We stumbled upon Blaine Construction through a google search and excellent reviews and I am so glad we did. I contacted them and scheduled a day for them to come out to assess the damage, discuss the rebuild and most importantly help with the insurance claim. David and Jesse came out the same week and were extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the entire process. They showed me pictures, explained next steps and brought ideas that I wasn't even thinking of. Within a few days they began the process of ordering kitchen counters, the countertop and flooring. They provided me with samples and floor plan ideas. Jim, Jesse and David were great at communicating every step of the way and answered questions with care and patience. It's extremely difficult to find contractors who truly care about the work they do and are honest, caring people. The quality of the product match the quality of the workmanship. I look forward to working with this team in the future as their knowledge is much broader than countertops and kitchen cabinets. I can not recommend this company enough.

He did not think about my husband being in a wheelchair, so he didn't build things that he could actually use. It was down hill from there he bout the cheapest bathroom fixtures he find. An example of that is when they ripped out our old light fixtures. Threw them pm out porch for weeks, and then decided to reuse them. The VA paid this man an extreme amount of money to remodel our home and he didn't finish the he use substandard fixtures, and the paint job they did in the bathroom could have been done by a kindergartener. Think really hard beat choosing them.

I have the same experience as the other reviewer. A few items were left unfinished or not…read moreprofessionally finished, such as painting, trim at the bottom of each entry door. A couple of area on the exterior of the house was left unpainted. The stairs were not stained properly and there was absolutely no landscaping done. I've had to call a plumber a couple times during the first year to correct mistakes made during installation. I contacted Mr Rim and he told us that he would send someone to finish the areas that we had problems with but no one ever showed up. I would not recommend this contractor.

KC Brothers (James Rim) built our house in Richmond Hill. We've been in the house for over 3 years…read morenow, so long enough to give a review. We believe the construction to be sound as far as the walls, foundation and roof. However, much of the finish work was done poorly, i.e. rough, unsanded trim, trim that was not painted at all, very poor paint "touch-ups" that stand out like you put a floodlight on them. The worse thing has been the fireplace. We still haven't been able to use it after 3-1/2 years. We've been told by 2 gas companies that the line coming out of the house is too close to points of ignition, i.e. an outlet and the outdoor A/C unit. Also, we told Mr. Rim that we DID NOT WANT to use ventless gas logs, and he made the fireplace to be used with ventless gas logs. My husband said, "Well, we can burn wood instead." NO, we can't because Mr. Rim DID NOT put a chimney on our fireplace. Who does that? So, we have a fireplace that we can't even use. At the time of construction, we had issues because the stone that was used for the fireplace did not match the sample that we saw at the stone place. We went back and forth with the stone place and with Mr. Rim, but instead of trying to satisfy their customer, the stone place and Mr. Rim ghosted us. I would recommend him as a builder, BUT write up every little thing that you expect and have him sign it!! Very important!! He will tell you that he wasn't supposed to do something when we had documentation that showed he was. He needs someone to keep track of details for him. I'm ready just to tear out the fireplace and have wallboard installed. Sad, because I love a fire when it's cool and I love to decorate the mantle for Christmas.
