I've been experiencing a loss of feeling in my foot for about eight months now, along with…read morepersistent pain between my toes for nearly the same amount of time. As someone who enjoys staying active through walking and stretching, I was filled with fear when I first began losing sensation in the heel of my foot. I wondered--Is this what life has in store for me at 50? Am I supposed to just accept the loss of feeling in my foot, with the possibility that it could eventually spread to the entire foot--or worse, other areas? Thankfully, I didn't have to accept that. Dr. Young has been adjusting both my back and foot, which consistently brought temporary relief from the painful snapping I experienced between my toes when I first started walking. However, the pain would typically return within two days. I also tried other treatments, such as athletic taping and Alpha Lipoic Acid. The supplement seemed to slow the progression--when I stopped taking it, numbness began creeping into my other foot. I also saw a pediatrist and he offered me a shot for the sensation between my toes and nothing for the numbness happening in my foot. Prior to this appointment (about two weeks ago), both doctors had collaborated on a treatment plan tailored to my symptoms--and it paid off! Last week, I came into the office in severe pain--9 out of 10 in both my foot and back. I thank the good Lord that I was already scheduled to see Dr. Young and begin Sanexas therapy with Dr. Atwell-I was ready to keep exploring and try any therapy. After Dr. Young's adjustment and my first Sanexas treatment with Dr. Atwell, I walked out of the office with my pain level reduced from a 10 to a 2! A few days later, I began to feel something unusual: cool sensations in my heel. After some research, I discovered that this sensation is actually a positive sign--an indicator that nerve healing may be underway. I continued red light therapy at home and resumed taking Alpha Lipoic Acid. Then last night--just one week after my treatment--I was shocked to discover that I had regained feeling in my foot! Even better, the painful snapping between my toes had not returned. I am beyond grateful. I highly recommend the chiropractic treatments at Kalaheo Wellness, not only for the quality of care but for the collaborative, comprehensive, and compassionate approach from both doctors. Kalae, Office Manager, and her team have also played an essential role in helping me book appointments that fit my schedule and in educating me about the innovative treatments now offered at Kalaheo Wellness. ***Honorable mention to Dr. Banks as he also has spearheaded shoe lifts and a diagnostic that allowed me to shift my balance, target habits and alleviate pain. Incredible, caring doctor who I have seen while Dr. Young was away. Mahalo nui loa, Kalaheo Wellness team!Your dedication to healing has made a real difference in my life.

Very dissappointing. Having moved back home I needed to find a new primary care physician. My…read morefamily recommended that I see Dr. Williamson since they think highly of him. I had my initial appointment in January, but only after I was screened over the phone for any serious medical issues, which thankfully I am a relatively healthy person, otherwise I'd be out of luck. Seems to be the going trend now for health care. As long as you don't have any health issues you can be accepted as a new patient. At my first appointment there ever, I was asked to pay my copayment prior to even seeing the doctor, which I thought was pretty tacky. I guess it didn't matter whether service was provided first or even if I wanted to continue seeing the doctor. So much for bedside manners. Like the "Type A" person that I am, I brought all of my medications with me for the clinic to document to make sure they had accurate information for my refills. The nurse wrote them down in the computer and we even went in depth about one of them. I met with Dr. Williamson and he was a very good listener and had good credentials (Punahou grad, etc.) and he was also very honest, helpful, and direct, which I appreciate. My problem with KMC is not with Dr. Williamson, but with his staff. I have had so many issues with my medical records, communication, and tasks needed in such a short amount of time, that unfortunately, I am shopping around for a more efficient clinic. And, I really liked Dr. Williamson too! These are the problems I have faced with this clinic: -Inaccurate documentation of my presciptions despite bringing in my medication. -lack of urgency in refilling my presciptions. Pharmacy reported to me it was not received for over a week or two (I had to email the office to remind them). -playing phone tag: nurse will leave a message but nothing specific for me to respond to. -lack of urgency in sending important documents to other treating physicians who need the forms prior to medical appointments off island. -lack of good communication in-house. Information/tasks provided to receptionist was not relayed to or comprehended accurately by other staff members, which delayed other medical procedures (I provided fax numbers, yet I get phone calls for the fax number again). -lack of good customer service. Even though I hand-delivered a form for a signature I needed from the doctor for an Oahu appointment, which he was aware of receiving, the office staff refused to ask him to sign it because he was with a patient (It's one signature for crying out loud!). The signature would have been completed in 2 seconds and I could have faxed the form myself to Oahu. I just found out its been a week and half and it's still has not been received. Ugh! So, you can see my frustration with this clinic. I could possibly be the only person that has this issue here, but I doubt that I am an anomaly. I hope that this review helps others when they are looking for good heathcare. Support staff is an integral part in how an office/clinic runs and it is unfortunate that these issues occur because they are fixable. I hope that the clinic is able to make positive changes to their practice if they become aware of this review.
