I've brought my 10lb Yorkie Shi tzhu to Rain Dogs 3 times and in 7 years it's 1 of 2 that gave Auggie an excellent cut from the start. Groomers haven't always trimmed his feet nor gotten his face right but here the feet & ears are so nice 'n neat and his face is beautiful! Body isn't choppy. Jennifer, the owner has always been polite. Dogs aren't caged like 90% of groomers and Rain Dogs offers a web cams. 2023 vs the Past: Often we can increase success by helping ourselves. Bring in a printed pic of your dog with notes or email it (a few days before)so you aren't taking up extra groomer time at drop-off. For the 1st time in history, we have a skilled labor shortage. Biz are still trying to accommodate to the demand. We can complain about the smallest details or understand a bit more. Otherwise learn a lot of new skill sets! read more

I am writing this only to protect other dogs from being injured by the owner's husband. My poodle had both front paws injured- more than clipper burn- red/swollen/could not walk. vet gave him an injection and antibiotics- owner denied and said I signed papers regarding liability-- they are dishonest and unscrupulous. read more

I use Rain Dogs for trimming my cat's nails. No appointment is needed for this service. They clip his nails quickly with no issues.

They have always down an amazing job with our pups! We feel that they are careful, loving, and efficient!

I have a very energetic 7-month-old cavapoo, Sophie. This was her first time at a groomer, our previous groomer came to our home, but due to illness could not continue, so our girl had quite a few mats. She is a handful, but Jennifer and her staff were kind and patient and did a great job. Sophie came home happy and looking so pretty. The atmosphere is so relaxing and they take great care keeping dogs safe as they are cage-free. I highly recommend Rain Dogs!! read more

Rain Dogs Pet Grooming - Going to a pool party after my haircut - Pet Groomers Near Me - Venice, Florida

My dogs love this place!! Miss Jenn and Miss Hazel and Mr John go above and beyond to groom our fur babies in a timely manner. We appreciate getting appointments scheduled for the next year in December so that dates and times are on our calendars. We are grateful for the reminder phone call the night before. It's apparent that they love our animals as their own. Having a fenced in outdoor area and no cages while there is a BIG plus. Highly recommend!!! read more

Total rip off. They tell you one price when you drop the dog off and a higher price when you return to pick them up. Terrible cut. Totally unprofessional. They take advantage of anyone who is seasonal. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Thank you for the wonderful care with Apollo! He is a Happy dog! We will definitely be back! Thank you again!

I love Rain Dogs. The salon itself is neat as a pin (no doggy odor whatsoever), cute as can be, run be friendly professionals, and promptly trim pets to limit time away from home. Reasonable prices. I always tip because their services are heads above the competitors. Here's our Heike after today's spa day. read more

Rain Dogs Pet Grooming - Our little Heike after today's spa day at Rain Dogs. Great grooming. - Pet Groomers Near Me - Venice, Florida

Unfriendly and unprofessional. This was my first time visiting Rain dog grooming. Upon my check-in the lady behind the desk was in a foul mood & stated she needed another cup of coffee. I've had those days myself, so I proceeded to give her my information and then she called for the groomer. When the groomer arrived they asked me to sign a waiver. My previous groomer never asked to sign a waiver. So out of curiosity I began asking questions based of the form I was asked to sign. After a few questions the lady iou behind the desk stated" this is to much you should take him and leave". If your new in town and looking for a groomer don't bother with this place, very rude. read more

We took our mini golden doodle there twice. The first time was not a full cut. The second time we were charged $85. I have lived in California, and Oregon and never paid over $65 for the same services. I have found a groomer that is more reasonable and does a excellent job in Venice. read more

Rocky loves Rain Dogs. He loves socializing and hanging out with the other dogs. He always looks his best after his grooming. Staff is friendly and caring. read more

I'm impressed so far. We came down at the end of March and they manage to squeeze my dog in amongst the Snowbird business, didn't get the cut quite right but were so apologetic it was easy to let it go. I brought Lucy in for the second time, she saw John, and he did a beautiful job on her. She was very happy when I picked her up so I know she was treated well read more

Too many dogs in a days time and to many groomers . It's a churn and burn environment

