As a high risk pregnancy patient my OB recommended I go to Dr Samadi because she knows him personally and he aided in her training. When I called for my first appointment the girl on the phone let me know that on the day of the appointment I needed to call to check in over the phone 1 hour before my appointment time. The reason for that is because sometimes their appointments with other patients take longer than anticipated. It is understandable because again he is a highly risk pregnancy doctor! All the technicians that assisted me at all my appointments where very professional and kind. They took their time and let me see baby each time and some even gave me a couple extra prints (shh I don't want to get anyone in trouble). Dr Samadi was always very nice and clear with his explanations of what was happening with Baby. He made me feel comfortable and was straightforward with diagnostics and special care needs. Specialist office for high -pregnancy , in the middle of downtown Bakersfield. Care quality: needs improvement as all the front desk girls should be on the same page when scheduling, I checked in for my 10: 40 am to do the paperwork when my set appointment was at 10:45, i informed the front desk girl if I could have the new patient forms while I wait and sit down. She proceeds to tell me to have a seat. From 10:40am -11:30 I got up and complained to her 45 min wait was unacceptable , the specialist didn't see me until 12:07 am. My hands and feet were swelling up from all the sitting down and standing up, I was exhausted & upset. I waited that long to be seen Just to tell me what I already knew , baby is on a smaller size, unable to tell me the gender, to be very cautious about picking up anything heavy. The receptionist could've been more helpful to make sure everyone was checked inn but I was informed why I didn't check inn over the phone?!? 1) the receptionist who called me , left a message I had an appointment. She left no address on my voicemail 2) called the office to confirm my appointment and she responds with okay, I gave her my name and all she was okay 3) thank the caller, confirm their information and provide caller with your hours, address and process of checking inn. 4) front desk girls don't greet you, don't make eye contact and waiting period can be long without them telling you so. Absolutely adore Dr. Samadi and all of the ladies. I am considered high risk due to the fact that I am having twins, from day 1 that was very scary to me. However, Dr. Samadi and his staff have always made me feel so comfortable and I always leave feeling very heard, reassured, and taken care of. Dr. Samadi was the best specialist for my pregnancy!! He's very kind, always made sure I was good. I lost my first baby at 23 weeks so this time I got sent to him and I made it full term. The office staff was also very kind and in general I overall liked going there. At first I was skeptical because there was always a very long wait, but I then noticed that Dr. Samadi is the ONLY doctor. And he doesn't rush through patients like everyone else, he takes his time and MAKES sure he gives everyone his FULL attention. So later on the wait was worth it. I am now just reading the reviews on here, especially the bad ones. I lucked out today because it was my first time here and I didn't feel like I waited for 3 hours. My appointment time was at 10:45am and I checked in at 10:28am. Around 11:02am I get called for me to show my ID and insurance card and fill out paperwork - mind you I read and fill out paperwork quick so within 3-4 minutes I returned the paperwork. Another 15 minutes has passed and I get called to get my vitals taken and was asked personal questions in regards to my medical history. After the questions, I was asked to go back to the waiting room. Maybe around 11:25ish, Sarah (the ultrasound tech) calls me and tells me that the room she has prepared for was ready for me. I felt nervous because of course I didn't know what to expect and if they'll find anything wrong with my baby. I thank god for Sarah for being so smooth and taking her time to find any abnormalities. She's so sweet and we had a great conversation! I literally just found out that Dr. Samadi and her and the rest of the staff travel from LA! I salute them and give them props for that. Sarah took her time and once finished, she said she is going to type up her report and have Dr. Samadi come and check me. I think within 25-30 minutes, he finally comes in. Gives me a firm handshake and introduced himself. He took his time to check for any final findings and said that Sarah keeps him sane in this insane world lol! I told him that Sarah is amazing! Anyhoo, Dr. Samadi says that my baby looks healthy and that he will see me in 4 weeks. Overall, my experience here was amazing! Nothing to complain here. I did learn that if you check in 30 minutes or waaay ahead of your appointment, it definitely saves you time. The only con I have about the place is it's too small! All chairs are side to side - I hope Dr. Samadi gets a bigger building with a bigger waiting area. That would be so great for him and his staff. I was referred here by my OBGYN for ultrasounds. I have no idea how they schedule people but it is the strangest method I have ever seen. When your appointment is made, you're asked to call an hour before your appointment to "check in," and then asked to wait until there are 3 patients in front of you for them to call you to head over. Yesterday my appointment was scheduled at 4. I checked in at 3 as I was