along but these greens belong elsewhere because they may be the slowest in California. I don't think we've seen anything like it in this state. Thus, it took us a while to adjust. I am not a fan of really slow greens so it was a rough putting day on the first few holes for sure. The STAFF in the pro shop are friendly and helpful. The interior definitely has that old skool country club look and feel which I can appreciate. The locker room has towels which goes along with that country club touch. Another plus since we were heading out of town afterwards and would be meeting friends for dinner. You can fill up on water outside the snack shack. There are some steep hills for sure and there are flat holes as well. Oddly enough most of the steep hill holes look similar and the flat holes look similar. As a result, this course isn't terribly exciting overall but it definitely isn't boring either. Unfortunately, we treat ourselves when on vacation or at times locally where we reside and have played courses like Black Gold, Omni La Costa: Carlsbad, Strawberry Farms, The Dunes (Pete Dye), Gary Player (Westin), Pete Dye (Westin) so maybe we expected a bit more down here in the "Golf Capital of California". read more

The tracks here a super fun if a bit easy to play. The course has 27 holes with various combinations available for play. The blue tees run short about 6100 yards. For the most part the condition of the courses are excellent. They like many courses that use the wash area, they suffer when it rains so depending upon the year you may find several of the holes a bit beat up. Prices in April are a deal. The course is pretty empty after mid April. I played 18 in 2 hours yesterday. Not a course for shankers; the condos on some holes are close to the fairway. read more

Amazing, one of the best times I had with my boys, everyone here is friendly and courteous...place was perfectly groomed...played a twilight starting at 1pm and they let us play thru all 3 9 hole courses!!
