We were looking for a dentist, in 2014, after having a really bad experience with another local dentist that totally messed up a crown that I needed. The dentist, in question, did a poor job with the crown and refused to be bothered with alleviating the pain I was having after his repair. Fortunately, I found Dr. McClaran and he took me on as a patient to correct the problem temporarily at no charge. We had to leave for Germany, where I worked, and when I returned to Cape Coral, after retirement, in 2016, we became regular patients of his. He and his team have taken care of my family for the last nine years. His professionalism has never wavered and he makes sure that all the care he provides is the best! He is an amazing Dentist and I would wholeheartedly recommend him and his team to anyone needing dental care from a group that really cares about their patients!

It immediately puts you at ease. They are incredibly efficient without ever making you feel rushed. I've never waited more than five minutes to be called back, and the doctor usually sees me within another five minutes of sitting down. I have pretty severe anxiety when it comes to needles, and this is the first place where I've truly felt comfortable. They use numbing gel, talk me through everything, and even use small techniques like gentle air to distract me. It makes a huge difference, and you can tell they genuinely care about your experience, not just the procedure. I've had cleanings, fillings, and crowns done here, and every time the care has been excellent. The team is experienced, attentive, and very personal, which makes each visit feel much more relaxed. What really stands out is the level of care beyond the appointment. The doctor has personally reached back out after hours to check in and help me schedule when I was having concerns, and they always follow up after procedures. I had made an appointment for her to replace 2 crowns on 2 teeth that would also be seen when I smile. I had the appointment & made a 250$ deposit, initially I wasn't happy with the implant crown- it was too white and even stuck out a bit, but decided not to make a big deal about it. My teeth are white- but not as white as the crown and it wasn't until I saw a picture of me smiling that I realized how bad it looked. 24hrs before, I cancelled my appointment to have the other crowns replaced because I was concerned about them not being able to match these crowns either. I then made an appointment to see Dr Parsons to see if there was anything they could do this implant crown. Dr Parsons literally spent less than 1-2 minutes with me. I was with the assistant, who was very rude to me. I wanted to talk to DR PARSONS because she is the DENTIST! The assistant couldn't even answer all of my questions, and it was clear that both she AND Dr Parsons were put out by the fact that I was there. I looked again, with the assistant, at other colors to possibly replace the crown with but we couldn't find one. My concern about getting new crowns not matching were quite real. Thank goodness I cancelled the appointment and didn't spend 4,000 bucks on crowns that would look terrible. But I was out 250$ for cancelling my appointment ( I cancelled 24, not 48 hrs prior). I think the reason was understandable, however. I mentioned this to the assistant who said, "well, you should have shown up for your appointment". She could not have have been more snotty! I told her I did cancel more than 24hrs prior. She said, "we booked a lot of time for you." Then she said I should have come in that day to discuss it with Dr Parsons. She was hateful and honestly, it was upsetting. Even after we couldn't match the color of the crown, Dr Parsons couldn't be bothered to come back in. I just to go to my other dentist who had done all my other work but is 2500 miles away, so next time I fly there to visit my kids I'll have to spend hours at dentist- instead of with my kids. AND I'll have to pay 2,000 dollars to replace the implant crown, plus paying for the other 2 crowns. And I'm out 250$. And I'm on disability- I don't have dental insurance. I've never been treated so badly ever, by any dentist office. They don't care about the quality of their work. Stay away. I wanted to add to this. When I went back to my dentist in CA, they said that the crown should be redone. They also felt it was not only the wrong color, but it's not the right size. They are cosmetic dentists in S Ca and have been in practice over 30yrs. But now I have to pay over 2,000$ for them to replace the crown that Dr Parsons had placed. I paid Dr Parsons over 2,000$. Money WASTED, that I don't have. Dr Parsons is not a cosmetic dentist. She couldn't care less about the work she does-as long as she gets your money. There are things to be taken into consideration when placing a crown- not just color. She should know this.

The morning of the extraction, receptionists tried telling me my insurance covered things I already confirmed with them it did not. They changed the extraction price increasing it to over $700 before insurance. (It was $426 on the prior treatment plan before insurance.) The temporary flipper I paid $1000 looked awful. However the last time I was there Dr. D…read more came in and examined one of my back molars and told me that there was decay under the crown and that 'there would be no pain' since I'd already had a root canal there. I went to my dentist in Michigan and asked about this situation - he checked carefully for decay under that crown and could find none. X-rays and further evaluations since then have never found any decay or evidence of anything requiring further attention. That would have been an expensive and unnecessary procedure to remove the crown and repair decay that wasn't there in the first place. I won't go back to a dentist that recommends things that aren't necessary...there wasn't even a question of 'let's keep and eye on this' - which is what my dentist said - keep and eye on it...he's kept an eye on it for a year, still no issues, no decay. I was sent follow up text messages stating that Dr. D. had recommended a procedure and I should contact their office right away to get that scheduled....nope, no thanks. Will be searching for another dentist who will be honest about such things in the future. Lucky for me I'm still snowbirding so I can get a second opinion when I get back to Michigan!

Like many of you, I relocated to this area and selected Dr. Pugh's practice because of the sign on the bullding that said "Gentle Denistry". How's that for a sophisticated selection process? However, I have been a patient there for a little over five years and have had four crowns installed in that time period. Each of the dentists and their assistants have been absolutely terrific. This month, I had Dr. Tracy Couillard as my primary dentist, and Sofia, as her assistant. They could not have been more caring or more professional. I am a difficult patient (hard for them to get my tooth numb) and they were very understanding (and quick once it was numbed!) It is now two days after the installation of permanent crown and I have no discomfort whatsoever. I just read a couple of negative reviews, and I can tell you that I never experienced anything but pleasant and professional care from this practice, including the extraordinary front desk staff (Carolina, Barbara and others). So it truly is Gentle Dentistry and I would highly recommend Dr. Couillard to any new patient.
