ATTENTION: Never go to this man for any prenatal care, he is negligent and pompous, the most arrogant man I've ever met. As most of you know I was hospitalized for a severe kidney infection around July 1st. I went into his office and told him I knew I had a kidney infection, he had me pee in a cup and said it would take a few days to get the results back. I asked for precautionary antibiotics because I knew the urine would come back positive anyway. He told me that I had no fever and that my pain was just my body changing from the pregnancy and maybe sciatic nerve pain. I said this is my 7th child, I know this is a kidney infection, I know my body. He sent me home anyway and later that day the pain intensified so bad I went to memorial's ER and explained what was going on and they did an ultrasound and I indeed had a severe kidney infection. They kept me for 3 or 4 days and the entire time I was in the ER they couldn't get ahold of my OB to find out what he wanted to do for pain management so I told the staff at memorial he misdiagnosed me (which he absolutely did) fast forward to yesterday I went back in to see him because the UTI is back and he said "I'm surprised to see you back here" I said yea me too I can't believe the UTI is back again already, he said no I thought you told the hospital you were going to fire me. I said well yes I really wanted to when I was in excruciating pain and they couldn't get ahold of you to put in your orders for pain management and antibiotics. You misdiagnosed me and wouldn't listen when I told you I knew I had a kidney infection. He then proceeded to tell me he still doesn't believe I even had a kidney infection and that it's the most misdiagnosed issue in pregnant women. I said uhhhh are you serious? They did an ultrasound... my kidney was inflamed and surrounded in fluid. They kept me for days because of the seriousness.. and then he said "You know what you are no longer my patient, you can leave" So now, I'm 22.4 weeks pregnant and no Dr will take me after 22 weeks. I might have to just have no prenatal care until I deliver because of his arrogance. It also angered him that i brought up that he has never actually delivered any of my kids. "I have the highest delivery rate of my patients!" That's interesting because the nurses at Memorial told me you do the appointment's and have Dr. Walker deliver the babies. I didn't say that but I wish I would
of. I was so blown away that he would just turn someone away who is clearly in pain. He also said my yesterday my urine was fine. Went to urgent care when I left there and the Dr said I indeed have a moderate to severe UTI. I'm back on my way to another kidney infection. I have no time for this. Now I get to stress about this and not having an OB. Cary Scott Shakespeare you are a terrible OB and need to work on your arrogance and bedside manor. read more