asked. I saw that their hours listed said they closed at 5, so at 4:30 I called to check on the status of my appointment, they said they would call when they were ready for me. Okay. 5:30 I get the call. Right as I'm about to eat dinner. When I arrived I was immediately taken back for my vitals and everyone looked miserable. Other patients were still being called in to come from home too. 6:15 I'm taken back with a nurse to begin my ultrasound. She was very unfriendly and matter of fact. When she was done she said not to remove the gel from my stomach and just wait for the doctor. But it isn't recommended to lay on your back for long while pregnant, and I didn't want cold sticky gel on me. I asked when she was done if I could use the restroom and she said yes, left and shut the door. I struggled getting up and off the chair on my own (petite and major sciatic pain meant I would've appreciated some help). 7:15 the doctor came in. He's alright. Quiet, but not unfriendly. What I don't understand is why he is so ROUGH. I've had ultrasounds through 5 different pregnancies and NEVER have I cringed and winced while being checked. I was sore and tender for an hour after getting home. I'm on my last trimester, but I seriously debate whether it's worth it going back, just to wait 3 hours and come home in pain. read more

Dr. Samadi was amazing. He caught the high liver enzymes, and worked with my OB for a treatment plan. I will say he is very busy, but he will make sure to answer all your questions. The staff are friendly, and he was very caring! He made sure to see me weekly up until delivery, and made sure to ask how i was feeling at every appointment. He can be quiet, but we had a great experience with him. I would definitely trust him with my future pregnancies. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. The ultrasound techs were also very thorough and friendly. I loved that we could check in for appointments over the phone. Although it was super late and we were his last patients, Dr. Samadi came in with a warm greeting and treated us amazing. Amazing doctor & staff. They're all friendly even as wait times are long you are able to call 30 minutes before your appointment to check in & they will call you when it is close to your turn to be seen so you don't wait long times in their lobby. Have gone to Dr. Samadi for both my pregnancies now & he is very thorough & cares for his patients well being always. I am grateful for Dr. Samadi. He found a heart defect in our little baby and referred us to people who could make sure our baby was taken care of. For that, I am so grateful. I am also frustrated that there are no other options but Dr. Samadi in our community. Since Dr. Samadi was the only high risk specialist available, we were restricted to seeing only him. Dr. Samadi is not friendly, nor does he sugar coat anything - quite the opposite. I'm sure there is liability involved, but we were asked multiple times if we wanted to terminate the pregnancy. During each visit he asked us, "Now, you're going to keep this baby no matter what?" I am pro-choice and would have been willing to terminate the pregnancy had our child not been able to live outside of the womb. If my life or the child's life were in grave danger, I would have considered my options. However, at no point did Dr. Samadi give us a diagnosis that wasn't treatable, so hearing that our baby could be treated for his heart condition, but repeatedly being told we should consider termination, was disturbing and unnecessary. He repeatedly asked us if we had questions, yet refused to answer any questions we had. He told us we needed an amniocentesis, but would not advise any further when we had serious questions about risks involved. We were referred to specialists at the Valley Children's Hospital, which we appreciated. They were very informative and took over the care, yet Dr. Samadi did not trust that we had followed through with his referral, instead repeatedly warning us that we MUST find a surgeon (we told him the surgeon's name), that we MUST have a birth plan (we told him about our birth plan, the hospital we would deliver, the NICU that would care for our child). He didn't trust us nor the people he had referred us to, instead insisting we continue to make appointments with him even after our new doctors contacted his office to transfer care. On our last visit (my appointment was scheduled at 3:15PM, we were seen by Dr. Samadi at 8:00PM) he did the ultrasound and repeatedly, very gravely, said "This baby's going to need surgery" - about 10 times he repeated this phrase while shaking his head. We were aware of our baby's condition, and we had a team of specialists at the Valley Children's Hospital that were on board with our baby's needs. We knew our baby would need surgery and were aware of the exact process, procedures, and risks involved (thanks to our doctors at Valley Children's). I am grateful that Dr. Samadi found our baby's heart defect, but each visit was unnecessarily frustrating and stressful. We were completely deflated after each appointment, feeling as though we were going to lose our child and we shouldn't be trusted with our baby's care. Our baby was born with surgeons ready to step in. He was transported to Valley Children's Hospital NICU based on the assessments and plans made by the Valley Children's doctors. Our baby did not need immediate surgery, was born strong and able to breathe on his own. He can withstand feedings and is thriving. He is now at home with us after spending only 