We enrolled our son at Peek A Boo Daycare (an in-home daycare) in September 2022 when he was just…read moreover 1.5 years old, based on a trusted recommendation from a colleague. Now, almost three years later, he's transitioning to TK, and while we're excited for this next chapter, leaving Peek A Boo feels incredibly bittersweet. From the very first visit, my husband and I felt confident in our decision. Joy took the time to give us a tour of her home and walked us through everything she provides--structured routines, meals and snacks, learning activities, and most importantly, a safe and nurturing environment. Signing the contract shortly after felt like a no-brainer. The setup was exactly what we were looking for. Peek A Boo offers so much more than just care. Each day includes circle time (songs, counting, shapes, projects to bring home), marker time (drawing, coloring, learning to write names), outdoor play, naps, and consistent routines that help young children thrive. Our son's speech and confidence noticeably improved within the first few months--something we attribute largely to the positive environment and social interaction at daycare. Joy and her two amazing caregivers truly became like family to us. They celebrate birthdays and holidays, and there's a real sense of community. Trusting someone with your child, especially at such a young age, isn't easy--but not once did we ever feel our son was unsafe or uncared for. Joy is incredibly transparent, professional, and communicative--whether it was a quick text, a newsletter, or an email about upcoming vacations or events, we were always in the loop. We are so grateful for the love and care our son received at Peek A Boo. He adores Joy and his friends, and we know he's going to miss seeing them every day. We absolutely loved our time here and already plan to enroll our next child when the time comes. Thank you, Joy, for giving our son such a beautiful and loving early childhood experience--we will always hold Peek A Boo close to our hearts. We highly recommend Peek A Boo Daycare to any family looking for a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for their little one.

Joy has a great structured program with circle time, outside play time, arts and crafts, and much more. The kids learn a lot...She is only almost 4 and already knows how to write her name! I also love the flexibility of drop off and pick up times. A bonus is that breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided too! They celebrate birthdays and have events for the kids for Halloween, Easter, and other holidays. Her 2 assistants are wonderful and great with the kids as well. Peekaboo daycare has truly become like family to us. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, reliable, trustworthy, and affordable daycare for their little one!

They have become a second family and…read moremade it so easy as parents to find a sense of peace knowing our kiddos are being well cared for. All of my children have been with them since they were infants (2 months & 5 months old). Their day to day is structured which helps create a routine for the kids and they know what to expect each day. The program includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks which are all nutritious and my kids love (I give credit for my kiddos being great eaters, they love veggies, to the balanced meals they receive). Even from infancy formula is provided if needed along with food plans outlined once solids are introduced. Once old enough they facilitate a preschool program, my two year old can hold a pencil correctly and does his worksheets daily. The early introduction to these skills continue on to help prepare for kindergarten. We decided to keep our kids at Harvest House until they started kindergarten, and credit the curriculum and dedication they set in place of reading, sight words, and math to setting them up for success. My 8 and 5 yr old progressed at different paces but both felt more confidence going into kindergarten. In the eight years we have been with them they haven't been closed outside the Holidays and Vacation days outlined at the beginning of the year, providing us working parents with the reliability and stability needed. Harvest House has been a blessing for our family creating a safe, caring, and structured program for our kids. My eight year old still wants to go back to ZaZa's and Papa's on her school breaks. Truly could not recommend Harvest House more as top notch child care provider. Ainsley, Hadley, Dalton, Doug and Kali