My 9 year-old terrier was groomed at Raindogs last Thursday. A few hours after I brought her home, she was scratching at her ears, rubbing her head at anything she could rub up on. I thought that maybe some water had gotten into her ears at grooming and I put a mild ear solution in her ears to soothe them. When the scratching persisted and I could tell something was really wrong, I called Jennifer at Raindogs and asked if something happened during her grooming. She stated that perhaps she forgot to take the cottonballs out of Lily's ears. She explained that sometimes she gets distracted an apologized. I got tweezers and removed the cotton. Irritation went away and Lily was ok. Over the week-end, Lily developed a persistant, honking cough. Last night was a long night..........no sleep for Lily or me. I took her to my vet and he confirmed kennel cough. I had called Jennifer to alert her to our situation and was told that the staff at Raindogs would be notified. I also told her that my dog was vaccinated for kennel cough. I thought she was. I was actually 3 monts overdue for having Lily vaccinated for kennel cough. Apparently she was up to date on all vaccinations but Kennel. I even had her boarded 7 weeks ago and showed the pet resort her vaccine report and they didn't notice the error. So, when I indicated that Lily was up to date I truly thought she was. I called Jennifer this afternoon to share with her my disappointment in how the ear incident was handled with no follow up to see how Lily was doing. No sense of concern for the fact that Lily was so ill with the horrible cough. I did not ask for any reimbursement for vet bill or speak in an accusatory way. I just wanted to let her know between us that I thought she could have handled all in a better way. I did not want to post this for all to see. I wanted to explain this between us. A few minutes after we concluded our conversation, her employee called me to state that they contacted my vet and found out that Lily was not up to date on her KC vac and I should not come back to raindogs. Thanks, but we had already made that decision! Time to request vaccine records raindogs! read more

Took my Willow there today it was great very friendly clean she loved it. Thank u Rain Dog for such a great job. Tina

Wonderful! I love Jennifer, the owner. She is very sweet and loves what she does! My dogs are allowed to hang out and aren't confined to crates. Her salon is extremely clean and pet friendly. The only concern I have is my dogs not wanting to come home with me after having so much fun there! LOL I never feel rushed, she is very honest and her prices are very good. She has even made notes to ensure that she grooms my poodle exactly how I want him! They also have cameras where you can watch them get groomed from your home or work computer. They have been nothing but sweet & gentle to my dogs. Unfortunately, that is not the case with many groomers. I am so glad I found Jennifer & Rain dogs! My dogs smell absolutely divine after their grooming and are always happy when they are there! read more

Rain Dogs Pet Grooming - Pet Groomers Near Me - Venice, Florida

Had been going there since last Oct (new to FL). Everything was fine till I was switched to a different groomer. First time the job done was ok. My husband picked up our dog the second time and much to my dismay when I saw him the next day the hair cut looked like a rush job and he did not smell like he had been bathed. It's been 5 days since he was there and his coat looks like he never went. Tried to speak to the owner when she returned from vacation - to get our money back - including the underserved tip. Grooming there costs way too much for unprofessional work. Won't go back. read more

Rain Dogs is Now Pipits Groomer!! This is the 1st time after 3 that she didn't seem freaked out when I went to pick her up. And she had the best cut of any previously. She also had her nails trimmed, ears cleaned and anal gland expressed all very reasonably priced so if you take your fur baby there please leave them a nice tip. They are definitely the best we have been to in Venice after 6yrs. Thank You All at Rain Dogs. read more

Rain Dogs did a great job with Moxie. She loved the staff, the other dogs and the facility. It was like a little playground while she had her spa day. We will definitely bring Moxie back when in this area again. Thank you! You are awesome! read more

Rain Dogs Pet Grooming - Moxie after her spa day! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Venice, Florida

Rain dogs is clean, has a pleasant aroma when you enter, service is prompt and great. I cannot say Jennifer could do this for everyone, but she was able to quickly come pick up my Roxie when I accidentally locked myself out of the house on my way to drop her off for grooming. I live only around the corner so it was very convenient, however, it was still extremely kind and showed excellent customer service. Again, this is a testament to Jennifer's dedication to her business and I cannot say transporting your pet is a service she regularly offers. Jennifer is personable, nice, and was quickly responsive to my needs. I love that in a business owner. read more

When I moved here my neighbor recommended Rain Dogs. The first visit was ok, however it went downhill since then. My dog was always great with any groomer she had in the past and received rave reviews on her care by us and her behavior with them. Unfortunately Rain Dogs groomer clipped my girls back end really close causing razor burn and a visit to the vet to be sure it wasn't something else. The groomer said she "had to" because she was dirty. Trust me, if there was anything "dirty" about her back end, we would have known since we combed her every day. The groomer was just in a rush. This action caused my dog to become uneasy about anyone doing anything back there. Especially this groomer. The next time I took her in I asked for a scissor cut and not the clippers on her back end. All the groomer did was complain about how hard she was to handle and charged me ten dollars more. THIS GROOMER NEEDS A NEW PROFESSION! I spoke to the owner and she defended her groomer but during that conversation she also mentioned that they muzzled my dog! No groomer should EVER muzzle a dog without the owners permission. I would have gone back and picked her up before I would have let that happen. Who knows what else they did! I heard scared dogs screaming in the background while we spoke. This is not a good environment for any dog. If my dog reacted negatively it was because of how she was being treated. Dogs are smart. Rain Dogs has way too many dogs in a day and are impatient if the dog needs a slow hand. Since then we have gone to another groomer and are back to getting rave reviews about her care and behavior. What does that tell you?? read more

Great dog/cat groomer. Use for our dog! Friendly, clean and accommodating! Dogs have comfortable space to roam when not actively attended. Also they have gates to separate dogs if needed. All dogs look happy and healthy. Live web cam is fun to use and watch process! Reasonable prices. read more

