I can confidently say there will NEVER be a second. Let's start with the receptionist. She was loud, unprofessional, speaking across the office like she was hanging out on a street corner, and casually dropping the F-word while patients were sitting there listening. Zero professionalism. Zero discretion. Zero awareness of her surroundings. Then she called me back to take my blood pressure. GOOD. LORD. The second I was confined in that little exam room with her, the smell hit me. This wasn't a tiny hint of body odor that you politely ignore. This was a HEAVY, stale, musty, haven't-seen-soap-today smell that filled the space. I was sitting there wondering how I'm at a MEDICAL FACILITY concerned about whether the equipment is sanitized when the person touching patients smells like basic hygiene wasn't on today's agenda. I don't expect the Ritz-Carlton. I don't expect perfume. I don't care what anyone looks like. But if your JOB requires you to stand inches away from patients, PLEASE SHOWER BEFORE YOUR SHIFT. Soap, water and deodorant should not be considered advanced medical technology. And then I overheard that she's the MANAGER?! That nearly took me out. If this is management, who exactly is enforcing standards? HER? She's supposed to be the example for the rest of the staff while loudly using profanity in front of patients and walking people into tiny rooms smelling like a damp laundry hamper that's been forgotten for a week? Absolutely not. The provider was at least pleasant, but even that portion of the appointment didn't inspire much confidence. She repeatedly had to leave the room to ask questions and then come back. The entire appointment felt rushed, disorganized and amateurish. I was told I needed a specialist referral. At checkout they had absolutely NO difficulty taking my payment and telling me I was done. Funny how that part of the operation runs efficiently. I left and realized nobody had given me any referral information. So I called. FIFTEEN MINUTES ON HOLD. Someone finally answered. I explained what happened. BACK ON HOLD. Eventually I was told someone would call me back. Three days later, I'm apparently still waiting for this mythical phone call. So, to recap: profanity in the waiting area, an unbelievably uncomfortable hygiene situation, chaotic service, a provider repeatedly leaving to ask questions, no referral information, 15+ minutes on hold, and absolutely no promised callback. But my payment? Oh, THAT they managed flawlessly. The most unbelievable part remains discovering that the person setting this spectacular standard of professionalism is supposedly THE MANAGER. If the manager is the example everyone else is expected to follow, this office doesn't need a suggestion box. It needs an intervention. One visit was more than enough. I will be contacting my insurance company and finding another provider immediately. I wouldn't voluntarily return to this office if they validated my parking, refunded my copay, AND handed me a complimentary bar of soap on the way in.

When in a pickle, I have had reason to use Minute Clinics at CVS a couple times over the years…read more Most of the time it is when I cannot get over the hump of the flu/cold after many days, I cannot get to my regular physician and I am pressed for time in my life. It can be a challenge when I do not have an appointment that I would have scheduled on the CVS website, but my advice to a walk-in is be the first on the walk-in schedule for a day if at all possible. It is worth showing up early when they open, because as the day goes on they refuse walk-ins when they are booked and busy. Always know it is best to have an appointment. This was a couple months ago that I was sick and needed care. I walked in as a walk-in at 8:30am and was called in at 9:40am, with people ahead of me with appointments. Wait times happen, welcome to healthcare in America, so come prepared with your I-phone, or laptop or a book. The wait is a small inconvenience to knowing I will get scripts to make me feel better in the coming hours/days...I need to get on with my life. Lou is the medical person that I have seen on several occasions when I need the MinuteClinic. I actually remember her from the Walgreens clinic across the street where she worked many moons ago before Walgreens closed that part of their pharmacy and stopped offering quick care. She is efficient, professional, quick to diagnose, compassionate and gets me out the door with a script promptly, all while I feel like she was not rushing. A script that I can then easily fill right there are the CVS pharmacy. Very convenient. Waiting area is relatively spaced out with chairs and you can always be standing further away near the retail space if germs are an issue. There is no person to check you in, you check in on their kiosk portal in their waiting area. I have gone the route of Telehealth with CVS and due to misdiagnosis, had to walk into the CVS clinic after about a week of no progress in recovery. As such, I am glad this location is here, with a real person like Lou to assist when I am pressed for time and cannot really get in to see my regular physician.

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more My husband and I scheduled appointments to reestablish care with Valley Oaks after our original provider, Dr. Shin, left the practice. We received confirmation texts showing my appointment at 11:00 a.m. and my husband's at 11:15 a.m. We arrived 15 minutes early, only to find out that my husband's appointment had been changed to 7:30 a.m. without any notification. I showed the staff our confirmation text, but was simply told it was "booked wrong" and that he would need to reschedule. There was no apology or accountability, despite us both taking the day off work. The clinic itself was also extremely disappointing. The facility was run-down and dirty, with visibly worn broken furniture, and dirty used water cups throughout the office. The overall condition of the office did not give us confidence in the quality of care. So maybe it was a sign. After this experience, we feel we're better off finding a different provider. Extremely disappointing from start to finish.

Right off the bat the girl at the front desk was supposed to charge my card $125.00 but accidentally charged it $1,250.00. I refused and they said they would keep my card on file to charge when I got the refund. Then one of the girls from the front desk was the one who was going to take my blood. She clearly had very little idea what she was doing and ended up having to go get the doctor to take my blood because she couldn't get it (left a huge bruise on my arm) the doctor wasn't much better but at least got the blood that was needed (she left a huge bruise on my hand). I come to find out later that NONE of them are actual phlebotomists, they just have on the job training of how to take blood. They told me the results would take 3-5 days to come back. It has been 11 days today so I called the office and insisted on getting an update. The girl called quest then called me back to say they 'left my blood outside for too long for quest to come pick it up so the temperate of the blood was not what it was supposed to be for it to be tested' so quest was not able to test it. But that I could come back there 'free of charge' to do the blood test again or I could just go straight to quest myself to have them take my blood but I would have to pay quest for that again for that and to test the blood. So me paying them would have been for absolutely nothing but going through the headache of being charged an extra thousand dollars and getting horrible bruises on me because I would have to go straight to quest to have the blood done anyways. I asked the front desk girl to just give me a full refund because this has been terrible and I will just go straight to quest. She couldn't get me a manager or higher up on the phone, she could only give me a managers email address. My advise - go literally ANYWHERE else but here if you want to be taken care of properly. Do not trust these people with something as important as your health.

On top of that, several phone representatives have been rude and dismissive, and I feel I've been misled repeatedly just to get me off the phone. This is unacceptable for a healthcare service.
