We stopped briefly at a dollar store to grab a couple of things and the engine started misfiring and the check engine light came on! We were nearly 300 miles from home. Nearly the same from the nearest dealership! But it seemed to be running semi smoothly above 2,000 rpm, so proceed the 20 miles to our next camping destination and take it from there. It was Saturday afternoon. We will get nothing done until Monday, so we might as well relax. Over Sunday, I checked on local auto repair businesses. I found a first choice. Went there Monday morning, first thing. There was a for sale sign up and it was locked up. Came across a second, quite by accident, but their ODBC tester had been stolen. Also the shop was FULL of dust covered cars, just sitting there in various by states of disrepair and disassembly. They recommended that I go to the local O'Rilley's and have them diagnose the problem. He got out his pocket sized tester and informed me there was an ignition problem with the number four cylinder, maybe the plug, maybe the coil, but "Cactus Jack's Auto Repair" had the best ODBC tester in town and they also had a "crackerjack mechanic". I drove over there and met "Kris". I instantly felt a whole lot more hopeful. He got out his big ODBC tester and confirmed that the number four cylinder was the problem. It was at least the plug (I was due for new plugs anyway) and probably the coil too. He said he could have the parts by Tuesday at two. I showed up at the appointed time and two and a half hours later I was back on the road, running like a dream. I experienced only sound, confident, competent, professionalism. I would feel comfortable taking this car, or any other vehicle to Cactus Jack's for ANY mechanical issue. Solid, honest customer service, at its finest. I highly recommend this establishment

I consented to an oil change and asked the rep (nonmechanic) what the other terminology meant.... I left to get a second opinion. I AM SO HAPPY I WENT TO JUKES! They saved me probably $2,000, provided me education about the codes as how they related to my vehicle and provided future recommendations as how to keep my car in the best condition. It was so quick, no hard sells, and was a friendly environment. They will be my first opinion from now on!

As I rolled through Menard, I had the thought to google to see if there was a substantial tire shop there. Wagner's came up first and were less than 2 minutes away. What a great decision! When I asked if they could squeeze me in, they said they hoped they could get to me in 30-45 minutes. I ended up pulling out of there with a repaired tire and my spare resecured back under my truck in less than 30 minutes. They exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Wagner's.

It took several days for our parts to arrive, and he offered for us to stay in our camper on his property for free. He even let us connect to his electric to run our air conditioner. I watched the employees of Kelly's Auto Shop for a week, and they were absolutely always the pinnacle of professional and kind. Bryon is an extremely knowledgeable expert in auto repair, and could diagnose problems immediately and have them fixed in quick order. Kyle is a by-the-book perfectionist who treated every vehicle as if it was his own. He's young and smart, and a fantastic person. Kelly (the owner) is a great "old style" mechanic. He's worked on every kind of vehicle and seen every type of problem. He's well versed in cars and also isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and fix something when it needs fixing.
