I went to Dr. Shaffer because of a concern related to my skin. It took me 6 weeks to get in. I was a first time patient, so I expected the doctor to come in and at least pretend to be nice; didn't happen. I am not from the Branson area, so to create conversation, I asked if she was from here. She was quick to answer, "Yes, born and raised, but I don't live here, I live in Texas. I come here once a month, but have no intention on staying here.". Wow. I don't know, I've been to plenty of physicians in my time, but this doctor has the worst bed side manner I've ever experienced. She is young, so perhaps she shouldn't be judged to critically. I just think she should stay in El Paso TX if she doesn't like coming to work in Branson, because her patients in Branson surely shouldn't have to experience the brunt of her attitude. read more

Well, all I can say after reading the negative review is she must have been having a bad day, and some people are just looking for a reason to bad mouth people, it's kinda sad really. She was very pleasant to me and seemed to really care about my situation. I would definitely reccomend her to anyone needing a dermatologist in the ozarks! read more

This was my first experience with Dr. Rainey and her office. I was about to get in quick because of a cancelled appointment. I was impressed with how on-time my appointment was and how fast I went from the waiting room on back. Dr. Rainey is very knowledgeable with Psoriasis and asked several questions to find the perfect medicine she wanted to prescribe to me. She was very kind and helpful throughout the appointment making me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her to anyone! read more

Dr. Rainey has been my dermatologist since I moved to Branson 5 years ago. She was recommended by several of my friends who also use her on a regular basis, and they all sing her praises. I see her at least once yearly for an "all over" skin check and for any dermatologic issues. Even though she is not in Branson every week, she always manages to work me into her busy schedule. She is very personable and makes everybody feel comfortable. She is a highly skilled dermatologist and I recommend her without hesitation. read more

It was actually my husbands FOLLOW UP appt. Ms. Schaffer was not the doctor that first treated my husband. ( I was told she commutes on an infrequent basis from SanAntonio) The follow up was ok and took about 10min. My problem was a question that I asked, and how it was answered. I was pretty offended. Now understand, I was not trying to get a free doctors appointment. I said "Do you guys ever do a skin check clinic? Like on certain days? " She looked over at me kind of strange, and It was an awkward silence so I said " a lady with diagnosed skin cancer grabbed my arm the other day and said, that's cancer. You need looked at!" That scared me and I have been a bit concerned ever since. Ms. Schaffer looked at me and said "FOR FREE?" Very condescending. I said "no, I have insurance" she said..no joke..".that's what I do every day" does she realize it takes months to get a dermatologist appt? So asking if a clinic is available isint asking if you are having a charity event. Not everyone in po-dunk Branson needs a freeby Ms. Schaffer. I went on to say "do we need a referral or can I just make an appointment?" Hint #1= I am a potential costumer. #2 treat potential customers like they can help you pay off your student loans. Just saying. I was referred to the nasty front desk lady that was unwilling to check. ( she allready had all our insurance info) she finally gave an answer only after I said never mind. This is what happens when there is a shortage of specialists. It's a mentality that I have no other choices, so treat me how you want. I think I WANT TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. P.s. I took my 15-year-old daughter to see Dr.Rainey recently and was a little apprehensive after having read the other review posted here. However, our experience was the total opposite! We were first-time patients also,and it did take awhile to get in-but both the doctor and the office staff couldn't have been nicer. She was quick and efficient and asked if we had any questions she could answer. She showed interest in my daughter and gave her some suggestions to help her acne and encouraged her to not let it affect her self-esteem. We did talk a little about San Antonio (where she said she lives ), but she didn't say anything negative about Branson or the area. Maybe she's changed or was having an "off day" when the other reviewer was there-but I highly recommend her! read more
