The sale stuff is excellent - you can always tell a good shop by how their sale stuff is hung. It's not shoved at the back of the shop like you usually find. In fact, it's just a pleasant surprise that you notice on the tag that the amazing dress at the front of the shop is half price. Brilliant. The staff are friendly. I was the only person in the shop yesterday and usually I HATE that. I feel compelled to buy stuff - you can't browse and hide if no one else is in there. Especially in expensive boutiques. The dresses are great - not cut to my exact tastes though which is why I came out empty handed. Their jackets are cut very well and very 'officey' - shame I wear jeans to the office now or I'd have come out with three. I think if I keep popping back I'll find some great stuff in here. Lots of floaty silk stuff. Wedding perfect. Dresses usually about £200 are about £60 in the sale right now. Bargain. Oh, and if the staff are reading this, if you could reduce that amazing gorgeous long silk dress I spotted, I'd appreciate it. Ta very much.

Factory Outlet North Finchley is nothing like that. There are some good deals to be had, even a rack starting at just 5 pounds. I'll admit the clothes in this shop are taste-full and beautiful. There is a particularly nice brown ruffle dress in a silky material for 22 pounds and some lovely knits that wrap around your body. The staff here is friendly enough and not up your arse, in a way that is common in a small store. I like to come in here and have a poke around. I will note this store only sells clothing so no handbags or shoes on offer.

The Designer Warehouse is one of my favourite London discoveries…read more Not far from my home, and just off Seven Sisters road is a monthly sale for designer clothes - having heard from it from a colleague, I didn't really know what to expect. It was great and would definitely recommend giving it a visit. When getting to the warehouse, you have to leave your bag and coat (including your phone) in a cloakroom, and may a small fee of £3 (or 2?) to be able to get in. The sale is over 2 floors, and organised by designers - some are really well known, some are smaller names I've never heard of. It's not a posh environment, it's just rows and rows of clothes on hangers - and you have to take the time to go through them to find the gems, and also your size. There aren't any changing rooms, but there is an area where you can go and try them on at the back of the venue - it's closed off to men, but you do have to accept getting changed in front of other women. I am myself a massive fan of Vivienne Westood, and this was also the opportunity for me to try on a few pieces of her clothes - and yes, I did cave in and buy a top (1/3 of the original price) and a scarf. Good to know: they separate their sales between womanswear and menswear - their schedule is updated on their website.

The assortment of inventory is very different compared to the US, and honestly, it's not as good LOL. Also, if anyone knows the "No tag" rule at all TJX Company stores in the US. Whenever you would like to purchase something that doesn't have a tag, they try to give you the best possible price for an item that's comparable to the item. The same thing happened to me with a bracelet, and they tried to charge me 15 pounds for a bracelet that's worth 4. There were many cheaper ones all around, but of course they picked the most expensive one. . . I had to drop a star for that, but otherwise it was a cool touristy experience.
