Our guide was an experienced rider and answered every question we could of lol. They have many different kinds of animals there, it gives ranch but not farm vibes. *insider tip* They offer 2 different types of rides! A regular trail ride and an "experience" trail ride which includes trotting and cantering. This is good to know so you schedule accordingly. They use different horses for different experiences. Apple Maps kept redirecting me every 5 min and delaying me an extra 20min!, so i would recommend just searching "A Place for Dreamers" and get directions. Just go! Our small group started with miniature pony brushing and then got to dress up their animals in various accessories. From there they got on smaller horses with a guide leading them and learned basic skills, like stopping (whoa) and had a lot of fun riding around the enclosed area circle. They even played a few games like red light green light. After that they learned to walk with the miniature ponies and even got to take them over a jump and through an obstacle course. We then finished the day with a little carriage ride with the owner, Paige. The highlight of their visit (they said later) was learning to clean out a horse stall. Who knew they loved cleaning so much! All of the guides were wonderful. The main gal that did the instructing was just so lovely and sweet to the kids explaining everything with patience. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for this kind of experience in the area.

They loved it and talked all the way home about the horses and activities especially were impressed with riding the horse to cool off in the pond. These boys were excited to do their first ride and we were so grateful to the staff who spent much effort to insure they knew how to handle these horses. Safety was the watch word. Our escort was just great. She assisted in every way to show the mount/use of reins/dismount. Thank you so much! Some people collect spoons -- I go for rides :) Most of the places I found IN Houston either were English barns with just an arena. This is about 60 miles outside of Houston, but worth the drive, if you want a good ride. They are really nice people, and you go ride on their ranch. There were several ponds, cattle, and lots of great views. It's a husband and wife operation. It's a little bit of a drive from Houston, but I think it's probably the best trail ride around. They are also less expensive than the Houston places. Very accommodating to your schedule. Highly recommend, and would go again

Management and staff are knowledgeable, thorough and conscientious. More than once I've been alerted to something brewing with my horses and have averted colic and a trip to the equine hospital. Turnout is the best that is offered in the HOUSTON area even with our crazy weather and management is exceptionally accommodating to provide a program geared to the health and safety of the horse. It is a large facility that offers many amenities and does support the competitive rider. However, my retired mother also boards her pasture pony here and loves that her horse lives in a "gated community". It's a gorgeous place...you'll just have to come see!
