This was my first time visiting and went for an annual cleaning. The staff overall was friendly. However, when I was brought back to see the doctor, it felt rushed and she said that she was only going polish my teeth and that I "don't need a cleaning". I told her I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year and a half ( due to lack of insurance), why wouldn't need a cleaning? She still brushed it off and then tried to sell me teeth whitening and asked me a bunch of other questions to then sell me out of pocket cost products. I felt dismissed and discriminated against (possibly due to my insurance and or race, so she just made a bunch of assumptions). I will be informing my insurance company. Horrible communication skills. I called to make an appointment for an X-ray & a referral. The receptionist told me I did not need to make an appointment and for me to just walk in. I've called about two or three times to confirm the information I was given. I walked in today and they told me I needed to make an appointment. I've wasted my time driving to Rainbow Dental. Man. Where do I begin... Out of convenience- location wise and their (tbh) misleading high reviews, I picked Rainbow Dental to do my annual check up/cleaning. First time I was there, there was a major back and forth with getting Rainbow Dental registered as my primary dentist. It was frustrating at times because I came 2 times with an appointment/insurance confirmed and front desk acted very nonchalant, told me I wasn't on the system and to come back after a month: "Maybe it'll show up on the system then." Finally the day came to see the dentist. I was excited to do a cleaning... except it wasn't a cleaning. The male hygienist was incredibly rude. It could've been a cultural behavior I told myself, but I couldn't oversee it the longer I thought about it. He grabbed my chin forcefully and turned it in directions he needed my head to turn, as if I was a doll. Then he laid his forearm on my forehead as he cleaned my teeth! I was appalled. I certainly gave him a look and some grunts to let him know, but no there was phasing him. His "cleaning" was literally just a cleaning I could do at home. Motorized polisher (silicone) with toothpaste. He didn't even go through it thoroughly. The normal cleaning you get at a normal dentist? Forget about it, not here. No scraping of the plaque and tarter, just a quick, half-ass brushing. From there you move on to the dentist, she then tells you to get a $80-90 deep cleaning that my insurance (Healthfirst) does not provide. Excuse me? I didn't even get a proper clean from this annual cleaning. She inspected my teeth, poked at it with her scaler and told me I had 6 cavities. Seriously, did my teeth really deteriorate over the span of 1.5 years? I didn't question her expertise but was VERY much skeptical. Why? She already knew what health insurance I had when I went in to meet her. "Don't worry, your health insurance will cover all your fillings." Fine. What do I lose. I went ahead and did 4 fillings. Second time I went in for my 2nd set of fillings, she told me I had 7. How did that number go up and HOW are you telling this to me now. The more I sat around to discuss and understand my situation, the more shady vibes I got from it all. I suppose she got annoyed of me being inquisitive when she exhaled: "okthankyoubye" in one breath. Their lack of thoroughness and inability to address concerns infuriates me-- How are you doing business? Everything is delivered as a matter of fact, with a very lazy delivery. I don't say this lightly. My appointment confirmation calls were 80% a different time from what was said. (ex: Scheduling for 3pm turned into "We will see you at 3:45pm tomorrow, etc). I saw so many loose ends during my visits that this place is undeniably unprofessional. I'm not one to scrutinize harshly on small businesses but Rainbow Dental is somewhere I never want to return or recommend. You have a defensive dentist, ready to charge the insurance (maybe you) with whatever procedure you may or may not need. And sleepy employees. read more

Do not go to this dentist!!!! This is the only bad review I have ever given. Someone needs to take these people to court. Here are the reasons why: 1. They were unable to give me X-rays after 3 attempts. I'm not sure why. I made them stop trying because I don't want excess radiation exposure. 2. The dental "cleaning" was a joke. Toothpaste was smeared onto my teeth with a finger and the electrical polisher was clumsily used for a grand total of 60 seconds on all of my teeth. They did not scale the teeth, did not remove any plaque or tartar. 3. The dentist was rude and lied to me. Without X-rays to refer to and a brief look into my mouth, she told me I had more than 10 cavities and needed several fillings replaced. I've always taken good care of my teeth so hearing this without any proof of these issues was a red flag that I needed a second opinion. 4. I complained about this dentist to my insurance provider and the dentist has not responded to the provider regarding these issues. 5. I went to NYU School of Dentistry. After X-rays and several examinations of my teeth, I was told that I have ZERO cavities and I do not need any of my fillings replaced. 6. Do not go to this dentist or they will try to give you fillings in healthy teeth that do not have cavities and replace fillings that do not need replacing. 7. They take advantage of insurance companies and patients by charging for dental work that was never performed and isn't necessary in the first place. This place needs to be shut down before claiming more victims. 8. I recommend NYU School of Dentistry. They help poor people like me. read more

