I had to escalate calls to supervisors more than once, yet the confusion and lack of clarity continued. Most recently, I asked for the total invoice for a tooth extraction, clearly emphasizing that this was not a dental cleaning. Despite repeating this several times, the receptionist still did not understand the request. She then claimed it would take "20 minutes" just to read off a bill, which is not credible and was used to avoid providing information that should be immediately accessible. When I pressed for accurate details, she became irritated and ultimately hung up on me. A veterinary clinic should be able to provide records, read invoices, understand basic procedure differences, and communicate professionally. This clinic has consistently failed to meet those standards. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this facility.

When discussing our dog's condition and long-term care, he reportedly responded in a sarcastic and flippant manner, saying "that won't be long," which is completely inappropriate given the seriousness of the situation. What's more concerning is that my wife had to request a different veterinarian multiple times before her concerns were taken seriously. No client should have to advocate that hard just to feel comfortable during a medical appointment for their pet. Even after being asked to step away, Dr. Smith re-entered the room later in the visit. When my wife politely asked him to leave due to the discomfort already caused, he reportedly laughed and dismissed the situation under the guise of "trying to apologize." That kind of response only made matters worse and showed a lack of awareness and professionalism. We've been clients of this clinic for years, and while the service has often been underwhelming, today's experience crossed a line. Veterinary care requires not just medical competence, but empathy, communication, and respect--especially when discussing serious or lifelong conditions. I took her to an ER in LA and was referred to an orthopedic surgeon for surgery. Because of right COVID restrictions in LA, I was told it could be a 4-6 week wait until surgical openings and to keep her on pain medications until someone could get her in (Vetprofen, Gabapentin and Tramadol). Originally from Wichita, I thought I would call around and see what options there were to get her in earlier. On Friday, April 2, I spoke to Dr Kayd Byers and after answering a ton of my questions (mainly TPLO vs lateral suture questions), he said they could get her in as early as the following Monday! I hopped on a plane and went to Wichita. I took her in for a quick consult Monday, and dropped her off Tuesday morning for surgery. The staff was so so patient with me (I was bawling my eyes out), and one of the sweet techs even offered to go in late that night to check on Molly, take her potty, etc. She sent me photos and videos and this very much eased my nerves. When I picked her up Wednesday, they provided me with instructions on how to care for her. I then went back in 6 times over the next 10 days for laser therapy, which greatly sped up the incision's healing time (at least I think it did)! She is six weeks post op and back to using her leg 80%. It healed beautifully and I can tell that this surgery was absolutely necessary to maintain a great quality of life. Thank you to the Companion team for everything you've done for Molly and being so patient with me through all the calls, questions, and trips into the office.

She had plenty of toys to play with in her pen and outside in the turf area! When I returned to get Lola she was so happy and hardly wanted to leave Gloria's side!
