Kung Fu (Chinese) Karate (Japanese) are not respected as a blended art anywhere else in the world. They have their own distinctions respectively.

I'm taking the classes because I live in NYC and will be riding the subway to & from school, which can be dangerous. Juan is teaching me very useful techniques such as what to do if you are choked, if someone pulls a knife or gun on you, if you are bearhugged, et cetera. Learning these techniques have given me confidence that I will have an idea of what to do if something dangerous happens, and Juan has made learning these techniques interesting and enjoyable. He is really down to earth, nice, humble and a great teacher. Also, the room in which classes are held are very clean, and Juan creates a great learning environment. I cannot recommend Krav Maga Fairfield enough!

I personally have always been a fan of weight lifting and strength training but going to the Fit Club classes such as the "body shock" and "ultimate fitness" where they always mix it up and usually it involves circuit training, alternating with body weight exercises and actual weights- I have been experiencing far more intense workouts then when I used to train on my own. I've always loved working out but I've never been able to Push as hard on my own as when I'm being instructed in the classes. Oh! I finally began to join the cardio boxing classes there too! I was way too shy/nervous/intimidated at first to do this but finally gave in cause it looked so fun. I'm a total convert. Now my favorite classes are the boxing! I get such an insane workout and I have such a good time, the instructors are awesome and I love the music! Everyone who goes to this gym is so friendly and it's such a wide range of people who come in, age, fitness level, etc that l can't see anyone walking in and feeling out of place. Also, I sometimes go into the gym when there's not a class going on just to do acro-yoga and play and do my own workouts.

I was great right away by the girl at the first desk (I'm sorry I can't remember her name ). She helped get me situated and told me what to expect. Because this was my first time I had no clothes (jiu zitsu robe or pants). I believe it was the owners daughter who helped me out right away along with the other lady get ready. Just the friendliness they showed helped me put my guard down alittle more. As we started i can't lie I could not do half the warm-ups that they were doing but once again the girls helped me get right through it. When I started my training the other guy helped me and one other person and he was so sweet and really amazing! I have went to free trials of many other gyms such as title boxing in Milford, UFC fighting in Norwalk and right off the bat they make you feel like they just want your money and once you are unsure about joining they become a little rude and then give you a cold shoulder. This particular training facility didn't. Everybody including the teachers were VERY patient, VERY HUMBLE and just accepting. I may have been sore after and exhausted but I learned so much in 1 hour and actually had fun. I will be signing up and hopefully within the next few months I can be in a higher belt! I felt welcomed by everyone there. You can truly tell that the staff cares for each child that walks in the door. I wanted my son to take up martial arts because of his distractibility/lack of focus in school. Since he's been attending East Coast Academy of Tae Kwon Do his teachers have noticed such a huge improvement in his behavior & with focusing. It has also helped him with sports like Flagfootball & basketball. He said if I commit after my first session he will take the $50 fee for that session away which seemed like a good offer. I go and it's basically a guy who made the best of a terrible situation. The facility is horrible, but he tries to make it look legit with equipment and designing the interior of the gym (which is a basement storage closet at best and I would much rather have a trainer train me at my house). In any event the session was terrible. Most of the time was wasted by having me to jump rope and jumping jacks, then he held the hit pads things for 10 minutes then asked me to commit to a package. When he showed me the prices the lowest offer he had was something like $5,000 for 40 sessions or something absurd. I quickly left after giving him his $50 dollar fee for the wasted session. Don't ever go here, I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down yet especially in a place like Fairfield. It's a complete scam and I'm not even convinced the guy is a real trainer...

I just started coming here so I have alot to explore at edge fitness. Plenty of turf to stretch on and studios for classes like cycling and things of that nature. They have a team training room and a personal trainer section out on the floor. I recommend coming here.
