Grandma's is the sort of place that you want to share with everyone. It isn't very exciting to look at from the outside but you are in for such a culinary treat if you do venture past the front door. The service is fast and friendly. The drinks reasonably priced but not an extensive choice. The food however is a delight. The Thai fish cakes are a must, followed by Thai red King Prawn curry. We try something different each time we come here and have never been disappointed. I have never seen this place full, it should be! Well worth a visit.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by a super funny host who led us to our table. The servers were very friendly too. It felt much more like eating in a friends restaurant. The energy is great. Everything is quite literally made to order and fried in a wok right in front of you in their open kitchen. They have bowls of fresh veggies sitting on the counter and you can see the chef preparing everything. We had one of the rice dishes.....I forget the name, but it was the top one of the two on the menu. We also had the panang creamy thai peanut sauce with chicken and a side of coconut rice. Absolutely brilliant. I forgot to say that I wanted it mild because I'm a bit of a wimp, but the spice actually turned out to be perfect. It was spicy but didn't burn my mouth and did not over power the other flavors. We will probably go back strait away tomorrow. That's how good it was. Mouth watering!

Food was i thought (and im a student) totally reasonable (mixed starter, sweet and sour pork, chicken noodles and egg fried rice, all delicious, came to around 12 pounds each plus drinks) and the staff were very friendly. Almost empty when i arrived but began to get busy after about half past 8 on a Thursday night. Also a beautiful little balcony which manages to make Westcliff seem picturesque with views of the sea and very comfortable. I feel like I've found a real gem here tucked away in Westcliff (opposite Thai Nova). Thank you for a fantastic night! Of course it helped having fantastic company, which i cant vouch for. It's a quaint little resturaunt close to the beach. The food all taste freshly cooked and the service is quite quick. If you don't want to pay for a bottle of water make sure to specify that tap water is fine or a bottle is automatic. I ordered the vegetable tempura which consisted of broccoli, mushrooms, green and red peppers, carrots, zucchini, and baby corn. It was an interestingly good mix with a sweet chili sauce. For the main course I ordered the Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly. They brought out the whole fish but was easy to take apart. The sweet sauce that came with it was also really tasty along with some sticky rice. It's a great family resturaunt, make sure to have a reservation in the summer on the weekends. Weekdays seem fairly open to just walk in.
