She has been so great with both of my babies. I won't comment on Dr. Aponte since he is now retired. However, the office staff is absolute trash. They are unbelievably rude, for no apparent reason, to a good patient/family. The front office staff and assistants have zero discretion or consideration when it comes to unique situations. They are "no" people instead of finding a way to say "yes" and providing appropriate patient care. I will provide an example. I recently took one of my children to see Dr. Baxter for 2y wellness exam. During the visit, she noticed some redness inside one of her ears. She sent an antibiotic suspension to the pharmacy and said not to fill it unless she starts to get irritable or tugs at her ear. Because I am the pharmacist, and was scheduled for a c section that same week, I chose to dispense the medication since my child would be staying with another family for a few days while I'm in the hospital. They ended up not needing to give her the antibiotic because she didn't complain about her ear. However, a couple days after I picked her up, she began to complain about her ear. Because the mixed med is only good for 14 days, I called the office to request another Rx be sent in order for me to actually use the medication, since the other one was no longer going to last her for the 10 days of treatment. After being on hold for over 20 minutes, the very rude lady up front passed me along to the very rude assistant, both of which gave hard no's before even speaking with the provider. The lack of discretion and judgment here is unbelievable. They know I just had a baby. They did not care or take into account my needs or my daughter's needs. They are just blindly operating inside of a "no" box that we too commonly see uneducated office staff doing. Zero consideration given or even attempting to ask the provider with an actual brain and a degree. Because I am a pharmacist myself, I know how these situations generally play out. A mom calls saying she accidentally left the child's med in the car and it spoiled, we generally call the office to request a new Rx. We get a new Rx EVERY SINGLE TIME. Because things happen, life happens, and she has already been seen so there is no need to pay another copay. The lack of knowledge and discretion has put me in a position where I am having to choose to leave the practice and seek knowledgeable care elsewhere. A practice that ultimately has the patient's care at heart.

Not only did she not receive the proper care you have to take your whole day off to sit in the waiting room while Dr.Aponte has students he is training. IF YOU WANT PROPER CARE FOR YOUR CHILD RUN FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! Does this look like ringworm

They do provide you with a patient portal, but you can't see your test results or send an email, so what is the purpose? I was then told I had to pay the full amount of +$700 before leaving, and they could not provide me with an itemized bill. My insurance covered approximately $670 so I had a small refund due back to me. Since I did not receive any communications or statements from the doctor, I reached out for a refund. I was told I had to wait until the following month for it to show up in their system. I called the following month, and they said the checks for the month were already done and mine would be processed the following month. Good luck trying to get someone live on the phone as calls usually go to voicemail without a name or phone number. I finally asked for the office manager, Chelsea, who was rude and full of excuses. Checks are only issued once a month, and she would make an exception to process a check the following Monday. It was not mailed out of their office until that Thursday. BTW, the doctor does not have voicemail, nor does he return calls. Giving this doctor a 1 star is 1 too many, he should get negative stars.

Valencia (if that's her name) threaten me with Child protective services because I said that I would switch providers if they cannot accommodate my needs. Long story short, I need a medical clearance and the specialist office performing such surgery is asking for the form 3-4 days before surgery. They refused to help me claiming that according to their policy it has to be a day before and that the facility performing such surgery should known tender care's pediatric policy (OKAY? Im pretty sure y'all not the only coca-cola in the desert, what makes them assume a hospital or specialty should know tender care pediatric's policy?). anyways, I said "I will switch doctors" and I hang up the phone, to which this is when Valencia called me and yelled "I am calling child protective services ma'am". First of all let me educate this facility since they have no moral integrity or ethical practice nor any knowledge how things actually works, while ANYONE can call CPS on anybody, a DOCTORS office need to have a legit of reasons of doubt to make such reports, otherwise it would be a false claim which will lead to an investigation to the office. Let me also remind this office that my children's are no longer their patient, therefor any calls, emails, text are considered harassment, and also that any false claims, any private information given to anyone without my consent its a HIPAA violation .
