With 50+ years in operation, St. Paul's is a hidden gem in the Louisville community. The staff and teachers go above and beyond to give their students a loving and nurturing environment where they can thrive and grow physically, emotionally and academically. All 3 of my children have been beyond prepared for Kindergarten. The learning environment is the perfect mix of fun, kindness, and hard work. They keep you updated on the academic and emotional progress of your child and keep the parents engaged with the child's learning plan. We felt genuine support for our children's development at St. Paul's. Over the past 2 years during a world-wide pandemic, life has been challenging. St. Paul's made us feel safe to send our children to school. Many of the pandemic specific cleaning/sanitary polices were already in place before the pandemic. You could always find St. Paul's cleaning and adhering to all health and safety regulations. Their school is meticulously clean and well taken care of. Very responsive to messages on brightwheel. I also get THE CUTEST PHOTOS EVER, I literally look forward to them every day. They are always doing fun and educational activities, and I love to get artwork tucked into her backpack nearly weekly. The teachers (and support staff) are not only warm and caring, but they also create a fun, stimulating environment that encourages exploration and growth. We've loved seeing the developmental milestones our child has reached, and we know so much of that progress is thanks to the intentional learning experiences and individual attention provided at Primrose. What stands out the most is how happy our child is when we bring her to school and the immediate engagement with the teachers. She always smiles at drop-off when we hand her to one of her teachers and they are engaged in the conversation about when our child ate last, how she slept the night before, and how her attitude was that morning before coming to school so they know how to best care for her that day. My 4 yr old son has the privilege of attending this private "accredited" yes "accredited" preschool and it is phenomenal. He has been to some daycares in the past that swear that their focus is education & challenging the minds of the little ones but trust me, after paying close attention, they were not. I researched and found Primrose before it was even built months ago & decided that this was the place my son had to be no matter how many hours I needed to work--he needed to have the best education. Primrose teachers are degree level teachers who have the know how and ability to work with the kids according to their age group. The kids have a schedule so they aren't being babysat--they're actually learning. I can't tell you how much my son has made a dramatic shift in his behavior and attitude since starting here & it hasn't even been a month. So if you're child is acting out at his/her current school, investigate what's going on--he/she may just be bored from the lack of activity. To top it all off, the owner Anne Almond rocks! Her smile and personality is contagious and the director Laura Paine is irreplaceable in the quality of professionalism and friendliness she displays to each family. Lastly, I'm a foodie so you know I love the fact that they have a Personal Chef who really prepares healthy meals for the children. My son and daughter always come home telling me about the healthy snacks they've had at Primrose. Parents, I know this was long but if you really truly care about your child's education this is the place you'll want them to be. If you have school-aged children, that's no problem. My daughter is 5 and they pick her up on the bus (that has seatbelts...what?!) everyday from school to attend Primrose for Aftercare! As a former student here, I have a unique perspective that outsiders may not be aware of. While the…read moreschool claims to promote "individual excellence," in reality, I was punished and relegated to the back of the room whenever I hiccuped or tapped my feet. I recall being loud and talkative in the past, but now I barely speak due to the way the teachers and several students treated me. The effects of that bullying still linger to this day. The bullies were once my friends, but they turned on me, and the teachers failed to intervene or hold them accountable. The group was led by one student whose parent worked at the school, creating a toxic environment where the teacher selectively disciplined the class. I was sent to the principal's office or the back of the room multiple times a day for things other students were doing without consequence. Notably, the teacher acted differently whenever another adult was in the classroom, showing she was aware her behavior was inappropriate. I attended this school for two years when I was 10 and 11; I am now about to turn 15, and hopefully, that puts into perspective how long this has affected me. This school silenced me. I was bullied almost every single day, and even after I left, some students continued the harassment. Another review mentions that the founder/principal knows everyone by name, but knowing a name is not the same as knowing a student's heart or ensuring their safety. Leadership failed to act when I was drowning in a toxic environment. I could say a lot more, but I've already given this school enough of my time and my silence. I am sharing this because I don't want anyone else to feel this way. Do not waste your money on this school; protect your child's mental health. The tuition does not provide safety in this 'Christian' environment."
