She beautifully used the natural light of the clouds covering the bright sun to create stunning photos. Outside of her incredible photography work, I appreciated Rachel's ability to command a group of people (in the most genuine way) so that photos could be done efficiently. My husband and I are both blessed with large families, and so I was nervous about fitting all of the photos into our timeline. Rachel was able to stick to our tight timeline, without making us feel rushed - this was huge for me. During the reception Rachel displayed a few photos she had taken of my husband and I during our first look and I'm not exaggerating what I say EVERYONE at reception was blown away by how gorgeous the photos were. With so much anticipation to see the entire photo, my husband and I were so delighted to receive all of our photos SO quickly, only a few weeks after our wedding. We did not hire a videographer, so being able to look through all of the candid photos of our guests throughout the night that Rachel and her assistant took brought me to tears, it was so beautiful to see everyone in the moment, smiling, and having an incredible time. I was looking for a photographer to help my husband and I remember a special time in our lives w/my first pregnancy and since the time coincided with the cherry blossoms in DC, I came across Rachel while browsing other cherry blossom maternity photos online. Her photos definitely stood out amongst the others (think bright and airy with gorgeous lighting). I am so glad I stumbled across her because she has been a dream to work with. She was very responsive from the beginning and extremely thorough throughout our experience regarding tips, suggestions, and planning. My husband and I are both quite camera shy but she reassured us she would help us ease into the photo session which she did really well with minimal to no awkwardness =) We had to change one of our locations last minute due to some restrictions that were out of our control but Rachel was able to find an even more beautiful/secluded area (very important b/c our photos were taken during the pandemic). Prior to taking pictures, she spent some time scouting out the best angle for pictures which I really appreciated because it shows her commitment and dedication to the quality of her work. Her turnaround time also exceeded expectations (with next day sneak peek pics and final photos delivering well within expected time frame). Most importantly, the final pictures turned out beautifully!!! It was extremely cold and windy on the day of our session but somehow Rachel was able to work her magic to make it look otherwise like a gorgeous day. Rachel is so wonderful. She took photos at our wedding rehearsal dinner--I was so glad to have captured that event in addition to our actual wedding, and the photos were excellent. The restaurant (Hill Country Barbecue) was a little dark inside, but that wasn't a problem for Rachel! The photos were crisp and clear and priceless. Rachel has been taking photos for me, my husband, and our growing family ever since. She captured some maternity photos when I was about 7 months pregnant, some newborn photos right after my little boy was born, Christmas pictures, and some great family portraits when my grandfather was in town/in advance of my little guy's first birthday. Rachel is an amazing photographer and a delight to work with! I contacted her about shooting a surprise engagement in a somewhat remote location and she was not only quick to respond, but more than willing to make the trek. We used Rachel for a family photo shoot near the capitol building. It was to mark my 30th birthday and my daughter turning 6 months. I could not recommend Rachel more. She was easy to contact and quickly responded when I contacted her. She was super helpful with suggesting good venues to photo. When I mention the capitol building area would be good, she went out of her way to visit the site and suggest a good area. On the day she was very lovely, patient and fun. We really enjoyed the shoot and she got the most beautiful shots of my family. She then edited and got the shots back to us in super quick time. All of this great service at a very reasonable price. As an introvert I was nervous and a little anxious about our photo shoot, but Rachel made it stress-free, easy and fun. She offered advice and great direction, asked if there was anything in particular we would want her to look out for and used our time very well, getting shots at all the locations around the Mall we were after, and even having an outfit change. Generally I don't enjoy taking pictures and I have often not been happy with ones taken for work. Rachel was able to easily put together several shots that look professional, but still natural and not staged.
