I had the HVAC system replaced by Sierra Air. Some trim was removed to fit the new furnace into the attic. They sent out Radcliffe painting to reinstall the trim and make a new ceiling panel for the opening. Sam, the owner came out. I am so impressed with his work. I asked to have the panel painted with semi-gloss this time to avoid fingerprints. He suggest painting the surface of the trim in semi, and the bottom in flat to match the existing ceiling. It's small details that make the finished product. I will definitely us Radcliffe for any future painting needs. They are a local family owned business and care about their work. read more

I reached out to get a quote via their online inquiry page. They reached out to ask when I am available, but then suggested a different time slot than I had requested. Which was ok, I made it work by moving some things around in my schedule. Turns out they no show to their scheduled time. I did not receive a call, text, or email informing they were not able to arrive at the agreed time. Instead I reached out to find out they were in Tahoe. I am not sure why we had a estimate scheduled if the person was going to be in Tahoe at the appointment time. Very little effort was made to get my business and I am disappointed as it is a pretty large project. read more

Results speak for themselves and the end product was way beyond what we expected. Our kitchen cabinets look great. Rachael was able to come out right away after initial contact to give an estimate. We were able to agree on a fair price. It took about one week to finish the job. The most difficult part was living without a kitchen for a few days as the whole room was taped off while the cabinets were primed and painted. Doug did a great job in explaining what was going to happen and what to expect. The primer fumes, however were stronger than expected, but we opened all windows in the house and it was fine within hours. After our furnace was installed, the attic access was deformed and the drywall and moulding needed serious cosmetic repairs. Also the replacement of our old thermostat left scarring on the surrounding wall. Radcliffe Painting did the repair work and Samuel did such an amazing job that the attic access now looks better than new and the wall around the new thermostat is flawless. Radcliffe Painting was recommended to us by a friend how had a similar condition house...older wood siding in need of serious help! The house hadn't been painted in nearly 10 years and was a former rental of ours. We had our handyman paint it and did an OK job. It was way past due! We called Racheal and she came out within a day to walk the house and give us a quote the next day. We knew there was going to be a lot of prep work as well as a recommendation for repairing warped paneling that was constantly hit by the sprinklers. We felt confident with her, based on the work they had done at our friend's house and contracted with them. As we were in the process of getting a new roof and windows, Radcliffe was very flexible based on the time lines of the other contractors, delayed mostly due to our rainy spring weather. I waited one year after their work was complete before commenting in Yelp. Why? That which looks terrific for a week can end up looking shabby after a few months. Well. The verdict is in. Radcliffe was terrific to work with, and even provided valuable insight on color selection. Their bid was transparent, and there were no contractual surprises. Their work on our 35 year old wood-sided house was thorough, completed on time, and looks terrific a year later. They even left me with plenty of touch-up paint. Our home exterior was an unmaintained Sierra Nevada mess, and had not been painted for at least 12 years, possibly more. Some of the 35+ year old wood siding was in bad shape and most surfaces required substantial preparation. And that is a key point: a couple of other contractors only focused on getting paint on the house. Radcliffe was explicit about preparing the surfaces so the paint would look good on the house, protect those wood surfaces, and stay on the house. We are up in Galena Forest, and the HOA is quite particular about exterior finishes. Our HOA was quite complimentary about the completed project. In my opinion...It is rare to deal with a contractor and have a positive outcome. Most are con artists and ready to take your money and do a mediocre job...never to be seen again. So you can imagine I dreaded having to find a painter or painting company to come in and do what they say they would do. Radcliffe did every thing they said they would do and more. Rachael arrived early to provide me a bid, she promptly quoted me a price that we agreed upon. OOPS... I have been meaning to write a review for Radcliffe painting. Radcliffe painting came out in June 2015. They gave me an estimate on my exterior house. I had other estimation that were the same if not more in prices. The reason why I choose Radcliffe over everyone was because I felt like I can trust them. When Art came out to give me my estimation, I felt like he was completely honest and nice. He talk to me about when they started and how it was family owned. So I put my trust in him and his crew. As for the paint, they told me to go to the place where they get paint and I can get free samples and try it before I decide on a specific color. It was great choosing my colors even though I had to stick with the closest color I originally had because of an HOA. As for the leftover paint, they left it with me for touch ups. And let's just say it comes in handy. In the day they started they did a walk through of the house, and went over everything. They took two days to finish my house completely. When they were done I did a brief walk around looking at the areas I discussed with them. I told them that I will do a thorough walk around and contact them. Later that night(still light out) I did a walk around and saw the paint flawless on my house and my detach garage. But then I noticed something in the back that did not have trim. So I called them to see if they could come out and fix it. When they came they told me that it originally was that color before painting and asked if I wanted to leave it or paint it. I'm pretty picky about specific things and I asked if they could paint it to match the trim on the house. When the stucco on my house started peeling off as a result of the brutal weather last winter, I knew I had to get it repaired and realized that it was also time to get my whole house painted. The last time my house had been painted was before we moved in nine years ago. To identify a reliable, honest painting company is not easy, so I asked around to find out if anyone in my neighborhood had found painters they could recommend. I quickly found a neighbor who gave me an over-the-top recommendation of Radcliffe Painting. Their house had been painted by Radcliffe a few years earlier, and it looked great. I am equally happy to recommend Radcliffe Painting. They came by to inspect the house when they said they would come, and they provided me with a detailed written estimate for both the stucco repair and the painting a few days later. They were willing to negotiate; we agreed on a price, and I paid a 50% deposit. I picked out several possible paint colors for the house and the trim (they had to conform to our HOA restrictions), and Radcliffe painted sample of each on a hidden side of the house, so that I could examine them at different times of day as the light changed. Once I decided on the paints, we set a starting date for the project, and they showed up Monday morning, as promised. The extensive scraping and stucco repairs took a couple of days, but they did not cut corners. Then they power washed everything. After the first day, the crew was five men. They showed up early and worked all day every day until they finished on Friday. The quote included two coats of elastomeric paint, which is expensive but the best for stucco. They were careful to mask everything to prevent paint from going where it did not belong, and they cleaned up daily. Radcliffe was not the lowest bid I got, but I am happy that I chose them. Radcliffe saved the day! We had another painting company come in and assure us he would be professional, you know old school painter style. Well! What a mess that turned in to. Radcliffe came into our home and said it could be fixed, that they would be clan and professional. That they understood this was our first home and it was very important to us. ...and it was EXACTLY that! They communicated with me every step of the way! The lines from the green ink to the white ink are perfect! They spent the time to make things nice and put everything back together better than before. In fact, one painter was on his hands and knees cleaning the floor to make sure it didn't look like painters ransacked our house for 3 days. It may seem silly that good quality painting can have a huge effect on you and your home but that's exactly what it was to us. We finally got the quality and dedication we felt we deserved. Radcliffe Painting painted the interior of my 2500 square foot house. In fairness, the paint looks fantastic. But afterward, I noticed windows had been sprayed, one cabinet was badly scrapped, and paint was spilled on my closet carpet. I understand that painting can be messy work but when I called Racheal to try to work out a deal to either fix this damage (or potentially give me in-kind compensation for another project) my calls were ignored. I would expect more integrity from this company - at least seek to correct the property damage they caused. read more

We called Arthur at Radcliffe Painting a few weeks ago and they came out the next day and gave us a very fair quote on exterior paint. They started just a couple of weeks later.
