    Racetrac Valdosta

We stopped at this new Racetrac location just off Interstate 75 while traveling back from Florida around sunrise on a Sunday morning. This is a new concept store for Racetrac, one of the few Racetracs we have been in that now offers truck islands. The truck islands are located at the back of the store, with the auto islands in the front. We fueled up with regular unleaded, and the new pumps are in perfect working order. The parking lot is larger than most, so it is very easy to find parking and get in and out. It should be easy for vehicles pulling trailers, such as campers, which is difficult at many stops when looking for gas or diesel when pulling a large RV. Inside the store is huge, with lots of open space and selection. We purchased coffee, since Racetrac has the best coffee on the road in our opinion. We also purchased hot food items, which were fresh and excellent. The staff at the front counter was very friendly and greeted us as we walked up to the counter. We elected to use the self-checkout, which is fast and easy. This new location even has an indoor dining area, which creates a great added value for people who need a break from the road while stopping for a bite to eat, bathrooms, and refreshments. This will now be added as a regular stop for us on our Florida trips.

    Great gas price

Let's not get reckless. Nobody is confusing this place with the Disney World of gas stations. But Busy Bee absolutely wants you to know it studied the Buc-ee's playbook in great detail and copied enough homework to pass the class. And honestly? Respect. After hours on the road, I pulled in needing gas, caffeine, food, a restroom, and probably some emotional reassurance from the highway gods. Busy Bee delivered on most of it. First off, the bathrooms were clean. Not "gas station clean." Actually clean. That alone immediately moves a roadside stop up at least one full star in America's travel grading system. Then came the snack exploration phase. They had homemade jerky, specialty snacks, random road trip impulse purchases, and enough "well I wasn't planning to buy this but here we are" items to keep me wandering around longer than intended. It's the kind of place where you walk in for a drink and somehow leave holding candied pecans, smoked sausage, and a giant bag of pork rinds you'll later regret in silence. The overall vibe was solid too. Convenient. Clean. Easy stop. Good energy from the place itself. The employees though? Let's just say the staff had the collective facial expression of people who may have originally applied at Buc-ee's and ended up here after the universe made other plans. Nobody was rude. But there was definitely an emotional support shift happening behind the counter. Still, for a highway stop, Busy Bee absolutely gets the job done. It's a good place to refuel both your gas tank and your stomach before heading back into the chaos of interstate survival. This is probably a true three-and-a-half star stop if we're getting technical about it. But Yelp refuses to acknowledge the beauty of nuance, and I'm feeling generous today. So four stars it is for the little roadside gas station that looked at Buc-ee's empire and said, we can absolutely make a run at this thing.

This is definitely one of the worst Wawa locations I have visited. I say that with confidence…read morebecause I stopped here twice and both experiences were not good. We stopped here for gas both times but I went in both times to use the restroom and purchase some coffee. Both times we visited, it was very busy. The first time I went to use the restroom, the non-handicapped stall was a disaster and I could not get the toilet paper out, which I think the roll was too large for the holder. It was dirty anyway, with possible feces and urine on the floor so I waited for the handicap stall to open. It was occupied by an employee that took some time in there. Maybe cleaning? That stall was clean so I used that. I then went purchased a couple of snacks and a coffee. The second visit, the store was more busy and there was a line for the restroom. The line was moving but there were about 4 of us waiting at a time. Then I went to get coffee. No Cuban roast or any dark roast. I moved on to check the medium roasts, all those were empty too. I was standing there waiting for the coffee employee to come over but she never did. Another staff member (possibly a manager) walked through and didn't ask if I needed anything. So I threw out the cup with the couple of drops of coffee and walked out. I hope by the next time we do visit, there will be improvements. I believe this store was new but I have yet to visit a new Wawa that was lacking.

I've been visiting Wawa's for 7 years now. My first experience with a Wawa was in Florida. I'm glad…read morethey're now opening locations in GA! So, this visit at the Valdosta location, was good, but not great. I used the app to order a few sandwiches and drinks. I enjoy the app because there is always some type of special deal to choose from. We ordered one combo( hot sandwich/chips/drinks) and one cold sandwich and an iced coffee. The price (using app coupons) cannot be beat! $15 for two of us to have lunch, but the sandwiches are so big, neither of us could finish them. The part that is lacking at this location is manpower. The ladies behind the counter were all working at a feverish pace, but I counted 21 people waiting for their food and/or drinks. Maybe they should staff a few more people on the weekend during peak lunch times. I will say that the sandwiches were perfectly made, delicious and huge. My iced coffee was also spot on. All in all, I waited almost 20 minutes past the pickup time. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. They've only been open about 7 weeks so I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out soon.