Rainbow Dental is extremely dishonest and will do anything they can to milk you of all the money you have. Not only did she lie about my cavities (with each visit a new cavity appeared) she had lied about my insurance not covering a deep cleaning aka a scaling procedure. Not only was I informed by Dentaquest which is affiliated with Healthfirst that it was COVERED she continuously kept pressing me with lies. She attempted to make me pay out of pocket $80 I went with my gut and left that horrible place. Do not go here! I was informed by another dentist that the filling she had done was not filled correctly and I will now have to pay out of pocket to fix this procedure. Care about your teeth? First time here. I am not impressed with the business. Location wise it's not in the best neighborhood. I was first seen by an assistant. The Dr. later passed by the office for a quick run. I've had some dental work done here previously and while I'm not a fan of dental procedures or really leaving reviews the dentist really made me feel at ease during the whole process. I've been to a bunch of terrible dentists in the past so it was nice to go somewhere that I didn't really have to worry about anything. I'm so unhappy with the service, I went in for an extraction but that didn't workout, after the oral surgeon tried numbing me three times with three different Shots. Came to conclusion I needed to be put to sleep they sent me to a place that didn't take me insurance and another place that wanted a consultation then send a request to my insurance company for approval mind you this is supposed to be an emergency this been over two months and teeth hasn't been removed. Dr. manner isn't a very nice dentist she's extremely called and even my daughter didn't like her nor wanted to go back to her again. I regret wasting the time I did with this office and I don't recommend them to anyone who isn't from their culture because you will be mistreated or not treated in my case. read more

I have gone here numerous times and they have made me feel really comfortable compared to other dentist offices in the past. They are very transparent about there procedures and while being kind & considerate at the same time. You will find the facility very clean and tidy. They knew my husband has epilepsy and assured me he was ok to get his cavity filled. I was in the waiting room and see a guy that worked there run out to the street looking around. Next thing, about a minute later they call me back and tell me he's been having a seizure and have called an ambulance. He's seizing on his back in the chair and they are just standing around. My understanding was they didn't come get me when it happened, lied about how long he was actively seizing, called an ambulance before talking to me even though they knew I was there and his condition...they didn't want to be responsible for his outcome.....they said they would call and follow up. Didn't and had a hard time getting any records or info from them. They argued with me the entire time from beginning to end! Said they will not treat him in the future...Like we would but that's illegal. Not ok. read more

This is by far the worse place I have ever received services from. Not professional nor human. This is all about the money kind of place. And even with money I don't think that are capable of giving quality care/services to anyone. Most of the staff are asleep throughout the day and the rest are careless. These pickings of staff are only in number of maybe a handful. If you see this place or Doctor anywhere I'd advise you please RUN!!! Dr. Mannan has been our family's dentist for a long time and I couldn't be more pleased with her service. She is extremely personable and professional. As a longtime patient I came in for a routine check up and found I had to get a filling done. She was very patient in responding to my questions regarding changes in my X Rays, insurance coverage, etc. She was very wary of my pain tolerance level and communicated to me how I should indicate discomfort, if any. I left my appointment feeling gratified and with more knowledge regarding my treatment plan. The appointment was smooth from start to finish, with almost no wait! Thank you! read more

This is absolutely the worst dentist I have come across. They billed my mother's insurance for a cleaning that she never even got to do. I called the place and spoke to the manager and he said that they bill cleanings and tell the patients that the next time they come in, they will get the cleaning for free (which is obviously stupid. Bill the insurance the day you do the practice). My mother was never told that so she was confused when she called to make an appointment to do her cleaning 1 month later and they told her she had to pay completely OOP. The manager also claimed that they do this because you can't do fillings and cleanings on the same day, which obviously you could. You just have to plan accordingly. This manager was incredibly rude and knew what this place did was wrong and yet, tried to criticize my intelligence saying I don't know anything about dental practices and tried to defend the actions of his colleagues, instead of apologizing for a blatant mistake. It took this man 10 minutes to apologize for his mistake. I do not recommend this place at all. They are clearly money hungry. If you're not gonna do the job, you shouldn't get paid for it by the insurance! read more

I never leave a comment for anything. But this place is so bad that I just had to warn others. They don't even deserve the one star. It should get zero. The dentist is so bad you go in and while she is really nice and seems like a good person she's not good at what she does. My insurance sucks and she is one of the few places that takes it so I had to go there. She has done a couple of fillings for me a few times because every time she does them so bad. At first I thought wow maybe it's me. Maybe I'm not taking care of them the way someone's supposed to but I brush them like everyone is supposed to. The last straw was when I returned to her one final time to try and fix the same cavity she fixed before and she had to give me the numbing injection not once, not twice but three times because she couldn't get it right. My whole mouth was swelled up before she managed to get it right. I had enough so I looked up another dentist outside my insurance and he took one look at my mouths X-ray and literally asked me what happened and where I went. He said that it was some of the worst work he has ever seen in his life and that she shouldn't have her license. Because of her shitty work I ended up having to get a root canal. I'm not one of those insane yelpers but just someone that wishes someone had told me that this place was bad before I went. So if you have no other options then look again and if not go here and good luck. read more
