I managed to make a booking the previous day. When I got there, it felt like a money hungry company as the dentists didn't have cabins, but it was more open plan. I wasn't impressed by the secretaries that I had to deal with, zero customer service and even though I had my treatment and payment plan confirmed by my insurance, they still tried to charge me full price until I proved my right. All negative things aside, my dentist Kamil Noor was amazing, she was very sweet and professional, it really felt like she cared and had a sense of humor! I would definitely go see her again next time!

When I booked my appointment for dental hygiene over the phone I was lured by special offer for new Customers: €90 for check up and actual hygiene together. Do not believe it, this offer is a scam! I ended up paying €50 for check up and €85 for hygiene. Their excuse was check up and hygiene should have been done by the same doctor. Why did not you book me for the same doctor over the phone? I had no idea about the terms and conditions of your offer! Now, during the check up X Ray machine was not working, not even sure X ray was the real thing; and the dental hygiene took less than 30 minutes and was very basic. Imagine if you had dental hygiene 20 years ago, it was THAT basic! I had to pay €135 in total, the girl who took my booking over the phone was not in on the day of my appointment (how convenient) I had to go back twice to that Clinic cause no one returned my calls, and then Receptionist Irene rather rudely told me she could not trace the person who took my booking. How many people are minding the reception in this Clinic I wonder? So the whole experience was tragic and I am trying to be diplomatic here. Will I go back to Harcourt Clinic? Never in my life! Will I recommend it to my friends? Are you kidding? The only good thing about this Clinic is the location, the rest is abysmal.

I was taking the bus from the Waterloo Road and I saw Smiles Dental, I book an appointment for the check-up. I am trying to do check-ups every year. In Smiles Dental it was free with PPS number. The doctor said that I need to do 3 FILINGS. Ohh noooo! I made an appointment for my first one! It was the funny one :) I was waiting when I will feel pain but it was okay, and then I heard - 'It's done!' REALLY??? I couldn't believe, It was painless. Next time I will be less afraid doing my other 2 :) Just letting you know the next day I was laying down with the madest a headache and a toothache. The painkillers like 'Anadin' didn't help me, the stronger one was better.

So, a long overdue appointment was applied for on the smiles.ie website... I heard nothing from them after 2 hours (not being overly patient) I called and no, they hadn't received my application. I made an appointment over the phone for the next day. I suspected I had a long list of ailments so asked for them to do an exam and work up a plan (which I shall be taking to the VHI dental people!). Yup... the list was loooong, including 2 root canals, lots of fun ahead but having met the dentist and gone through the 1st exam and treatment I am happy that (wait for it.....) ...that I'll be smiling in the end crap... did I really go for the cheap pun at the end?, yes, yes I did. I was getting my laser cleaning in the states and they also offer this service. From my understanding general dentists in Ireland do not offer this, so I was happy to find out she was up to speed on it. I will be going back for my cleanings and possibly orthodontics as they do it all here. The office itself was very nice and the décor was modern which made me feel like I was at a dentist back home in America. The only negative thing I will say about this place is they must have been running behind yesterday as I wasn't called back until 45 minutes after my appointment time.

They've repurposed a Georgian house with bedrooms turning into exam rooms and a waiting room. On top of finding and fixing problems that other dentists overlooked, they're both just plain nice, with a long memory for patients and a feeling that you're really giving patronage to a small business. A further plus: prices are leaps and bounds lower than competitors. I trust my teeth to the O'Loughlins and you should too. The setup's a bit weird: get buzzed in the front door and you're directed via speaker into the waiting room, then later called into the reception area upstairs when they're ready for you. But sure that's how the house came to them, so that's what they did with it.

As a long term sufferer of TMJ, I am well used to encountering dentists that fail to understand the complexities of this condition mainly due to the fact that it is a grey area between the medical and the dental professions. Not so with Dr. Barry, not only does he have a working knowledge of TMJ, he also has a sympathetic ear and I found him to be very thorough. After being correctly provided with a pan-oral x ray, Dr. Barry did his utmost to get to the root of the problem (no pun intended) and after a detailed explanation of the images, it was found that the pain was most probably a result of my TMJ. I have since recommended friends and clients to Docklands Dental and all have agreed that they do indeed offer the 'Next Generation Care' they endorse.

He never seems rushed and seems to take adequate care and quality in the work which he performs. I can't remember the name of the girl from the front desk, however she was great as well. She explained well what was performed, what was needed next time, the relevant costs and what I would need to do to recoup taxes as well as from my insurance carrier. Went back for an overdue check up... and I had a little pain.... but you know I convinced myself it was nothing. Boy was I wrong... and now I have no money... and my mouth hurts!! They've updated their whole system, so after falling between the cracks of the reminder system - and after that good new leaf I'd turned over and everything - they now text appointment and check up reminders. I'd left it too long between check ups so the pain to my mouth and my wallet are apparently all my own fault. Boo-urns to that I say!