Had my Standard Poodle groomed here on Thursday for the first time @ a cost of $110.00. When I got home I noticed that his tail was a bit fuller than I liked so Friday morning I called to set up a time to bring him back. I called again late morning and left another message and again on Saturday morning. No return call. Lots of great groomers in the Venice area, I will not come back. read more

I brought me standard poodle to be groomed as my family was coming to visit and I wanted her to look good. I have never been so upset as I was when I picked my dog up. She looks in a word, ugly. They shaved all the fur from her ears and tale. Her head looks like there is a helmet on it. This is the worst haircut I have ever seen. I will never get my dog groomed here again. They do not deserve to be paid for what they did to my dog. To add insult to injury, when I complained, they told me they were unwilling to comb out the knots in her hair. They went directly against the instructions I provided for the look I wanted my dog to have. I should have been consulted before they lopped off all of her fur. Stay away from this place. Also my dog was trepidatious about stepping foot in the place. It may be a clue to how the dogs are actually treated after you leave them to be groomed. read more

This is a lovely little groomer! All of the dogs hang out in a common area, I love being able to see the dogs and how comfortable and happy they all are! I hate groomers where the dogs are kept in crates out back all day and you have no idea how they're being treated. To be even more transparent they have a webcam that you can check in on your dogs with! The dogs were so happy hanging out on the doggy furniture and looking out the cut out windows on their level. The prices are unbelievable (5 for a nail trim and 45 for a full groom) and the work is amazing from what I've seen. Such a clean well cared for doggy salon. The owner who worked with my dog was so sweet and gentle with him. Everything was well done, even a simple nail trim was filed down after with a dremel. We will definitely be back! read more

Way Way Way over priced ! Would not recommend. Groomer complained about 8 mo old labradoodle when I dropped off and when I picked up.. she was running hour behind so I said bath and sanitary would be fine ... COULD NOT BELIEVE THE PRICE! read more

Jennifer and her staff are great at what they do. I have two Maltese (one teacup and one regular) and their hair can be hard to do if the groomer doesn't know what they are doing. Also, my dogs have a good time while there. I love that they are crate free it relieves so much stress for my dogs. They have cameras so you can check in but I don't bc I trust them to take care of my babies!! Been going for a year with no issues. read more

Awful customer service. The owner was rude to me and my dog. She demanded more money from me becaus my dog was "disgusting". Bad service. High charges. Save your time and don't go here. read more

We brought our two dogs to Jennifer at Rain dogs. They can be high maintenance, one is 16 and cranky with separation anxiety and the other is just a baby. We had been very unhappy with the last place we had taken them and so were a little concerned as we dropped them off. No need for concern here. It is obvious from the moment you walk in the door that she loves what she does and is very proud of her salon. She should be, where else would your dogs be treated to blueberry facials! I don't remember what she said she used on them, (all natural) but I have never seen them so clean. Our white dog has never been this white! The cuts were just perfect. We were able to tune in by web cam as they were being groomed and they seemed very relaxed during the process, hard to believe. We will definitely be continuing here , very reasonable prices. We are no longer concerned about dropping off our babies at the groomers. read more

Too expensive, took longer than quoted and our pet came home sad. Missed her dinner time and groomer did not honor request for a simple bow, rather putting in a hideous spectator that looked like something a lady of the night would wear. When she got home she ignored my house guests she typically runs to for affection. Not impressed and will not return. read more

We inherited my daughter's bishon, Benji. Searched the internet for groomers and thought this would be nice for him so he could mingle with other dogs. NOT a good idea. When I picked him up he seemed to have enjoyed himself but I didn't appreciate or enjoy trying to get rid of the fleas he brought home with him. Will definitely go somewhere else where he can be groomed and kept apart from the others. Cut was nothing special but it will grow out. Getting rid of the fleas, not as easy. read more

So thrilled with the love and compassion shown by Jennifer and her stafff. My yorkie Edgar was so beautiful when I picked him up! He was groomed and cared for beyond! Thank you so much Jennifer and team for your compassion and professional care. Highly recommended! Amazing! read more

I had gone to Jennifer when she was at another grooming salon and she did an okay job. We left town for nearly six months and decided to find out where she moved to since she was no longer at the original place. Should have been a red flag that she had gone through more than one place in such a short time. We made an appointment with her in her own salon. When we took our baby in it was very noisy and hectic with dogs running around. Should have just left but we had made the appointment. We were told when to return, but when we arrived she was not finished. The correct thing would have been to place a simple call to tell us but that didn't happen. We were told to go get a cup of coffee and then come back. We missed an appointment due to her unprofessional behavior. When we finally got our dog, her nails were very sharp and jagged and 2 were bleeding. I am aware that it's not easy to trim nails, but that's why they make files or dremel tools. Don't know what kind of shampoo she used either but our dog smelled really bad when she got wet. Also, I could have given a better cut than Jennifer gave but with her snippy attitude when I mentioned the nails I just wanted to get my baby out of there. Jennifer may have been having a bad day, but I'll NEVER go back to find out. read more
