We started working with Raffi Ohanian and Max Pull Marketing back in October 2022, hiring their…read moreservices to build our jewelry brand a new website. We paid them a $2,500 downpayment for our website build. On top of that, we were charged $647/month. Of this monthly bill, $245-$350 went towards installments on the website build itself-- the range reflects how unclear and inconsistent the fee breakdown was depending on when we asked. The remaining balance of the bill went towards fees on website maintenance, CRM, and hosting.
The most alarming part: for 21 months before the website was launched in June 2024 (yes, it took Raffi Ohanian and Max Pull Marketing that long to build the website), we were charged maintenance, CRM, and hosting fees to "run" a live website, when our website was not yet live. There was nothing to host, or maintain, nor were there customers using our website for which we would utilize a CRM. We were paying monthly for services tied to a site that didn't exist online yet, and we were never given a clear explanation of where that money was going.
When the site finally launched, it stayed up for about two months before we realized it was extremely slow, had many broken links, and was ultimately unusable. We raised these issues, and Raffi said he would fix the site and build us a new one. But his team became very difficult to reach after that. At this point, all trust was gone, and we cancelled Max Pull Marketing's services in October 2024 -- two years after starting having realized that Raffi Ohanian was unable to provide what was promised and was just wasting our time.
Max Pull marketing contracts their work out to inexperienced workers overseas. While we were working with them, our service provider changed many times as they kept proving unable to actually build the website and were repeatedly replaced by Raffi.
We were left having paid in full for a non-functioning website we couldn't use, plus nearly two years of fees for services we weren't using and didn't need. In total, this cost us $18,476. To resolve this conflict, on a phone call Raffi Ohanian committed to refund us for the $9,000 spent on maintenance, CRM, and hosting fees that were not used. He then changed his mind and refused to return us any of our money.
Looking back, it feels like Raffi Ohanian and Max Pull Marketing took advantage of our trust, charging us fees for services he wasn't actually providing. We do not know where this money ever went.
