Beware, Quest Diagnostics is unreliable. Many people, including me, are forced to use their services because of insurance. I couldn't get a morning appointment for weeks because every clinic's slots were booked. Today, I went to the King Road clinic, scheduled to open at 7:30 am. I arrived at 8:20 am, and several people with appointments made weeks earlier were still waiting because the office hadn't opened yet. Came here twice in 2 weeks for Function testing and the gal is super friendly informative, and overall this was an easy bloodwork. I even drove from North Portland as this seemed to be the better option at all the quest in the area. Easy walk-ins, I recommend having an appointment though. People seem to complain about appointments and wait times which is common at a blood lab. Go get yourself coffee and a snack afterwards and shut the hell up. read more

Unclear if I could find a more unprofessional office. Twice they have cancelled on me and they email me 20 minutes before a late afternoon appointment. The reason for cancelling was building maintenance. My labs I had to fast until 4pm. So call me hangry but trying to get tests done here is a nightmare. I tried calling the number and it's an automated message that sounds like a person trying to give me a free gift. Then I call another number and the voicemail is full so I can't rebook my appointment. I go online to book again and they state the office has closed early until 1pm and doesn't have availability for over a week. I gave up because I'm not going to try a third time. read more

Staff was rude about my doctors' test orders and kept insisting that I owed an exorbitant amount of money--which I absolutely did not (I consulted with their corporate billing department afterwards). Truly the slowest blood draw of my life. Been sitting here since 7:57 and it's now 8:33 and my appt was at 8:00 am. I had hormones to draw today that have to be done by 9 hence the hour earlier appt. This guy in the back is taking 20 minutes just to get the information down and hasn't even drawn the lady who went back at 8:20. Truly the slowest and most unproductive quest I've ever been to. Why make an appt if you won't honor it and are over an hour behind? read more

Quite annoyed. Arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, checked in and everything. It is now 10 minutes past the scheduled time, two employees are chit chatting about their personal lives, kids, child support, pets, etc.. instead of helping me at my appointment time. Fasting, haven't been able to eat and it's going on 11:00AM. I get to sit here listening to them gossip about life matter rather then their job. read more

My wife had a bruise after getting blood drawn. I almost feinted and felt like I was being blamed, after the lady had to draw blood from my arm but couldn't locate the vein properly then moved to my hand, asked if she could take blood from another arm. I was also frustrated because they gave me an attitude for not having a paper copy of the lab order. Not only do you need a paper lab order but two forms of identification and then pay them before they can't even take your blood. I have never feinted due to blood being drawn, but I guess it's my fault. read more

I was nervous about visiting this location because of bad experiences I had with Quest 15 years ago when I lived on the east coast. But all my concerns were unfounded, because I had a great experience. Due to omicron, they are not taking walk-ins -- it's all appointment-only now. I was able to easily book an appointment online, but for some reason the website said my insurance number was invalid even though I entered it multiple times. I was also able to get updates and reminders via text which was helpful. Before the appointment, I got a text with a link to a Covid pre-screening question. Basically I had to go to a website and verify that I didn't have any Covid symptoms. If you do have symptoms you need to check with your doctor about coming in or reschedule. Quest is located at the back of Safeway next to the pharmacy. To get there, walk through aisle 10. Once there I went to a webpage (sent via text) to verify that I was in the store. You can wait anywhere nearby (including your car), you don't actually have to be in the clinic. When they were ready, I got a text. I actually got to go in 5 minutes early so I didn't have to deal with the long wait times of past Quest visits. The phlebotomist was able to find my information quickly. She was kind and had a good sense of humor. The blood draw was quick and relatively painless. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of Quest's billing. In an attempt to expedite things, they try to get you to pay up front. The phlebotomist said that Quest didn't think my insurance covered the visit, even though I have Aetna which I know covers Quest visits. In fact my naturopath sent me there specifically because they do take Aetna. I was given the option to bill Aetna which I did, but I'm not sure what's going on here. Also, when I've been billed for past lab work with Quest last year it was done through a third party service and it was hard to get ahold of Quest to verify that this service really was collecting money for Quest and not orchestrating a phishing attack, Overall, it was a great visit. This was a terrible experience, the worker gave minimal effort to find my labs. Had me sit there for an hour while she sat at her computer doing nothing to help. She rudely dismissed helping me and is disheartening patients are treated this way read more

I'm shocked at how terrible this place is. I wasn't going to leave a negative review after the first time, but after the second I feel the need to warn others. The first visit was for a blood draw and the phlebotomist kept making remarks about me being late (for which I had apologized for immediately). Like, 3 separate remarks. No biggie, but then she left a hand sized bruise on my arm from the blood draw. I've never had such a large bruise from having my blood drawn- it was HUGE! Hey, that's life. Maybe she was having a bad day. So yesterday, I was understandably a bit nervous to have the same person draw my blood. However I showed up for my 2:50PM appt and there was another lady giving flu shots who informed me that the phlebotomist had already left and she wasn't sure if she was coming back that day. I hadn't received any kind of call, text, or email letting me know that the appt would be cancelled. She just decided to blow off the rest of her Friday appts apparently. So I had driven 30 min there and 30 minutes home all for nothing. The phlebotomist will either mangle bruise your veins or just fail to even show up to your appt. She shouldn't have a job anymore! read more

I was pretty nervous to go get bloodwork done during a pandemic. Especially at a facility that is capable of doing Covid testing. But I was pleasantly surprised with how safe it felt. Overall it was quick and easy! read more

I took my four month old son to this location to have his PKU and metabolic screen done. As I was waiting in the lobby I overheard two of the ladies who worked there discussing the PKU. One woman asked the other, "when is the last time you've done a PKU?" The lady responded with its been over 18 years. The first woman said something like same here, this will be a refresher. When one woman came to get me from the waIting room, I asked her if she felt comfortable doing this as we were happy to go somewhere else. I admitted to overhearing their conversation. She said they don't do PKU tests here normally where they prick the heel and would have to take his blood from his arm and that would be easier. She said she's taken blood from infants plenty of times. She had me wait a little longer in the waIting room then finally came to get me and said they don't have the right syringe to take blood from the arm and would have to do the heel prick (you know the procedure neither ladies have done recently and needed refresh) I just said okay and put my trust in her hands. The woman pricks my son's heel and begin squeezing the blood out (I've seen these done a hand full of times I know whaT it looks like and obviously the babies don't like it but it's pretty quick). After sitting there for some time with my son screaming and the woman is starting to look frustrated. I ask her if she is almost done and she says no we have a long way to go. She showed me how much blood she had collected and how much she needed and she suggested going to legacy Emmanuel to have this done. I think the frustrating thing about this is having a conversation in ear shot of a new mother aBout a procedure on her son and your lack of experience is unprofessional. Furthermore when I asked if they were comfortable they should have said no instead of starting the procedure and thEn realizing it wasn't going to bE smooth. No one wanTs to expose their infant to infection for no reason. This was a pretty bad experience and I don't recommend someone take their baby to this Location and possibly call first to see if the Quest location is experienced the procedure you are getting. read more
