My 7.3 Diesel (DOZER) decided it only want to run in reverse. I instantly started contemplating wether I would keep the truck or fix it. I got quotes all over the place in Dallas & FtWorth. from $6k to $10k plus. I got a quote from these guys and it was cheap! $3k and I was asking for additional work. I was really not sold on this one at all but I really didn't have the cash to be choosy. Communication was on point. I reached out to Mr Rainwatter on Facebook and he responded rather quickly. he sent a tow truck to pick up my truck and with in a week he was ready for me to come get my truck. I was given a warranty to cover the transmission and I paid my bill. his place is not fancy but he had lots of mechanics working on various cars. He was slammed. Mr.Rainwater is a fellow Veteran (Marine) and nice enough. It's been a month now and I'm a very satisfied customer. My truck ran fine from his shop to my house 2 hour drive on highway and back roads. Ive had no issues what so ever. I believe he does a lot of buisness. Ive read lots of stories about them. Most of it about the level of service provided. I did not pay for customer service myself. I just want the job done and that's exactly what I got. Many people are more than willing to complain and fewer are willing to give credit due were credit is earned. **unless your looking to get screwed DONT go here** This pcs of crap cost me thousands of dollars and my truck being broke down for more than 6 months. if you have a problem with how he screws you he will get in your face and threaten you. He's only 6'10" and 300 + lbs. they dropped bolts in my transmission and only replaced some parts with used parts. Haltom City shut him down and run him out of town. Brought a transmission in and got it back 95% in working order. Drove the vehicle 2 him he pulled it apart 100% and told me 800 to pick it up in pieces or $2200 to rebuild again. For real find some one else!! I'm writing this to try to make sense of something that happened yesterday. We got a snarky note on the trash cans from the guy that "fixed" the Camaro's transmission. The note said he'd been calling us and msg us numerous times a day, leaving msgs. That the Camaro was ready, and had been ready, and if we didn't pay him immediately, he'd seize the vehicle. Wow. He told us from the get-go that parts were hard to find, but he had a connection. We expected it to take a week or more. We got not one msg. Nothing. He could've come to our house, we're that close. He could've sent the guy that towed it to his shop, he knew where we were. But he claims he called 4-5 times a day, leaving msgs everytime. So we went up there, after getting a check printed, since we rarely use checks. He sat there, looking at the check, saying he couldn't take it, he'd never even seen a check like this before. (We use the same checks to pay taxes, so Parker county is cool with it.) He said he couldn't wait 2 weeks for it to clear. He took it to his bank, came back saying he couldn't wait 5 days for payment. He said we were liars, and we were trying to get something over on him. At this point, he's screaming at us, saying he wanted his money. Telling me to get "my fat ass out of there". Let me say something: I've had that car for almost 46 years. We never try to avoid payment. On anything. We pay our bills, we have excellent credit. I would NEVER leave that car anywhere. My parents gave it to me and I love it. He brought his employees to back up his claim of them calling us numerous times. One employee said, "just let them go". At this point, as this fool is screaming his head off and calling us every name under the sun, he acts like he's going to open a drawer. I'm thinking, "this is how I'm going to die." The other employee was looking at me, out of sight of the crazy man, and he's kind of doing his hands like, "go! Get out before he shoots you!" We left, and saw a Springtown police car. We followed her to the police station and told them we needed help. The police person had already been dispatched to the transmission shop, and they diverted her to come talk to us first. Glenn made a report while I raced to the bank in Azle. Which was closed. We got up this morning, went to the bank, briefly considered getting it all in pennies. Got the money and headed to the police station. 2 police people accompanied us into the shop where we counted out the money, in front of the crazy man and the police. Then he proceeded to recount it, gave us our receipt with the warranty. And we left. (The transmission felt wonky. What are the chances I'll ever take it back to that fool? Nil.) The police women went in to write him a citation for threatening us. They are very aware of this man's reputation for being a stone cold bastardo. I don't mind telling you, we are shook. This fool knows where we live. Huge thanks to the Springtown Police Department. A big thumbs down to RAINWATER TRANSMISSION SHOP IN SPRINGTOWN. I plan on reporting him to the BBB. In reviews, on his site, he sarcastically bats down every bad review with threats of lawsuits for slander. But I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this horrible man. DO NOT COME HERE!!! this place is getting one star because 0 is not an option. I brought my pickup here for an issue of loss of power and rough idle. it felt like a transmission issue and despite being a mechanic by trade for a long time, I dont do transmissions. I called first and described my issue and he said it sound like clutch packs or torque converter. so I brought it in and after 3 days (plus a weekend) I was told that, yep, clutch packs and torque converter are shot, she needs a rebuild. so $3k (cash only) and two weeks later is was fixed. two months ago by with no problems and then suddenly it is doing the exact same thing. I bring it back and inform him of this and he said "they would take a look, its probably low on fluid because of a leak." three days later I am informed that it is an engine issue and not a transmission problem. despite the fact that all of the symptoms are EXACTLY the same as the first time! he told me I now have a code for throttle actuator that supposedly wasn't there the first time. when I asked that due to misdiagnosis I see it as he should AT LEAST pay for the new part (about $120 to $150) and id be out of there. at this point he became very angry calling me and my wife a f***ing b***h and I don't know what I'm talking about. sorry LARD but yes I know what I'm talking about and I do know how a good shop would at least own up to not fixing the problem described and AT LEAST pay for the new part. if you need transmission work I highly discourage you from trusting this thief. after this incident my wife looked deeper into this guy and apparently he is such a shady dude he got run out of his old place in fort worth and came here to spring town.
