Centrally located, great access to some good restaurants and some shopping, but not an area to walk around at night. Staff is generally all fluent in English, good business or tourist hotel. Showers work great, nice hot water and you never get electrocuted here. Wifi is free and staff is exceptionally helpful.

The staff were very nice however communicating with them is a challenge because they don't understand English well (no one's fault! I'm in their country but wanted to mention that). Basics are easy but beyond that can be a challenge. The room is small but sufficient and had decent linens but the quality of the mattress was fair. The location is fabulous. There are tons of great restaurants and shopping within an easy walking distance, right behind the library (Biblioteca Mario de Andrade) that we didn't see until the second day. It is an a HUGE and confusing intersection that you can easily lose your way if you don't pay attention. There are about 6-8 streets that converge onto the intersection of the hotel. I wouldn't recommend a car if you're a foreigner because they drive crazy and it is difficult to get around that city even for locals. My two biggest complaints with the hotel has to do with the noise level and wifi. I was on the 22nd floor and could hear everything on the streets. I was often awaken by the noise so they don't have good windows and/or insulation. The wifi is very slow and unreliable. I could not do FaceTime and I often got hung up on other things so long it was frustrating. They need to upgrade their system. I did see that they had wired computers on the first floor for use but I preferred to use my own equipment from my room. The bathroom is standard but don't expect a face towel. They give you a bath and hand towel--one per person unless you ask for more. Their gym was pretty good. 4 treadmills, a couple of bikes, free weights, and machines. No pool or hot tub. They also do not have a spa, which was disappointing. You could tell they once had one so it must not have been success. I saw the restaurant but didn't use it. It looked nice but we read reviews that suggested to go to the local places due to price and quality. The bar 365 looked decent with reasonable prices but we didn't use it either. They have some good "green" initiatives there. Most of the hallway lights are on sensors and of course you have the option of skipping new towels or sheets. They commit to planting trees whenever guests decline these services. You also have to use your room key (Like European hotels) in a slot near the door while in the room to turn on lights or electric. However I think this is also why my iPad didn't charge while I was gone. Don't use the mini bar. It's incredibly overpriced like most. I believe a small container of Pringles (around $1usd) was $13 Rheis. Be prepared to pay double for all things in Brazil even with our exchange rate. Bring your own snacks because chocolate is almost impossible to find or costs a lot. When I weigh all things, I think it's a pretty good hotel esp due to the location, cleanliness and friendly staff. Google translate is fantastic. Use it.

Actually really liked the room, shower, amenities available in the room, and it was VERY clean. It pool area was relaxing. We had it to ourselves to enjoy it's a rooftop pool with bar attached but the hr of operation is different. It was a relaxing get away in São Paulo.

In so many ways this place was so lovely that even this review will not ever do it justice. Just book it and stay here, you will not be sorry. In so many ways I feel that everyone that utilizes this hotel wants to keep it a secret, it's so posh and easy to stay here, I see why people live at Ca'd'Oro too. A few things to get out of the way before I start this rather long and detailed review. I've been to São Paulo many times, it's an unbelievable place to see, staying here will make it that much more unbelievable. The vibe here is so ultra private, luxurious and secluded you don't even feel like you are in São Paulo, and that's a good thing. When you open your curtains and look out at this global city in the morning, afternoon and evening....you will feel so blessed. São Paulo is a mega city. The metropolis is an alpha global city, and the most populous city in Brasil, the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. There is no shortage of anything in São Paulo, other than space. You could stay anywhere while you're here, don't screw this up and for sure stay here. I'm going to try to best explain why you should stay here. Because seriously, this is hands down my top 3 hotels ever. Forever. In the case of Ca'd'Oro it has the location that is perfect for being able to strike out and see and navigate as much as the city as possible, whether its business or pleasure Hotel Ca'd'Oro is the place for you. São Paulo is not easy to navigate, its old, has heavy traffic and pollution, it's over populated and the city grew too fast since day one. Hotel Ca'd'Oro is seriously your refuge from all of that, it's like a safety zone after a long day dealing with the stress that São Paulo can undoubtedly bring. The hotel itself is very boutique, the feeling of seclusion almost makes you feel bad for the rest of the city, you will feel spoiled here your entire stay. You will feel as you are the only ones staying at this hotel for several reasons. The first reason, the warmth of the employees and staff here, they make you feel so welcome and special. The staff/family here are absolutely the warmest and most loving people you'll ever meet. The second reason is that every single floor isn't part of the hotel, it's actual residences, this is such a cool hybrid idea. One that could only work here. The level of class in São Paulo is simply higher than the metros of the US, guests would be loud and not be as respectful as Brazilians are here. The third is the size and over all service of the establishment, absolutely incredible. The overall size of the pool area, dining room, breakfast area, bar, lobby etc. are small however perfect in every way. The hotel was designed perfectly!!!! Every inch is pure class. The rooms in my opinion are actually large and very modern & so very Italian. There is no detail left behind here. Every. Single. Thing. Impeccable. The rooms are so well designed that it's a marvel, how is it that all hotels do not copy this model in the USA? More, how is there not 1 single review of this amazing establishment on yelp?! The linens, the blankets, pillows, soaps, towels....ALL heaven. The bar, the breakfast service, the pool area...a place like this in the USA would be untouchable for us to stay at in the USA. We decided to pull out all the stops and order room-service, a maccheroni bolognese late at night, my mind was blown! One of the best ragu's I've ever had in my life. Before I go any further, I knew that it was very much a city full of Italian descendants. However, this time I really explored that more and even by staying at this hotel. Italian Brazilians are the LARGEST number of people with full or partial Italian ancestry outside ITALY. With SÃO PAULO being the most populous city with Italian ancestry in the WORLD. Nowadays, it's possible to find millions of descendants of Italians here. This hotel would easily beat most hotels in Italy, at least match them. Circling back, from management to maids, from bartender to bellhops, all impeccable. There was not one time when I wasn't impressed with this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in São Paulo especially an extended stay like we did, it will feel like home from day 1 until you leave. You will honestly miss those pillows & sheets when our leave, and those robes....I'm serious I'm missing it right now. Food, views, service, great bar/lounge. On site restaurant, wonderful breakfast. Fresh linens to die for and the warmest staff I've ever encountered in a hotel setting.
