Haha but Paul was great with checking in on him etc. I did doors off in the front he did doors on and rode in the back. We did the 45 min tour around Oahu - worth it to see the island from this view! Amazing flight all over Oahu and possibly the highlight of our Hawaii trip. Definitely recommend having one door off at least since it can get hot but will still feel perfectly safe. Sara was our pilot and guide and she did an amazing job telling us history of famous sites throughout the island you would have never known. Staff provides a cell phone lanyard with camera cut out so you can take amazing photos and videos without the fear of dropping your phone out. Must-do while in Oahu! Bought a Groupon last-minute and were able to fly the next morning. The 15-min deal flew along Waikiki Beach, around Diamond Head and back along Honolulu before landing. We took the 7am flight and it was so peaceful to see breathtaking Hawaii from a beautiful vantage point. Highly recommend you do this in the first days of your vacation, so you can scope out areas you'd like to visit on the ground. Our pilot Eric was calm and professional, pointing out different points of interest and dropping knowledge about Hawaii during the flight. Ground crew was friendly and not too pushy when trying to upsell to longer packages. Next time I'll splurge for the hour long flight around the island and see North Shore. Our pilot Corey was beyond amazing. We picked the 20 min tour because it was our first time on a helicopter. Corey really maximized our time. He took us by the beach and through the mountains. We got to see 2 volcanoes and Obama's house. He was amazing. The Front desk staff was awesome as well. The doors off Rainbow helicopter ride my brother and I took on our December Hawaii trip was a thrill of a life time. The trip lasted about an hour and we toured the entire Island. We crossed over Waikiki beach and Diamond Head, then the North Shore, and over Pearl Harbor before landing. The no doors option seemed scary but do not regret it in the slightest. Perfect experience, for the perfect honeymoon. Kyle was our pilot. He had a kid like wonder for the each sites that was contagious. It really made the experience great to have a pilot who had a deep appreciation and admiration for all the sites, even with seeing them everyday. He was also a fantastic pilot that was able expertly find the balance of getting up close amazing views with out sacrificing safety. We had some pretty bad weather that started during our flight. If I could give this rating more stars I would. Novictor helicopter is located in the castle and Cooke building at Honolulu airport on lagoon drive. There helicopters are much smaller than the blue Hawaiian helicopters, so our ride was just my wife and I. They give you the option of riding with the doors on or off. Doors off yields better pictures, so I chose doors off. You are in constant communication with the pilot via headphones and mic. It was not cold at all, and you have headphones on so you do not hear the helicopter noise but you hear what the pilot is saying. Her and I were looking for a good tour of the island and settled on a helo tour, figured it'd be a pretty fun perspective. I did a fair amount of comparing prices and length of the tours. We did the 60min, mos def the best bang for your buck, plus you get to see a large swath of the island and sea life. Safety. There is a report of two about increase helo crashes on the Hawaiian islands over the past decade and change. From what I was able to deduce, this is due to an increase in tour companies opening and changes in flight regulations. Novictor has a good record, I do suggest looking it up yourself. Professional. I will say I felt like they have a good system in briefing guests: You're brought into a room and watch videos while an agent walks your through the steps. Pilots. Our Pilot, Paul, was amazing. Very seasoned and very talkative, narrated our entire trip. Tour. From Diamond head to the valley where JP was filmed over the 4myo lava flows, you get a piece of everything on the 1hr tour. First trip to Hawaii with my brother decide treat him to a helicopter tour. What I liked about Novictor was that they had early morning tours around the island. You could even upgrade to see other parts of the island if you wanted a longer tour. It made it easier for us to do more activities for the rest of the day. We went doors off, and felt so comfortable and safe within the helicopter. They give you these clear necklace pouches for you to keep your phone in so you don't drop it. It was a beautiful day for our tour and perfect timing with the sun out. Joanna was our guide and she was absolutely amazing. She told us so much about the island (I've gone before and still learned a lot from her). She even told us of some really good hikes we could go on. Some parts of the island were a bit cloudy near the peaks, but it was still beautiful. I pointed it out and he took us above the clouds! It was one of the most breathtaking views I'd ever seen - like being in an airplane with the doors off! Me and Joanna had great converstations she kept me busy talking knowing i was afarid of heights myself.She was so excited to show us parts of the island and you can tell she'll never get tired of seeing it - I wouldn't either! They give you the option to have the doors ON or OFF for the tour and with out a doubt I would Highly