The Duomo Piazza is a great place to have dinner and see Italy at its best. It's off the beaten path, but you'll see a few tourists make it here. They have a lot of great restaurants within a block or two of the duomo. As with most plazas / piazzas in Italy, it gets busier later in the evening. Restaurants start filling up around 8pm. Oh, and the Duomo is gated at night, so you can't go up the steps to it...just take pictures from down the street.

Dating back to the time after the devastating earthquake in the 1600s this basilica has undergone several rescontstructive facelifts. Most recently in the 1990s when another earthquake struck. The basilica was only recently opened to the public in 2007. Frescos, columns and a beautiful dome and staircase that leads you to the giant doors of the basilica is only the icing on the cake. A beautiful place to worship and pray.
