When I went here with my friend the place was packed, luckily we were able to sit at the bar. I tried my very first London Fog tea drink here, it was sweet and delicious. I also decided to eat something called a "Tartine." There was a few options and I picked the Pomegranate Zaatar Tartine. It was more zesty then pomegranate-ish but still yummy. I loved the thick layer of melted feta cheese on the bread, it made the pistachios on it so delicious and I usually don't like pistachios. The owner was really nice and so was the bartender. Everyone should eat here at least once, I highly recommend it!

+.5 for service This…read morewas a bit of a shocking review for me as well, as I expected Harth to be leaps and bounds better than the other Italian places in this city. While I believe Harth is still good overall, the price point gave me second thoughts on whether I'd consider this place the best outright. I went with three friends for dinner back in October. Two of us shared a dozen oysters, and I had the tagliatelle. We also shared a tiramisu for dessert. While the taste of the oysters was fine, some of the oysters had bits of shells in them, meaning they were not shucked very well. The tagliatelle was very good, in fact I'd probably stick with the pasta dishes next time (I mean, it's an Italian place after all). The tiramisu for dessert was...average. I'd probably pick something else for dessert. Service was, as expected, excellent here. I could push this up to 4 stars with a future visit, but for a high price point in this city, I have to be realistic with what I paid vs the value I got.

It was the holiday long weekend, so we practically had the place to ourselves. I can imagine this is a very rare occurrence, because it's such a little gem! I so wish we could have sat outside, but it was a drippy, misty day, so inside we went. I ordered a latte', the Breakfast Bun, and a piece of banana bread, and she ordered a GF version of the Breakfast Bun and coffee. Everything was delicious, the place was super cozy, the staff were friendly and the service was good. What else do you need? Also? Check out that cool mural of Manitoba history on the washroom wall. We got to the restaurant and the bartender, Kieran, gave us great drink recommendations. We ordered a couple items from the menu - the olives (served warm - amazing!) and the Pumpkin Crème Brûlée, prepared by Denise in the kitchen, were our favourites! I wanted to spend an evening out with my sister and Kieran took the time to answer all our questions on the drinks without hovering. Would definitely recommend this bar. Sunday night it was calm, classy, and cozy; we were told Friday and Saturday are quite busy if you want a more bumpin' vibe. Whatever night you chose to go, I hope Kieran is at the bar - great service.

3.5/5, +.5 for service…read more Went to Block and Blade for a friend's birthday party. We were part of a large group of about 20, and the server accommodated us very well. The restaurant is slightly upscale, with a wealth of food options at somewhat higher than average prices. I was torn between a few items, but I settled with a starter french onion soup and an entree of chicken tenders and fries. I've had lots of french onion soups in my life. This one was quite good; the gruyere cheese was plentiful and was gooey, which is how it should be. The chicken tenders were crispy with plenty of batter. The honey dill sauce is on the creamy side, which I didn't like as much but I can imagine others preferring the creaminess of the sauce. It won't be a place that'll be on my regular visit rotation due to location and price, but I'd definitely have this in my list of suggestions for a special occasion.

I had in the neighborhood. One time I sat at a table; one time I sat at the bar and a third time I saw it in a booth. On each occasion, I waited between 15 and 20 minutes for somebody to even come to the table. On two of the occasions, the food came before I had a set up at the table, and the server disappeared, leaving me with no cutlery and a meal rapidly getting colder. The first time this happened I contacted the restaurant management and said that rather than leave a bad review, I would like to speak to him about it. It obviously didn't help because the next three visits were just as disastrous.