Recommend DOORS OFF!! The only thing you will notice about having the doors off is having a little difficulty recording or taking pics if you're using your iPhone because of the Wind...but by no means is this a negative at all! This was the best way to see Hawaii first then get on the ground and explore. We arrived and got right to safety video which I loved. They let us asked questions and prepared us for our excursion. Clay and Charles was very knowledgeable and had us smiling and confident once we were ready to board. We were allowed to borrow goggles and hoodies if needed. You also have the option to purchase your flight video after it's over. Once at the pad, they took video and pics for you just to personally have as well. While you board, they make certain you are seat belted in and taught how to communicate with each other and pilot during flight. They really thought about the experience and our needs!! Not sure why this place is rated so highly. Would honestly leave 0 stars if that were an option. I booked the sunset tour for my fiancé and I a month before my ride, for a 6pm ride on 11/1. Today- 10/31 at 3pm I received a voicemail to call in. When I did I was told that we wouldn't be able to fly tomorrow because the helicopter that would take us is scheduled for maintenance. (Why would you schedule maintenance for a helicopter that's already scheduled for a flight?) they gave us 2 options - to fly today or Saturday. Since we're here for vacation and have other things planned, we opted for today. The call to rescheduled was occurring on my ride to my hotel from the airport since I just landed. In order to make it on time, we rode to our hotel, dropped off our bags, and immediately left again since we were told that if we don't make the 4:45 check in time we wouldn't be taken up. After a $30 lyft ride and an awesome driver, we made it there with 5 min to spare. We checked in. Did the briefing video then was told to wait in the loopy for 20 min. After a lengthy amount of time, my boyfriend inquired with the staff if everything was ok and if things are running on time. They told him yes and that everything was fine. In the meantime another couple that was visible annoyed were taken back for what I can imagine was their check in and briefing. Then I noticed they had never returned to "wait in the lobby" like us. After we see the sunset already beginning outside, a staff member finally approached us and told us that they had a 5pm flight that's running late and because of that, they wouldn't be able to take us. Apparently there was 1 helicopter running all day. (So why were we given the option to come in today?) At this point, we rushed from our flight to the hotel and to their location to sit there for an hour. They rescheduled us for Saturday on the spot but we already have plans. Some transparency to the situation would've been appreciated and much more respectable. The gentlemen on the phone was almost pushing me not to come in today because they "weren't sure if we'd get there in time and if we couldn't check in by 4:45 they can't guarantee to take us up".. not sure how to other couple came in late for their 5pm flight time but was still taken up while we sat there for an hour (after checking in on time) and was told to come back another day. After this experience I don't know if rearranging my Saturday plans would be even worth it. Needless to say, I'll be calling for a refund. read more

This was the highlight of my trip to Honolulu!!! I thought Waikiki was beautiful at my short self level, seeing it up above had me at a loss for words. I had gotten a great deal for a Waikiki helicopter tour on Groupon with Novictor, and it was worth every single penny. Flying with the doors off on a windy day can make for a shaky photo session but I wouldn't fly any other way. Admiring Honolulu's beauty without doors is the only way anyone should fly, as a matter of fact. Feeling the warm Hawaiian wind brushing against your face as you stare down at the turquoise waters below feels like a dream. The pilot informs you along the way of many sights and attractions but is a little difficult to hear them with all of the wind. They had put us on a sunset flight since the other person who was supposed to fly with us did not show up, it was truly an unforgettable experience seeing the pink sunset over Waikiki as we circled Diamond Head and the beach. Please do not pass up an opportunity to see the beauty of Waikiki or any other city with Novictor! This was the highlight of my trip! Something I will never forget! If you have never flown on a helicopter before, you are missing out. Will change your whole freaking world! I had made reservations for my birthday, but due to "company issues" they postponed me to the following day. This made me have to rearrange my whole plans; thus, the reason why I did not leave a 5 star review. Just know and do your research, this company has postponed several times before doing research and reading other reviews. So just be wary that you will not get the day and time you request. On a better note; the flight was absolutely amazing! ITs only a 30min tour but felt like forever. So scenic, so mind blowing. Bastian was our pilot and he was awesome! Kept us informed the entire time as too all the main attractions we were flying over. The coolest part was flying over Pearl Harbor and seeing the shadow of the USS Arizona sunken ship.
