Wonderful spot to stay while you are in Bordeaux. Location location location, service, service,…read moreservice!!!! Rooms are small but normal for European standards. What it lacks in size it more then makes up for in all other areas. The breakfasts were very good with a huge selection of items. You can have specialty coffees if you like. Charcuterie to egg and speciality breads. One service side sweet and the other salty. Love the chic urban design and youth oriented feel. Although I am no longer young it appealed to my " young at heart "energy and the staff is sure to make sure you are comfortable and well cared for. Take a drink on the roof top terrace if you get the chance the views are stunning and great drink selection. Great shops and restaurants within a very short walking area. Be sure to try one of the local restos (looks in the day like there is nothing around in the day but late afternoon look for it to all come to life. One place a short walk away was an awesome Nature/Bio wine bar (Comptoir St. Vincent ) we fell in love with. (Antoine the Gérant) will guide you with his knowledge, expertise, and laidback way to sample wines he has selected from his own personal travels. Worth an evening stop and then head to Bourse for the magic night shot. Check in and out were a breeze and when we had arrived very early the staff secured our baggage so we could get on with exploring this great city. Will definitely hunt for more Mama Shelters in other Cities we visit. Saw there is one In Prague ........ next stop maybe?

The accommodations are great, huge rooms with large bathrooms. The best part is that it is an easy walk to the tram, the Cite du Vin, the market, and the river. Despite not being in the city center the proximity to the tram line makes it very easy to get anywhere in Bordeaux. During our two weeks in France and Spain this was the best bed and nights of sleep we had.

We showed up at 1pm and the room was not ready. The check in time is 3pm on the website. We came back around 5pm. the room was ready but the check-in took 20mins. 2. The WIFI system is a pain in the a**. You need to have a separate access code for each device. However, it was fast. 3. The room was super dirty. Stains on the wall, floor, bathroom and curtains. 4. They gave us a room for disabled people. The sink was super low. I am a 6ft man and it was not a great experience to use this bathroom. 5. This hotel offers a breakfast for 16 euros/pp which is a total rip-off. Don't be fooled and go to a nice bakery for 4x less. there are many around the hotel. The pros: 1. Friendly staff 2. The bed was comfy 3. Location was OK. Walking to downtown is around 30mins. By tramway it is around 15mins. 4. Modern hotel 5. $10USD parking is a fair deal if you have a fancy car. You can also park in the street for free, and there are plenty of spots. Overall I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel until they fix the issues that I had during my stay. This hotel has a good potential but for now is far away from a 4-star hotel.

Since then it has garnered the highest reviews amongst hotels in Bordeaux on TripAdvisor and the major travel sites. After staying there for several evenings, I'm honestly not sure why that is the case. It appears the hotel has about 25 rooms. On the positive side, the location is right where you want to be, there is a great wine bar that offers evening wine and cheese tastings with a very knowledgeable sommelier for a (hefty) price, and the energetic staff is wonderful and responsive. The downside is there's only so much you can do with a 250-300 year old space to retrofit it into a luxury hotel room that is worth anywhere near what they charge. It's not a bad place, per se, I just can't imagine how this earned its ranking as the "#2 place to stay in Bordeaux." OK place, pricey for what is delivered. Next visit to Bordeaux I'll mix it up and try somewhere different.
