They do everything just a little bit better than everyone else. You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant by how well they prepare the tacos de frijol. The quality of the tortillas, the flavor of the beans, and the timing of the service. I usually order an extra plate of tacos de frijol to go because I am traveling through Tecoman and you don't need to heat them up to be awesome. I am becoming kind of an aficionado when it comes to octopus. I never thought I would like it so much. I like the diabla sauce, but even more I just like it on the grill. You know it is really good by how tender it comes. Homero's does it so much better than anywhere else I have tried it. Homero's takes ceviche tostadas to the next level. There is a layer of fish ceviche and then another layer of shrimp on top of that. It is a really unique touch that I had not seen before. The quality of the ingredients is off the charts. There are world class water 10km down the road and it seems that they get the best of the best. The restaurant is a little off of the tourist track and caters to a discerning and local crowd. I get the impression they have been doing this for a long time. Homero's is a destination in itself. It is worth driving to Tecoman to check this place out if you like seafood. Some customers also walk down the beach from Los Angeles Locos, the hotel that controls access by land. Visitors by car follow the hotel signs and then drive past the hotel down the beach road and park in the palms and walk back to La Vena. If you come by car you can only get through the hotel Gates sorting open hours at the restaurant, and you may be required to leave your license and show your receipt when you exit. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. All depends on the mood of the guard. So after getting you worried about access, let me assure you that it will be worth it. The restaurant has been run by the same family for the 15 years that we have been visiting Tenacatita. The menu is small and simple and is all local. They are well known for their Rollo del Mar, fish wrapped around shrimp with a rich sauce. Their empanadas de camerones are my favorite. Three large empanadas in an order. Plenty for two normal appetites. I've cold beers, good margaritas, agua minerales and assorted soft drinks make a great place to spend a few hours as the breezes blow through the palapa.
