The timings change last minute all the time and they tend to change last minute as week as change locations. Some of the coaches are quite rude to the kids making it a very bad experience for the children and they do not allow the parents to watch which is likely to avoid dealing with any complaints. I signed my 5 and 3 yr old up for private swim lessons in soquel. $50 per 25 minute lesson per child. The swim teachers are very young and ineffective. They spent 2 months twirling my boys in the water with zero swim instruction. No breath work, no blowing bubbles, no monkey crawls, and no systematic plan for progression. My second issue is this place is unbelievably unorganized. Communication is either nonexistent or confusing. They switch times without notice and don't show up to lessons. One time my son's lesson got cut 15 min short because the swim teacher had to use the bathroom. We paid $50 for a 10 minute lesson. Wait, there's more. One day they were giving out snacks. With my permission and supervision, my 5 yr old carefully walked around the pool to ask for snack. The staff freaked out on him because they thought he was unsupervised. I tried to wave at them to let them know i was watching him but they kept raising their voices at him telling him to go back to his mom. He got a little scared because he didn't know what he did wrong and he ran back to me. That triggered the head coach, Kim. She screamed at him from the middle of the pool and humiliated him in front of everyone. Then, she turns around and screams at me like I am a child. She made quite a scene and was so disrespectful. My son was so humiliated he curled up on my lap and quietly cried. There was an older woman next to me shaking her head in disbelief. My son was devastated the whole car ride home. I understand they want to enforce pool safety but that is not the way to do it. they blew the whole situation out of proportion. At this point, I was just sticking it out because I already paid for a months worth of lessons. They switched us to the rise collective pool which was cold, crowded, and had dead mice. The owner scooped them out like no big deal while a bunch of little children were swimming in the pool. This wasn't anyone's fault but it just added to our horrible experience. So I decide to end our lessons. On our last lesson my kids show up excited and surprise, surprise. No one showed up to give lessons. There are three other kids without a teacher. So the head coach Kim steps in and my 5 yr old refuses to get in with her because she was so mean to him in the past and the water is freezing. My 3 yr old was brave enough to get in the cold water but he was miserable so we cut our losses and left early. We signed up for private lessons elsewhere and my kids made more progress in one day than they did at quick silver in two months. I normally don't write long reviews complaining but I feel like this place is a scam and other people need to know. Quicksilver is all about quantity over quality. They just churn out lessons and collect the money. They have no ability to actually teach kids how to swim. read more

I recently rediscovered my love of swimming by hopping in the pool at a local gym. I am so impressed with Quicksilver Swimming. I'll start by saying that my daughter had been enrolled at other swim centers since age 3 for several years and made very little progress. She is 8 now and at the beginning of the summer was unable to swim. We enrolled her in private lessons with Quicksilver for nine weeks. She began at level 4 (there are 10 levels), and her last lesson was yesterday, when she graduated from level 8. It's a beautiful sight to watch her move through the water with strength and confidence. I communicated frequently with Andrew, the manager, because we had some scheduling issues. He worked to accommodate those, without which we could not have enrolled. He also suggested swim team to me, which we are starting next week (non-competitive). We had a variety of teachers over the summer. They are all excellent with children, and my daughter loved them. They took time to answer my questions, and watching them inspired me to get swimming at my gym. I want to mention that in talking with Andrew, I learned that Quicksilver had undergone a change of management in the past year. I believe Quicksilver to be the best swim team in the Valley. I love their approach on the development of the swimmer and making sure the kids have a proper grasp of the strokes. My daughter has been swimming for Quicksilver for 1 1/2 years and has gone from a Cabana swimmer to a top 10 Nationally ranked competitor. She is 10 years old and has set goals for herself to swim at the highest level in the future, and I believe Quicksilver has the coaching staff in place to achieve those goals. I also like Quicksilver because the kids and parents that are part of the team are very welcoming and make the long hours spent at swim meets to be very enjoyable. I find everyone very inviting to new members and very good at creating a community feeling. I also very much enjoy the masters program at Quicksilver. Coach Lucas does a great job and is very helpful and accommodating for every level of swimmer. The Masters practice has national levels swimmers and swimmers that are more recreational and he does a great job in giving everyone a workout that will fit their needs. Quicksilver is the best! We choose it over Santa Clara and we were so right. Our son started in a cabana team and he wanted to go serios well he is only 9 years old and has been in the team for 2 years and he already went to 2 Junior Olimpic events and for those that know more about swimming he is part of the Far Western team which is really hard to qualify for. I have had three children in the program over the years, both age group and elite swimming. All the coaches we have worked with have been professional and caring. When I have needed to communicate with the coaches they were always willing to make an appointment to discuss my concerns. The groups the children swim in are well defined so that they know what they need to do in order to "move up". Having swum with teams where those lines are blury, it is nice to have hard and fast rules. read more

Quicksilver is great for a beginning swimmer. But, once your swimmer develops, the coaching becomes "selective" and the same 10 swimmers get the coaching and development. It has become too large for the coaches, most of whom are not experienced, to handle the groups and swimmers are lost in the shuffle. My swimmer was never given the test sets needed to advance to the next level, even though my swimmer had the requisite times to advance. So, after several years with this club, our swimmers moved to a club where they are coached to develop, not just another swimmer paying dues. And, they have improved quicker than while at QSS. read more

Worse experience ever!! Sign up my 2 kids for swimming lesson. The first week was really good and I was super happy because my daughter was learning all the basic skills. This week my daughter was going from one instructor to the next and they end up putting her with level 1 students. When I went to ask why she was going from on instructor to another. The lady in charge was very RUDE!! She said well sometime this happens and there is no guarantees how the kids will be place. I told her they should disclose weather the class will be a combination class. Her RUDE response was my trainer are very capable of handling 5 student at a time. My concern is that my daughter is stuck with kids that are barely leaning to swimming and she's almost in level 3. I only wanted a simple explanation but all I got was some RUDE remarks by the lady in charge. I will NOT recommend this place to any one. This lady needs to learn how to treat people with respect. She needs A LOT of training in the customer services department. read more

I have been taking my kids to swimming lessons here for years in the summer. This year they had change of management. Once we tried out, I feel it is actually way better! The location is now at John Muir Middle. The pool is much quieter, smaller but less intimidating. Easy to park. I'm very pleased with all of the instructors starting day 1. They were all hard workers and really helped my kids and other students to learn the skill. We like the new program as well. All of my kids enjoyed swimming and learning here this year. I have my daughter signed up for swim lessons and so far we have had a good experience. She is 2 and I was under the impression by family that she would be able to go in by herself with the instructor. Well it turns out someone has to go in with her which resulted in my dad jumping in with his shorts on the first time. No big deal, it just would have been nice u they would have let us know that when they confirmed out registration. The only other reason I did not give 5 stars is because my daughter is already very familiar with the water. She loves to be in the pool and is very independent. She pushes away from me all the time an I was hoping these classes would teach her to SWIM. So far, since she is in the little kid class, all they're really doing is getting the kids familiar with the water. Which, like I said, she already is. Hopefully they will start letting her do other things pretty soon. Other than that, they have a lot of class options and our instructor is exceptional. read more
