When you think deli sandwiches you probably don't think about Wyoming. However, on a recent trip to Devil's Tower in northeastern Wyoming I stumbled across a deli in the small town of Hulett that rivals some of the best sandwiches I have anywhere in America. Not much to choose from in this tiny town, but the front desk recommended and yelp concurred.....After a day spent hiking Devil's Tower, we were hungry and sandwiches hit the spot! Fresh ingredients, meats sliced on demand, and a wide variety of choices. I had the club, very good. Hubs had the subway, it was huge and he enjoyed it very much! Daughter said the Monroe (sliced chicken and greens) was good! They were busy, we waited a little bit, but it was worth it. If you are visiting Devils Tower, make R-Deli a part of your trip! They have amazing legit NY/NJ style subs and thin crust pizza. The subs are perfectly constructed - the meats and cheeses are sliced really thin (those from NY/NJ area know what that means) and perfectly stacked. I had The Godfather with a variety of Italian meats and that touch of olive oil and vinegar that makes it oh so good. They have a great selection of different kinds of sandwiches. After visiting Devil's tower, we were hungry and wanted a decent meal. Searched on Yelp for a sandwich place and this place pops up. Only 15 minutes away in a town of Hulett, this place offered great variations of fresh cut deli meat style sandwiches. We had the Godfather, Jersey submarine and smoked Turkey and cheese sandwiches and they were all delicious! Generous portions of meats with great flavor combinations. The best sandwich Ive had in a long time. Ordered the special. Turkey Bacon Wrap with homemade potato salad and chips 8.95. Turkey fresh shaved and lots of it. Ok. Stopped here coming from Devils Tower. Not sure what to expect, but couldn't belive what I got! Great deli sandwiches, great prices, and great people. On a road trip across SD and WY and stayed the night in Hulett by the Devils Tower. Hungry and tired so food at our room along with a growler of fresh beer I got in the Black Hills earlier in the day sounded really good. We ordered pizza for the kids and my wife and I both got the Godfather sandwich - basically an Italian sub with artichoke hearts and red peppers. Everything was delicious and the owner/staff were so friendly and gracious. We were very impressed! We called in the order as we were leaving the Devils Tower to go back to our hotel across the street from the Deli and it timed out almost perfectly. Delicious and enjoyable meal! I love this place! What a hidden gem in Hulett, which is a hidden gem of a town. On two visits camping in the Bearlodge Mountains and hiking at Devils Tower I stopped in Hulett for lunch. The sandwiches here are huge and delicious, perfect to take back to the mountains for a scrumptious picnic lunch. Nice atmosphere and staff too. read more

We stopped here after Devils Tower. I had read good reviews on them and took a chance (because there is not much to choose from around this area). I am sooo glad that we did eat here! They had a little covered outdoor eating area and so we set up our little "picnic". The ladies running it were super friendly and one even came to check on us outside. This was an awesome find for us. It's a tiny little place but they serve all kinds of great sandwiches, and best of all they have a gluten free wrap (it's almost impossible to find gluten free options in this area!). Come for Devils tower but stay for this establishment. This is the deli. The service is professional and personal. Small town that cares kind of service. But let's focus on the food. What a great local gem very close to the Devils Tower monument! We stopped in after a morning of hiking and were greeted by very friendly staff. Sandwiches are made to order with meats sliced to order. I had the pastrami stacker and hubs had the ham and Munster wrap special. Both were absolutely delicious, and the staff even heated them up for us. Hubs got a cup of turkey vegetable soup with his that was yummy and definitely homemade. I had the potato salad which was also excellent. Also, like any good deli worth its salt the sandwiches were served with a nice crisp kosher pickle. Yum! Pass up the tourist stations and ice cream shops with hot dogs on rollers just outside the park and drive the short 8 miles to get a fantastic sandwich read more

I had a great roast beef sandwich with horseradish sauce. The pasta salad was not the best but the potato salad was awesome. They also have ice cream where you can choose between vanilla and chocolate along with different sauces and toppings. Our family was super excited to try this deli. I'm sure it's wonderful, but it was closed when we were there on a Saturday morning after a visit to Devils Tower. A sign on a white board on the door said Monday-Friday. We ended up going next door to a place called Wild Hogz BBQ and ordered hot dogs and chicken and pork sandwiches.