10 days in the NICU. He will need surgery, but not immediately - he's strong and well enough to wait until he's bigger, which is a great sign. We have an amazing team at Valley Children's who are ready to take on whatever challenges our baby has. The staff at Dr. Samadi's office are very nice - they are overworked and tired of the complaints. Patients are seen usually 3-4 hours after the appointment time. The good news is, you can call to check in and not have to wait at the office - they call you when there are only a few people ahead of you. But it's frustrating and hard to plan for. He yelled at his staff saying, "I'm going to murder someone! Who did this?!" while we were in the room, embarrassing his staff for putting equipment away incorrectly (only slightly shifted). Overall - Dr. Samadi is smart, has the knowledge to detect and diagnose, and is able to refer to the right people. But I cannot get back the hours of stress and depression he caused throughout my pregnancy. Even when I told him how grateful I was that he had detected our baby's heart defect and referred us to the right people - he ignored me, and only responded with grave concern. No positivity whatsoever. He gave us no hope. He didn't trust us or the people he referred us to. read more

I like how you can check in by calling them 30mins before your appointment time and they will give you a call to when to head down to the office. Longer wait times if you don't. Everyone in this office is friendly and Dr. Samadi and his ultrasound techs takes their time and listens to make sure baby is good and healthy. They don't rush you like other OB offices. read more

I've had Dr Samadi for 2 separate pregnancies in 2017 and in 2024. I enjoyed his thoroughness. His office has a new system of being able to call you via telephone to check you in, and then let you know when to come on your way to save time. They were able to catch things via ultrasound that a regular office ultrasounds don't catch, which is nice to know they're looking at everything. Why even schedule an appointment if you're going to waiting for hours?! So fucking stupid! Fuck this place!

The first two trips, were okay. Dr. Samadi seemed pretty nice at first. After our second ultrasound, he told us to come back in 6 weeks for one more ultrasound before the due date. That last appointment, was terrible. We had two different ultrasound techs come in and take measurements, both were told wife was being induced because of hypertension. They forgot about us in the room after the second tech came in. We were in the room for an hour before another nurse tried to put a different couple into the room we were in. Shortly after that, Dr. Samadi comes in and says "why did they send you two back here?" Like we weren't supposed to be at the appointment. He was the one that booked us 6 weeks from the prior appointment. Told him we were being induced because of hypertension, and then asked if we were being induced because of our "small baby". He mentioned that baby was measuring small in the second ultrasound, but didn't even really attempt to try and figure out a reason why. Turns out my wife's umbilical cord did not have any fluids going through it to give our baby enough nutrients to grow those last 6 weeks. Which is something he probably could have found because that's how they found it at the hospital, using the same machine. Seemed like he was embarrassed that his staff forgot about us and came in with his own reason to be rude and unhelpful to us. Our next baby will be monitored by someone who can actually do their job professionally and properly. read more

This would have been my first appointment in this location today . They called me and hour and a half before my appointment to tell me they had to reschedule me due to short staff , and i asked if there was any way they can reschedule anyone else because i require a babysitter for my one year old . And its hard to get a babysitter for me . They said that no all mew patients were specifically being rescheduled because it takes "longer" for them to do their ultrasound. I thought that was pretty messed up to specifically target "new patients " not knowing how high risk they are , or if their babies are okay really . Then i expressed i can come in at a later time today , they said no . They finally were going to reschedule me for next week same day , but want to FORCE me a time to come in . At an early appointment. I explained i can not do that because like i said i would have to find a babysitter and my babysitter only do afternoon times and the girl said thats all they had . With their inconvenience of having to cancel my appointment they should be able to schedule me at the time i can come in for the next week . But no . Just like they can reschedule me they can easily do the same for another patient to meet me half way . Then i called a different location and she was able to reschedule me for afternoon! For the location they said "they could not " I really think that the girl who was rude btw on the phone was just giving me a hard time . Because i was asking questions. If we are high risk , we might have reasons why we cant come in at a certain time because we need transportation . And someone has to take us to our appointment as well . My case , im epileptic i can not drive myself . I have a one year old , and i have alot of pregnancy issues that come with this , thats the reason for my weekly ultrasounds , i will not be coming to this location. Plus heard the wait time is 3+ hours and i CAN NOT wait that long , with a baby at home . DO BETTER STAFF ! read more