From the moment you see the space, you can feel the difference -- her home and large backyard offer room for children to move, play, and grow in a calm, nurturing environment. It feels like family, not a crowded commercial center. The children are well cared for, fed fresh organic vegetables and even home-grown fruits, and they come home happy, clean, and secure every day. What truly sets Harvest House apart is the focus on early learning, especially reading and math. Ms. Sylvia follows an old-school, pen-and-paper approach that emphasizes literacy, numbers, and repetition over constant arts and crafts. I've had two daughters here -- my first (Delaney) attended from age 3 to 5, and my second (Henley) started as a newborn at just 2 months old and is still with Ms. Sylvia now at age 5, entering kindergarten next year. My youngest has already surpassed the kindergarten curriculum: she knew sight words by age 2.5, began reading by 3.5, and now reads at a second-grade level. When my first daughter was born, I called Harvest House Daycare when she was six months old and there was no space available. At the time, I enrolled her in an expensive, brand-name private school believing the higher price would guarantee better care and education. I later learned that branding and cost do not equal quality. The structure, academic focus, and individualized attention at Harvest House far exceeded what we experienced elsewhere. We were incredibly fortunate to later secure a spot, and both of my daughters thrived here academically, socially, and emotionally. The price is absolutely worth it when you consider the long-term growth, confidence, and academic advantage your child gains. With reliable hours from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., genuine care, and a strong academic foundation, Harvest House Daycare offers something rare -- a place where children are truly prepared for school and life, not just watched during the day. If something is happening out of the norm with our little one, she always gave us a heads up even if a pick up isn't needed. When it is needed, we already have the heads up so it's not a surprise. There's always pictures and videos! Both our boys went to Mikka's and considered her family. Our youngest started with her at 4 months. We would've started him at 3 months if there was an opening. From day 1 with Moore we noticed a big difference. He's much more regulated, he actually naps (!!!), he's made friends and he genuinely enjoys going to school each day. The app allows for direct communication with his teacher if needed and we get updates all day on what he's up to. The teachers are friendly but still firm with the kids when needed which is great. They do a ton of activities including learning numbers, letters, their names, doing sensory activities, practicing fine and gross motor skills, etc. Moore isn't going to be your standard daycare center with pristine rooms and strict schedules. They're a daycare center with a home daycare feel. My son often comes home covered in dirt with shoes full of sand and we LOVE it. We like that you can tell the kids have played all day because it means they got to be kids.

Their philosophy is much more creative and evidence-based, promoting more independence and exploration which was refreshing compared to the other preschools I toured. The interior is very homey, clean, and creative. They are always making upgrades and changing it up, keeping it refreshed. The cost is comparable to other preschools I toured. The teachers are phenomenal. My girl had Ms. Emma, Ms. Tasha, and Ms. Esther. I love the clear communication, and they were all so patient and sweet but still had high expectations for the kiddos. Moore's uses an app to check in and out. I got so many adorable pictures of my girl throughout the day with updates on what she was doing and what she ate that made me feel at ease. Ms. Yasmeen is the assistant director, always at the site. She is so sweet and helpful. She loves the kids, always getting them little trinkets for special occasions and helping out in all areas. Moore's curriculum is very organized with themes changing each month like space, sea animals, cooking, and so on. The art is actually made by the students themselves to encourage creativity. By the end, my girl was drawing her whole family on many of the art projects she brought back. Quite a bit of focus on handwriting as well, which I appreciated. The kiddos get an abundance of playtime outside with all the cool obstacles and activities they have out there. Moore has many guest presenters like Dan the pirate who come and talk about their professions. My girl learned so much and would always tell me little facts that she learned at school. Moore's has a plethora of events throughout the year. My girl attended the Thanksgiving, Easter Egg Hunt, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day Tea Party and so on. There are many others such as the Trunk-or-Treat and pretty much something for every holiday. They also do free photoshoots with Santa and the Easter Bunny! Overall, I am overly pleased with the experience here. My girl made so many friends and even got invited to her first birthday party here from a classmate. I feel very blessed and thankful for Moore Learning and I highly recommend!!

There's so many other centers in Elk Grove (that take child action) please don't need to settle for this place. Sara the owner will gaslight your child before they take anything serious other than protecting her business. In it for the money, not for kids. Said my son was a liar for communicating the way his four year old brain knows how. She shouldn't be involved in childcare. She's a business owner & that's it, she needs to be in another industry. In the video where my son got hurt, an employee walks past as my son holds his eye and somehow no one noticed. No one investigated camera footage or filed injury reports or told his dad or me until I said something the next day (even though his eye was visibly red.) My son crawled towards a kid who accidentally poked his eye. Sara the owner said either my son poked himself or this other child did, because my son fast crawled towards him to headbutt him. My son crawled normally towards him and was clearly not trying to headbutt him, he was acting as a four year old would, going up to someone to play. His eye got poked and she was turning it around on my son as if it's his fault, rather than being a mature adult. He is four years old. The owner Sara said all these kids are like her kids, but she spelt my sons name wrong & I have never seen her. She said think about the other child and his mom, what about my son- the one who got hurt? No one said they were sorry my son got hurt or hoped he was okay. She disenrolled my son without ever asking about my sons eye. She does not care about a child more than her business. During the time he went there my son told me that he plugs chargers in the wall and that his teacher told him he will be fat if he doesn't workout. Other situations would happen and I would ask about them, not accuse. I would tell them what my son would tell me and ask about it. Every time I'd be told that "they didn't see or hear anything like that happen." Somehow no one sees or hears anything here. It's clearly a communication problem and/or not paying attention. I got attitude from his teacher before too, and when I brought it up it was just denied.
