It was really late when we stopped for the night. I picked this hotel because I was traveling with…read more2 children and they had a nice pool. I wanted to get up in the morning, have breakfast and then let them swim before we hit the road to finish the last leg of our trip. First, the woman working the night shift was completely devoid of personality. She barely spoke more than a few words. Not even telling me how much the room would be, she just shoved a bill and pen at me. Not a word said about check out time, breakfast, not a word. Get to the room and it had the oddest smell. Mildew mixed with something that I suspect was an attempt to cover the mildew smell. I won't walk on hotel floors without shoes on and encourage my kids to wear their sandals as well. So we didn't realize until the morning that the carpet was wet. The photo shows the door. As a woman traveling alone with 2 young kids, it made me really uncomfortable. The beds seemed clean. I checked for bedbugs because I was just so grossed out. It seemed fine, so I did my best to make the best of the situation since we were only there to get a few hours of rest. The tub and shower had not been cleaned in awhile, that much was clear. I also was not confident about the towels being clean. They weren't even folded, just thrown in a heap on the rack over the toilet in the bathroom, with one of them having black stuff on it. I went back down to ask for clean towels and wash rags so we could wash up at the sink, etc. and Miss Personality was extremely put out by my request. I kept everything up off the floor and on the desk or bedside table, which I do in all hotels, but we were especially strict in this one and even opted to leave much of our things locked up in the car. Their breakfast was a joke. So I told my girls that we would just go across the street to Starbucks. I stopped to ask when the pool would be opened, having noticed the gate was locked on our way to check out breakfast. They don't allow anyone in the pool until 10 a.m., with checkout being 11a.m. I suspect that's why the pool looks like the nicest thing about the hotel. It barely gets any use. In the end, I saved $40 staying at this cheap, nasty hotel vs the nice, CLEAN, Holiday Inn Express that we chose on the drive home. And there, my girls got to swim until 11p.m. and get right back in after a really nice breakfast and swim 2 hours before we needed to go back to our room and have time for all 3 of us to shower, pack back up and hit the road.

Wife and I stayed here off the cuff one night, unfortunately during the few days when Hurricane…read moreDorian evacuees are having to relocate for a few days to ride out the storm. The price showing on their website showed $57 but we were charged $72 for some reason. The woman at the desk just said "we can't honor the website rate right now", but did not elicit the reason why. So after taxes we paid $87. The hotel is set up ok, and they have free continental breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am. The pool is very old but surprisingly clean for a hotel right off a main interstate, and they were probably at 3/4 capacity so no complaints there. The room is ok. Sheets were clean, and I didn't see any major mold like others stated. Fridge did not get very cold and freezer didn't freeze, but it worked. Microwave worked fine. Sink area of bathroom looked nice, and was well lit and clean and newer looking. Toilet seemed ok, but bathtub was hideous with cracks and mildew and a large brunette hair on the side of the tub. For the area and compared to other local hotels it was nominal. Would have been easier to swallow at $57 a night, but it was a safe place to stay and not alot of usual cheap hotel riffraff hanging around outside. Again, the pool area is a pretty tranquil and decently appointed place to chill after a long day of driving. Last at front desk was not exactly pleasant but she was very professional and efficient at her job. We visited Tuesday night September 3, 2019, and arrived about 8:30pm. If you can afford over $100 night, there are better options, but overall I can't complain. If the tub and carpets and bedspreads were updated they would get a 4 star at least for the comparisons in the area, but then the change in price from their quoted price to actual price made them a solid 3 at best. If you're on a budget and don't mind a few quirks and semi-primitive camp-type experience, this is your place. There are other better places for the same price less than 30 minutes south down in Perry, Ga that I will stay at next time.

The room is in what looks like an old hotel/motel that's been redone on a budget, but it definitely…read morekept that old feeling. Everything is decent enough, though my refrigerator doesn't work. You can tell they try with the cleaning, but it's not the cleanest place around. I felt safer knowing there were quite a few people here on a Friday night, even though it's kind of in a secluded back area. The low price likely draws crowds to the motel next door that appears to be used for low-income local residents. Would I come back? Probably, due to the price. But if I could find a comparable deal elsewhere, I'd probably take that.

I immediately was told we had to make it by 4am or they would charge me for two nights. It was an unprofessional approach and the agent told me that it was "industry standard" to do so. We arrived before 4am, and tried to make peace with the agent. She then swiped our card 3 times and as we checked out the next day we found yet another charge. The new agent couldn't explain or fix the situation. So until it settles our in their accounting, we have paid over $250 for a room that was to be $84 total. In the room, AC didn't work properly and very shoddy accommodations. Our expectations weren't high, but this place went well below those.
