I should have known better. I always insist on a written estimate when having work done around the house, but this time, I let down my guard. R Stanley's crew was in the neighborhood, stopped by, and gave me a verbal estimate of $390 to seal-coat my driveway. The crew chief mentioned that there would be an additional charge depending on the need to seal cracks. Then, the boss came by and explained that he wanted to run a strip of asphalt where the driveway meets the garage doors and sidewalk, to fill in gaps that were about one-inch wide. I agreed. Well, after the job was finished, he handed me the bill. $1,800! He swore he told me that amount while his crew was doing the work, but I recall no such thing. I'm sure I'd remember a $1,400 increase (460%). The invoice mentions that there is a 7 year warranty on the work, for whatever that's worth. Bottom line: I feel like I was robbed and I should have insisted on a written estimate before they started work. As far as the quality of the work is concerned, I have no complaint. It was done neatly and they applied plenty of sealer, so I'm expecting the driveway coating to last a long, long time. This is a complaint about the way I was broadsided by their final price. Did my paving stayed of off it for two weeks and a good soaking rain came so we went on it, now its starting to peel after 4 months called him twice never called me back. Later i heard thats the way he does business. hit and run. read more

They did a lousy job paving my drive way with blacktop. All the gravel is loose and washing away, it needs more tar and pressed back down with heavy equipment machinery. I called Rowdy Stan and i informed him of the issues and he promised he would come out and make it right. Well a month has gone by, i have called, emailed and texted him numerous times and no return calls. I found him on Letgo and he blocked me from there. I am a very unhappy customer, i spent $1000 on a job and the work was of very poor quality, he lied about how it would look and he has been avoiding my calls even though he said he would come out and fix it. I dont want others to be swindled out of their money by this crook who does awful work. DO NOT USE THIS CLOWN FOR ANY OF YOUR NEEDS. read more
