They have lots of fresh local produce, cheeses, jams, bakery items from local bakeries such as le croissant and l'epi de ble. The fresh baguettes ($2.49) remind me of Paris! And the cinnamon buns (package 6 for $5.49) are perfect - fluffy, moist cinnamon buns (no raisins) and just enough icing (I don't like it overloaded with icing). The recent in season strawberries were delicious $18.99 for a basket or $6.99 for a quart, quart BC cherries $6. The bouquets of flowers are gorgeous and same goes for their small garden/nursery area. Staff are bilingual and really this place reminds me of a much smaller version of Montreal's Jean Talon market. Service is really nice. There's a frequent buyer card where you get a stamp for each $20 purchase. After collecting 15 stamps you can a discount - either $10 or $15 off.

I love the selection of herbs, plants, grasses, and groovy gift items. SGH specializes in seeds and herbs, and the plants I've purchased have always been in the best condition I've seen from a nursery. Also, the service from Dave (owner) and the staff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. In fact, a few years back I I tried to take my outdoor peppermint, lavender, and rosemary in for the winter. I don't have south facing windows and so have very limited sunlight in the winter months. Dave gave me excellent advice (and support!) which helped me keep these cherished plants alive in time for replanting. Also, the location couldn't be prettier. Just when you think you've missed it, keep driving. It's nestled to the left on St. Mary's Road (if you're driving south).

Mount Royal Plum Tree purchased last year June 28 2018 it was not in good shape but you were the…read moreonly Garden Center with the Mount Royal Plum Tree and was discounted because not being in good condition discounted $75.00 Were told not to worry it was under warranty for 18 Months. This year it was in awful shape leaves on on branch and on the bottom trunk. Emailed and called St Mary's if they find one would have to pay $20.00 more plus tax. Informed later no tree available. St Mary's Warranty: Credit, redeem credit, no cash value,for purchase trees or shrubs, no guarantee on plants purchased with credit. Came there for one reason and one reason only after going to 6 nurseries looking for Mount Royal Plum Tree. I am out $75.00 and feel like I have been robbed. This is not a warranty. I have had many warranties in my life. This is a clever way of hanging onto a customers funds and then telling him he has to use it on something other than what was warrantied.