The doctor himself is amazing. But my goodness on Mondays, you're waiting 3 hours, Not enough chairs & hot as heck in the facility!!! Everyone is literally sitting next to each other cause of the lack of chairs and lack of space. These appointment times on Mondays are a joke!! I don't understand how they can't coordinate the times for people so they won't be waiting for 3 hours. Being pregnant and high risk, it feels horrible at this place. Dr. Samadi is one of the few doctors that I have seen who truly and sincerely has shown his care for my high risk twins, and myself as a patient. He is very kind, and compassionate. He is an extremely busy man, with many different practices, but still remembers my case and it's details every time I see him, which is weekly. I recommend him to anyone who wants a doctor who really does care about his patients. One of the only negative things I can say is that the wait time varies, but is mostly on the longer side. But I'll wait 3 hours if that means that I am being seen by someone who is genuine and wants to do what he can to help my babies. I'd rather have a fantastic doctor who is thorough and thoughtful and wait a little longer, than to be rushed through a doctor's visit by someone who cares more about numbers than the actual patient. The only other negative is that the Medial Assistants are either fantastic or extremely awkward and rude. There is one in particular that isn't pleasant at all, and when you ask questions or try to shoot the breeze in awkward moments, she is extremely stiff and curt and does not make you feel comfortable at all. Sadly, I don't even know her name because we have had a such little discussion because I feel uncomfortable talking to her. On the opposite side of my last comment, there are some medical assistants that are soooo sweet and consistently helpful and pleasant. One of my favorite girls is Laura. She is so kind, and makes you feel so comfortable and like you're just catching up with an old friend. There is also a student named Shay that is externing at Dr. Samadi's and she is sooo sweet and gives the same vibes as Laura. Those are my two favorite girls. I recommend asking for them, and I hope Dr. Samadi keeps the student on after her externship. Long review short, Dr. Samadi is wonderful! Most of his staff is wonderful! When you see him you're seeing him because there's a problem or potential problem with your pregnancy or your baby....life's most precious gift. It's a high stress situation. I had an appointment with Dr. Samadi for a second opinion due to macrosomia. I had read he typically has up to three hour wait times. Given COVID, I let them know I had a meeting an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment. The receptionist was nice enough to tell me just to go ahead and let her know if I needed to step out. Everyone was friendly and courteous from the time I arrived to the time I left. They brought me in to ask some preliminary questions, then sent me back to the waiting room, I was then brought back for an ultrasound tech and we had a good time chit chatting. Dr. Samadi came in shortly thereafter. We discussed the size of my baby at 39 weeks and the standard error of measurement as these ultrasound measurements are obviously not 100% accurate. What I particularly liked about Dr. Samadi is he told me "if you were my sister, I would recommend a c section given the overall size of your baby." I had been hesitant but he explained it was to prevent complications for myself and baby. He also explained that if I tried naturally I had a high probability that it would end with the same result c section. He was honest, straightforward and clear. He made me feel like he truly cared and gave me the absolute best information. The only downside is my husband was unable to come with me due to COVID and I would have appreciated if he could have because we are better at making decisions together when we both hear the info first hand. I first started seeing dr.samadi due to results of my genetics testing, the day I got my results for the possibility of my baby having T18/T13 I was devastated, it was the day before Christmas Eve & I had already been informed dr. Samadi only comes on mondays from the LA area, I called his office once I left my OB to see how soon I can get in, they informed me about Monday's only in Bakersfield BUT if I could drive to his Valencia office that day they could see me, so off I went straight from my OB office to Valencia, I was SO HAPPY because I was devastated about my results & wanted more info ASAP... He answered all my questions, performed an ultra sound & amniocentesis that day! I was SO nervous & scared for the aminocentesis but dr.Samadi Was AMAZING! I left his office feeling a million times better! I couldn't say enough good things about him! I was scheduled 4 weeks out to see him here in Bakersfield as we wait out the results from my amniocentesis, my appt was at 11am & I was in & out within the hour. He's one of the ONLY specialist here in Bakersfield & only comes one day a week so I'm sure the wait can be long for some, but I'm sure he has a lot of patients to try & see. I would suggest if it's possible to you, try his Valencia location for more availability. But In all, HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST specialist I've seen, always so kind, answers ALL my questions, he truly helped put me at ease with all the scare & stress I had.. I truly recommend him. read more
