Event Date: 01/15/2023 Time: 1-4pm…read more Love this venue. Over a month ago, I was looking for a venue to host my son's 1st Birthday. Ultimately, I selected Wee Gather because of the services they offered and the excellent reviews on Yelp. I originally requested January 8th as the party date, but Sierra (my party coordinator) said this date was no longer available and suggested January 15th, which I booked. I had the Custom Gathering which included venue rental for two hours (I paid $125 for an extra hour, for a total of three hours), setup + clean up, tables + chairs, themed event design + styling + decorating of event space, coordinator for the planning process, themed decor + serve water, balloon garland w/custom colors, flowers, coffee bar, fully stocked mini fridge, use of projector and patio area, and access to additional furnishings (which will have extra fees depending on what you rent). This info is from the from Wee Gather website. I booked the space on 12/2/22, a little over a month before the event (01/15/23). At the time of booking, the Custom Gathering w/extra hour + rental of cooler cost me $1,150 ($975 for the Custom Gathering, $125 the extra hour, and $50 for the cooler rental). On the website, the Custom Gathering now starts at $1,299. My party coordinator, Sierra Mathews, was excellent in executing the Super Mario theme of my son's 1st Birthday Party and was super responsive whenever I had inspiration pictures or any small changes to the proposal. I even toured the venue a couple of weeks before the event. Sierra, Oceana, and Amber decorated the space so beautifully and was so gracious to help my family and I bring in the food we had catered from various restaurants of my choosing (you can also request catering from Wee Gather, who most likely have connections to caterers). The projector came in handy because I made a PowerPoint with transitions to show the growth of my son over the year and also the speaker for the music. If you are looking for an awesome space to host a kid's birthday or baby shower, this is the place. The cost is totally worth it because I am a busy mom and Sierra and her team literally did everything, I just provided the inspiration photos for the them. All the guests had a good time and loved the theme. Although my son was a little fussy throughout the party (not used to so many people), I think he secretly enjoyed the party. She then offered a 20% refund and asked me to change my review, which I again declined. She claimed that despite paying for full event planning services, the event was subpar because I hadn't been involved in planning it. They didn't call. They didn't ask me to go their warehouse. They didn't do anything until the week of the event, when they tried to fit me into their random available times to walk them through my space via FaceTime. To clarify, I paid $2,000 for someone to plan and orchestrate an event. What I received was maybe a $200-$300 setup, and it's apparently my fault for not planning the event I paid someone to plan. She argued that I should have requested changes during the setup. However, I wasn't home at the time. The whole point of hiring this service was to arrive at a fully set-up event with my guests. When I arrived, they were still setting up as my guests were arriving (even though they were supposed to have been gone by then). So, there wasn't time to make changes, and it would have been an awkward conversation anyway. Instead of blaming me, they should have done the job they were paid to do or not sold the package in the first place. To add insult to injury, she compared this situation to eating a pizza and then requesting a refund. This was over $2k. It's not even close to ordering a pizza and asking for a refund. She ripped me off. I stand by my request for a full refund. She should have offered that refund on her own. This event was pitiful. I will never use their services again or recommend them to anyone.

And - I am so honored to say, we were their first guests! Being a wife, mother of two grown children, and grandmother to 4 littles, I spend a lot of time with our family. These days, with my grandchildren ranging from 2-7 years old, that time isn't always spent focused on the adults in the family (do we even remember how to have an adult conversation? LOL). So, I wanted to do something special for my husband, our children, and their spouses. My idea was to celebrate "just because"!We are winegrape farmers and winemakers; having just finished our harvest for the year! There are no birthdays or anniversaries in our immediate family in October. And we hadn't hit the holiday season yet. So this truly was just because. Happy to have harvest season behind me, in choosing our "theme" of the picnic, I requested an emphasis on Autumn. Our setting was my daughter's backyard. GARDENIA PICNIC transformed it into a magical, Fall setting; with Autumn colors, and foods - including a gorgeous autumnal themed cake! Yum!! The decor was exquisite; down to the small details. Everything was thought out thoroughly and placed perfectly. Being a "picnic", and not a full-blown traditional meal, the foods were appropriate to that, and in very generous proportions. The menu offers a nice variety of items, and we all enjoyed the selections tremendously! We were blown away by the beauty and thoughtful touches of our picnic!
